Recasting of the Week
You could hear jaws drop and pop all throughout the movie industry this week when Sony announced that Ridley Scott and the cast and crew of his upcoming crime drama All the Money in the World made the decision to edit out Kevin Spacey from the picture and reshoot his scenes with Christopher Plummer, who assumes the role of J. Paul Getty. It's a gutsy and honorable move on Scott's part, especially because insiders had already been tracking the breakneck speed with which Scott was filming, editing, and completing the film for its Dec. 22 rollout. Bonus points for Scott's announcement that he fully intends to stick to the release date.
