One of the Most Sadistic Moments of Christian Bale’s The Dark Knight Was Not Directed by Christopher Nolan
Image
Christopher Nolan had a unique vision when he took up Christian Bale’s Batman movies. The Dark Knight went on to become a classic in his filmography, a huge thanks to the memorable performance of Heath Ledger as the Joker. When his casting was first announced, Ledger’s casting faced widespread criticism, with many calling it a poor choice.

However, not only did he bring a remarkable performance to the screen, but he was also involved in some of the behind-the-scenes duties. He directed some disconcerting moments in the film with the permission of Nolan, who was impressed with the actor’s vision and allowed the scenes in his film.

How Christian Bale was Cast in American Psycho
Image
Sometimes, a movie character is cast so perfectly that you can’t even fathom another actor playing the role. Cue Christian Bale in American Psycho, a career-launching breakout performance as Patrick Bateman, the greedy, materialistic Wall Street yuppie who moonlights as a murderous, stark-raving mad psycho killer while trying to preserve his public mask of sanity. Whether it’s all in his mind, Bale plays Bateman with such outward surety and inward insecurity, such brooding intensity and mordant comedy at once, that he keeps viewers guessing about Bateman’s sick, twisted, hyperviolent fantasies.

To think that director Mary Harron had to fight tooth and nail to cast Bateman in the role is preposterous to consider now, 25 years after the film was released. But again, even if Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt played Patrick Bateman, both of whom were attached to the role at one point, neither would likely strike the...

10 Worst Cameos In DC Movies & TV Shows
Image
Like love and marriage, comic book movies and cameos are an institute you cannot disparage. Marvel might be the trailblazer in this regard, finding unique and innovative ways to shoehorn everyone and their uncle into a movie or TV show, but DC isn't immune from turning its audience into a real-life Pointing Rick Dalton meme. Yet, for every great appearance, there's also a flubber -- a moment that flops harder than "Joker: Folie à Deux" did at the box office.

Take a look at 2023's "The Flash" as an example. With all its multiversal potential, minds raced to the infinite possibilities, imagining the chances of seeing Christian Bale's Batman return for a triumphant third act cameo or even seeing Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern fly in for a visit. Instead, it turned into a CGI horrorfest where the tributes to past heroes angered -- rather than captivated -- viewers. It...

Rediscovering ‘Public Enemies’: The Christian Bale-Michael Mann Partnership You Might Have Missed
Christian Bale at an event for The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Image Source: Universal Pictures Home Entertainment Christian Bale has worked with some truly amazing directors during his impressive career. As a young boy, he got his big break with Steven Spielberg in Empire of the Sun. Years later, he teamed up with Christopher Nolan to create the unforgettable Batman in The Dark Knight movies and delivered a haunting performance in The Prestige. And who could forget the collaboration with Michael Mann? Bale has a unique gift for finding directors who are able to tap into his greatness, and help him disappear into his characters, throughout the course of his career in Hollywood. Most people think of his collaborations with Spielberg and Nolan; they don’t remember how Bale has worked with Mann, the director of the taut thrillers Heat and The Insider, and the man responsible for bringing Hannibal Lecter to the big screen in Manhunter. This powerful collaboration happened...

Chloë Sevigny wants to play Jean again in the American Psycho remake
Mary Harron
2025 marks the 25th anniversary of director Mary Harron’s Bret Easton Ellis adaptation American Psycho (watch it Here), which has come to be known as a cult classic – and while fans celebrate the anniversary, director Luca Guadagnino, whose credits include Challengers, Call Me By Your Name, Bones and All, Queer, and the Suspiria remake, is gearing up to take the helm of an American Psycho remake. Guadagnino reportedly signed on to direct the film from a screenplay by Scott Z. Shutout | David O Russell adds Jenna Ortega, Robert De Niro to new film
David O. Russell
David O Russell has Shutout on his slate, with Jenna Ortega and Robert De Niro set to star. More on the film here.

