This TV movie was edited from scenes of two episodes ("Breakaway" and "War Games") of Spazio: 1999 (1975).
Originally intended for theatrical release.
New scenes were filmed for this compilation consisting of the main office and boardroom of the International Lunar Finance Committee. These scenes were written by Dennis Spooner (writer of episodes of past Gerry Anderson programs including UFO) and directed by Bill Lenny. Four actors appeared as board members; Patrick Allen, Weston Gavin, Marc Smith (who also narrated), and the fourth is unknown; these characters periodically updated the events during the "Breakaway" segment. The year of this adventure had been changed from 1999 to 2100, and after the moon has broken away from Earth, Simmonds has been announced as dead (as was depicted in the episode's original novelization by E.C. Tubb).
Final film of Valerie Van Ost.
