Emma Roberts in American Horror Story (2011)

Witch of the Week

"American Horror Story" diehards experienced momentary dizziness when Emma Roberts recently posted a short video on her Instagram account. Dressed in a black dress, Roberts declared, "Surprise, bitch. Bet you thought you'd seen the last of me." "AHS" nation connected the dots and concluded that Roberts' "Coven" character Madison Montgomery is headed back to the small screen for Season 8, which Ryan Murphy recently promised would be a crossover between the "Murder House" and "Coven" storylines. "AHS" fans will recall that Montgomery met an interesting fate during the original season of "Coven." So, if Emma Roberts' character actually is to return to the series for the crossover, there will have to be some significant narrative details to overcome.

Zoey Deutch

Trending Corporate Assistant of the Week

A longtime fan favorite known for memorable roles in Vampire Academy, Why Him?, and Before I Fall, Zoey Deutch is again piquing IMDbers' interest with her latest movie project. In Netflix's Set It Up, Deutch stars as an executive assistant who conspires with another executive assistant (Glen Powell) to play matchmaker with their bosses. The romantic comedy has propelled her up IMDb's STARmeter to the No. 11 spot for the week, which is the highest charting of her career. The last time Deutch cracked the Top 100 was late last year, when she landed at No. 23, shortly after the release of the music video for Ed Sheeran's "Perfect."

Ewan McGregor in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Star Wars News of the Week

Further Star Wars spin-off movies have been put on hold following the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, according to Collider. The means an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie, which was reportedly put into development last year, may not go ahead as well as a spin-off based around bounty hunter Boba Fett, which Logan director James Mangold was said to be working on. Efforts will instead be directed toward Episode IX, a new trilogy from The Last Jedi writer-director Rian Johnson, and a new series of films from the showrunners behind "Games of Thrones." So, we won't be short of movies based in a galaxy far, far away.

Daria (1997)

TV Revival of the Week

When MTV confirmed a series of reboots of some of its best original series this week, "Daria" struck the most resonant chord for us. Sure, we've missed Daria's sardonic wit and her embodiment of everything "outsider" as she trudged through high school in the 1990s, but the news that she'd be joined by one of her allies, Jodie Landon, in the new show filled us with a wild sense of optimism about its potential impact and relevance. Miss Landon is the valedictorian of her class and yet chooses to be more socially alienated than Daria or her BFF Jane. Her dialogue and character arc reflected arguably the show's best writing, and we cannot wait to see exactly where we pick up with this formidable duo.

Xavier Dolan in Heartbeats (2010)

Losers Club Member of the Week

As It: Chapter Two rounds out its principal cast, our indie-movie loving hearts exploded upon hearing the news that Xavier Dolan is joining the Losers Club. The Quebecois filmmaker will be playing Adrian Mellon, a gay man living in Derry who is bashed by townies and then has a fateful encounter with Pennywise the Clown. Dolan, one of the current architects of queer-film culture, is mostly known for starring in his early works, and he's a welcome addition to the sequel's ensemble.

Jordan Peele in Get Out (2017)

Casting News of the Week

Courtney B. Vance, Elizabeth Debicki and Aunjanue Ellis have joined the HBO series "Lovecraft Country," the upcoming drama from Jordan Peele and Monkeypaw Productions. Based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff, "Lovecraft Country" reimagines the racism of 1950s Jim Crow America as Lovecraftian-style monsters threatening the African-American protagonists of the story. We're so there for a Get Out-"Lovecraft Country" double feature.