Back in the 1980s, Martin Scorsese went through a period of being a director for hire and being Martin Scorsese, the results were a joy to watch. Perhaps the most fun film to watch from the Goodfellas director’s ‘gun for hire’ era was 1986’s The Color Of Money, a thrilling sports drama starring Paul Newman and Tom Cruise visiting smoky pool halls and parting locals from their hard-earned cash.

The pool hustling genre is a pretty shallow one and nothing has arrived in the decades since to spirit away The Color Of Money's crown. A couple of contenders tried at the turn of the century, including Pool Hall Junkies and Stickmen. It feels like a long, long time since we’ve even seen a high...

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
‘Terminator: Dark Fate’: A Franchise Rekindled A Flicker Of The Past
Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Image Source: Paramount Pictures The year was 1991, and the ground shifted. Terminator 2: Judgment Day didn’t just smash box office records; it redefined cinematic sequels and etched itself into the halls of sci-fi legend. The liquid metal T-1000, the protective T-800, the relentless stakes – it was a masterclass. Then came the inevitable return in 2003 with Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, followed by a detour into the past with Christian Bale leading the prequel, Terminator Salvation. But the pull of the future (and the past) is strong. In 2015, Terminator Genisys attempted a reboot, and then, in 2019, the iconic roar of the Terminator engine echoed once more with Terminator: Dark Fate. This time, however, felt different. For the first time since the groundbreaking Terminator 2, the visionary director and writer himself, James Cameron, returned to the franchise, not to direct, but to produce and shape the story. And that wasn’t all.

'The White Lotus' Star Would Love To Lead 'American Psycho' Remake
Image
Patrick Schwarzeneggerhas shown some love towards an upcoming remake, revealing that he would like to have a part in it. The star of HBO's "resort people are the worst" series, The White Lotus, most likely saw his career go one step up after the success of Season 3, where he played an annoying rich young man who saw his insecurities arise while staying at the Thai branch of the hotel. Nevertheless, there's one specific role that Patrick is apparently seeking, and that is Patrick Bateman, the main character in the thrillerAmerican Psycho.

A reboot of American Psycho is currently in development, with Suspiria and Challengers director Luca Guadagnino at the helm. Casting for this new adaptation remains to be confirmed, and while Elvis' Austin Butler always seemed like an obvious frontrunner, Guadagnino has simply not talked about the new Patrick Bateman.

Per Deadline, the movie is described as a "pool hustler feature". De Niro will star as Jake Kejeune, one of the last masters of the art of pool hustling. "Having lived and lost by the roll of a ball in smoky backroom halls, Jake encounters Mia (Jenna Ortega), a young prodigy whose raw, electrifying talent reignites a fire he thought long extinguished," the official description reads.

Jake will take Mia under his wing, helping her to refine her instincts, as the two find themselves going deeper into the world of "high-stakes pool" where they walk a tight rope between unthinkable riches and devastating losses. The film's description goes on to tease potential conflict between De Niro and Ortega's characters.

'I Would've Loved to': Alec Baldwin Reveals Why Tim Burton Didn't Cast Him as Batman
Image
Michael Keaton famously starred as the Dark Knight in both of Tim Burton's Batman movies, and his performance remains a favorite for many fans of the DC character. The role could have gone to the actor's Beetlejuice co-star, Alec Baldwin, but Burton didn't feel he was right for the role.

Baldwin discussed the subject during a recent interview for his brother Stephen Baldwin's podcast One Bad Movie. He noted how his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, has a role as Vicki Vale in the original Batman film by Burton. Baldwin then explained that Basinger told him that she'd spoken with Burton about why he wound up casting Keaton as Bruce Wayne. This was said to be because Burton was looking for someone who'd make a more believable Bruce Wayne than Batman, and the director was having trouble imagining Baldwin such a troubled character.

"Well, back then, he said, he told my ex-wife,...

