To prepare for her role, Daryl Hannah spent every night for a month at the Crazy Girls strip club on seedy Sunset Strip learning the stripping art. She wore a long black wig as a disguise and dressed in a G-string before gyrating around a pole to thumping disco music. A stripper called Castle said she taught her how to turn men on. Castle said: "She blended in so well with everybody, but I had to give her a few drinks to get her on stage. She's very shy, so I was worried about her taking her top off, but she was a professional and really got into it."
