Ben Schwartz pitched a Sonic the Hedgehog spinoff film featuring characters from a competing IP. He acknowledged that a Sonic crossover with Super Mario Bros. is a wild idea but not a remote possibility. He jumped on the prospect of starring in a spinoff based on Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, the 2007 video game released for the Nintendo DS and Wii. "There's two things I would love. I love Chris Pratt," he told Variety. "I think he's amazing, and he plays Mario — which we probably shouldn't talk about in this interview — but the Olympic Games is great."