Chloë Sevigny Pitched Luca Guadagnino To Reprise Her ‘American Psycho’ Role
Image
As Hollywood patiently awaits a new Patrick Bateman, one American Psycho (2000) alum wants to reprise their role.

Chloë Sevigny, who can next be seen in Luca Guadagnino‘s thriller After the Hunt, revealed she pitched the director on revisiting the character of Patrick’s secretary Jean in his upcoming adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ 1991 book.

“When I heard that [Guadagnino] was maybe doing it … I pitched to him that I should play Jean again, and that they do that reverse-aging on me,” she told IndieWire. “I thought that would be something that he would be into, conceptually having the same actress play the same part.”

Sevigny added, “But I don’t know. He said he was going to think of something else for me.”

Original ‘American Psycho’ Star Can Very Much Return in Luca Guadagnino’s Remake and Now I Want Christian Bale Back
Image
As far as remakes and legacy sequels go, which often can be summed up as a product of corporate greed, the upcoming American Psycho might bring something new to the table. Earlier this year, Luca Guadagnino, the mind behind hits, including Challengers and Call Me By Your Name, teased a new adaptation of the Bret Easton Ellis novel, with a script from Scott Z. Burns.

Although the movie is said to be a new adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ novel rather than a remake of the Christian Bale-starrer, Chloë Sevigny, who was involved in the first movie, was hoping to return in this retelling.

'Do That Reverse-Aging on Me': American Psycho Star Wants to Reprise Role in Upcoming Reboot
Image
American Psycho's Chloë Sevigny is ready to reprise her role in Luca Guadagnino's new adaptation. She's already talked with him about having a part in the new picture.

Sevigny originally starred opposite Christian Bale in the 2000 American Psycho film as Jean, Patrick Bateman's (Bale) secretary. It's a role that Sevigny seems eager to reprise in a new adaptation of the controversial Bret Easton Ellis novel. "When I heard that [Luca Guadagnino] was maybe doing it, I don’t know if he is for sure. I thought he was doing a World War II picture," Sevigny told IndieWire. "I pitched to him that I should play Jean again, and that they do that reverse-aging on me."

It appears that Guadgnino wasn't quite as enthusiastic about the idea. "I thought that would be something that he would be into, conceptually having the same actress play the same part. But I don’t know.

This isn’t the first time the “White Lotus” star has expressed interest in playing the murderous Wall Street banker. Back in 2024, in a reply to Variety‘s X post reporting Guadagnino’s undertaking of a new “American Psycho” film, Schwarzenegger wrote, “My dream.”

Back in late 2024, Variety exclusively reported that Butler was in talks to star in Guadagnino’s “American Psycho” as Patrick Bateman, a role originated by Christian Bale in 2000. However, no further developments have been made toward Butler joining the film,...

Patrick Schwarzenegger Had “Fun” Filming Incest Scenes, Now He Wants to Dissect Girls in ‘American Psycho’ Remake
Image
Patrick Schwarzenegger has once again opened up about his wish to succeed Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman on screen. Schwarzenegger is a long-time fan of American Psycho and has been vocal about his desire to take over the role of Patrick Bateman in the remake.

But Patrick Schwarzenegger’s insane desire to “dissect girls” does not sound unnatural after how he recently became the talk of the town for an incestuous s*x scene in The White Lotus Season 3. While the world was shocked to see the moment between Saxon Ratliff and his younger brother, Schwarzenegger revealed that he had “fun” filming the controversial scene.

Chloë Sevigny Offers to Return as Jean in New American Psycho
Chloë Sevigny
Chloë Sevigny has expressed interest in returning as Jean, the character she portrayed in the 2000 adaptation of American Psycho, for Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming film based on the same source material. “I pitched to him that I should play Jean again and that they do that reverse-aging on me,” she said in a recent IndieWire interview. “I thought that would be something that he would be into, conceptually having the same actress play the same part.” According to Sevigny, Guadagnino responded by saying he was thinking of another role for her.

