  • The festival takes place since 1992 and is the successor to the Pula Film Festival of Yugoslavian Films. It has been a festival with a national focus up to 2000. In 2001 an european competition has been added.
  • The festival count has been inherited from the old festival with the 50th anniversary event taking place in 2003.
  • The festival is celebrated in the 1st century Roman arena in Pula, on the coast of Istria.
