Editors' Picks: Our Favorite Things From the Week of August 133 of 12
TV Character Fixation of the Week
We love the sinister world that "Ozark" has created, and the only thing we enjoy more than the wordplay that manages to save Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) from death at every turn is the tentative relationship he's building with Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner), a seasoned petty criminal with serious mastermind potential who, narratively speaking, fits into the story seamlessly, like a curly-haired Jesse Pinkman. We're two episodes from the finale (every good streaming show deserves to be savored in our opinion), and there's no other character (sorry, Byrde kids) we hope takes on a major role in Season 2, which was announced by Netflix this week.