Casting for the film is ongoing. The role of Patrick Bateman, the affluent New York investment banker with a violent secret life, has not yet been filled. The original film featured Christian Bale as Bateman and was directed by Mary Harron.

Gal Gadot Is Ditching the Tiara for Trauma in ‘Ruin,’ After ‘Snow White’ Downfall
Image
Mark your watchlists, a new Gal Gadot movie is in the works. We’re still reeling from all the controversy surrounding that subpar Snow White remake. Regardless, the actor who became a household name with Wonder Woman has no time for such trivialities in life. She has been busy lately. And from the looks of things, it’s for all the right reasons.

Soon, everyone will forget about Snow White’s politically charged backlash that (quite distastefully) managed to drag even the Israel-Palestine conflict into its midst. That’s just how Hollywood’s ruthless engine has functioned for a long time. Nevertheless, Gadot’s new movie is bound to give many talking heads something new to talk about. After all, she’s stepping into the shoes of a “newly released camp prisoner” in post-wwii Germany.

Patrick Schwarzenegger is hoping to take a stab at a choice role that happens to bear his first name.

Schwarzenegger, who has made no secret over the years of his affinity for American Psycho, is continuing to publicly voice his interest in lead character Patrick Bateman in director Luca Guadagnino’s planned feature adaptation of author Bret Easton Ellis’ 1991 best-selling novel. ‘The Avengers Are Not Coming’: Where Exactly Are the Avengers During ‘Thunderbolts’?
Image
If there’s one thing that’s been made especially clear in the last few years of Marvel movies — and now even more so in “Thunderbolts*” — it’s that the Avengers are gone, and Earth is sorely missing its mightiest heroes. But what exactly happened to all of them?

It can be hard to remember where everyone ended up after “Avengers: Endgame,” especially because in the six years since that movie came out, there have been 25 new projects (split between TV series and movies). So, we figured it was about time to take stock, especially since that final line-up of Avengers was pretty extensive.

Here’s what happened to everyone, and why they haven’t shown up in awhile.

Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) Marvel Studios

Nick Fury isn’t technically an Avenger, but he is of course the man responsible for bringing Earth’s Mightiest Heroes together — and thus...

When Kit Harington Admitted That Bella Ramsey Embarrassed Him On Game of Thrones Set By Mouthing His Lines
Image
Was Kit Harington embarrassed by Bella Ramsey?(Photo Credit –Facebook)

Before The Last of Us catapulted Bella Ramsey into the HBO spotlight, they were already turning heads in Westeros. At just 11 years old, Ramsey made a splash on Game of Thrones as the fierce Lady Lyanna Mormont — and apparently, even seasoned actors like Kit Harington weren’t immune to being outshone.

In a recent chat for Interview Magazine, the two stars revisited their first scene together on Thrones. And Ramsey didn’t hold back when recalling a hilariously awkward moment on set. “I don’t know whether you remember this,” they said to Harington, “but I remember it quite vividly and have some remorse for it now, but during that scene I was mouthing your lines to you.”

Yep — Ramsey, then a fresh-faced preteen, was subtly coaching Jon Snow himself through his dialogue. Bold move, but it came from a good place.

The Umbrella Academy Powers Ranked: Who’s The Strongest Hargreeves Sibling?
Image
Which Hargreeves’ sibling has the strongest power?(Photo Credit –Facebook)

Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy presented the world with the most chaotic sibling dynamics. The show primarily revolves around 7 Hargreeves siblings, born on the same day and adopted by the eccentric billionaire Reginald Hargreeves. The squad gets trained and turned into a dysfunctional superhero family as they try to save the world from its doom. Across four seasons, the powers of the Hargreeves siblings have evolved along with their relationship dynamics. But which one among them is the strongest?

Let’s start with Luther, Number One. He’s got super strength, and thanks to a life-altering serum, the upper body of an ape. He’s loyal and brave, but his abilities, though impressive in a brawl, don’t measure up to some of his siblings in terms of sheer destructive potential. Diego, Number Two, is a knife-throwing vigilante who can...
