10 Movie and TV Picks For November2 of 10
Suspiria | In US theaters on Friday, Nov. 2
There's nothing quite like the shared experience of laughing, crying, or screaming in a packed theater. Which is one reason why I'm looking forward to experiencing Luca Guadagnino's distrubing and beautiful Suspiria with an audience. This remake of Dario Argento's 1977 classic is sure to confound some horror fans, as it bears little resemblance to its source material and is more of an art-house horror film (with the emphasis on "art"). But it's so immersive that I can't wait to experience it as part of a collective audience. Suspiria's intensely expressive dance numbers, sensuous score (courtesy of Thom Yorke), and multi-threaded narrative are sure to leave an audience feeling as though it's under a witch's spell. — James G
