A 3-D remake of this cult classic is in the works! YAY!
This movie is funny, gruesome, and very unique in the realm of zombie films. François Hadji-Lazaro gives one of the most memorable performances ever as an outcast in love with a living corpse.
Peter Jackson's magnum opus when it comes to outrageous horror. After proving himself a master of the genre, he moved into fantasy with Heavenly Creatures, The Frighteners, and finally became one of the most powerful and respected filmmakers ever with his Oscar winning LOTR trilogy.
The recent film by the same title was not a remake at all, but rather a separate high-budget film that also happens to be freakin' awesome. However, this is a list of B-horror films, and the original Mother's Day certainly earns a spot as one of the best ever for its deranged vision of a couple psychopath rapists who will do anything it takes to please their Mom.
I have a full review of this freakish film that was obviously inspired by Wizard of Gore, but improved upon with the addition of a sadistic midget and long-lasting scenes of torture.
The great effects really get under my skin in this movie about flesh-eating cockroaches terrorizing a town. This film is not played for laughs - roaches are icky and disgusting..this movie takes advantage of that and makes them scary as well.
Detective - "I've got good news and bad news. The good news is your dates are here."
Girl - "What's the bad news?"
Detective - "They're dead."
Herschell Gordon Lewis is the Godfather of slasher films and this movie is a campy horroriffic classic.
