During the whole shoot, Marion Cotillard didn't talk to Melvil Poupaud, who found it very disturbing. Only after shooting did she explain to him that she did it to amplify the hatred between the two characters, and she apologized for it.

Filmed between October and December 2021. Filming took place in the cities of Paris, Lille and Roubaix in France.

Director Arnaud Desplechin's third collaboration with actress Marion Cotillard. The previous were Comment je me suis disputé... (ma vie sexuelle) (1996) and I fantasmi d'Ismael (2017).

The play that Alice enacts at the end is "The Dead", the acclaimed tale from the book "Dubliners" by James Joyce.
