Investigative Journalist of the Week
Christina Ricci and Judith Light have been tapped to star in a movie based on the life of Nellie Bly, a 19th century investigative journalist who, among other notable stories, wrote an exposé about the care of the mentally ill after faking a mental illness of her own in order to be committed to an asylum. Her articles were the basis for her book "Ten Days in a Mad House" (1887), which is the source of the story in the movie. Ricci will play Nellie herself, while Light will star as Matron Grady, the head nurse who tortured her patients into submission.
