Reimagining of the Week
As far as book-to-screen adaptations go, if you're Buzz Bissinger, you'd have to be very pleased. His influential sports nonfiction classic "Friday Night Lights: A Town, a Team, and a Dream" made the leap to movie theaters in 2004 and to TV audiences in 2006. Both projects were successes among critics and viewers alike. Now comes word that Universal is in talks with director David Gordon Green to reimagine Bissinger's account of a football-obsessed Odessa, Texas, for the big screen. The movie won't be a sequel but will tackle the impact of high-school football on a small community. If it's anything like the other adaptations, we can't wait.
