A few years ago, the American Film Institute unveiled its Top 25 actors of the 20th century, male legends who graced the silver screen during Hollywood Golden Age (movie debut in or before 1950). Have a look at this
list and you'll notice some absences and not the least prestigious ones.
Granted it was a difficult, if not impossible, task to satisfy all the fans who wished their favorite stars could be in, some non-inclusions are quite surprising and rather infuriating. As strange as it sounds, none of these 25 gentlemen made it in the Top 25 and there's no denial that they are icons from the classic era.
Which of these actors' absence do you find the most (unpleasantly) surprising?
After voting,
you might discuss the list here(to stay faithful to the spirit of the original list, character actors or actors used to play supporting roles weren't included, sorry fans of Peter Lorre or Walter Brennan)
