Earlier this week, we got a first look at what appeared to be a downed Sentinel on the set of Avengers: Doomsday. Now, we have a birds-eye view offering a clearer shot at the mutant-hunting robot's legs (in what's believed to be the X-Mansion's grounds).

We also have reason to believe that we'll see the remains of more than one Sentinel, as you can see below.

Unfortunately, the legs are still covered up, but the photographer who took these shots has confirmed that the footprints they've seen elsewhere on set match the Sentinel design from the comics.

Sentinels attacking the X-Men's home is par for the course in the comics, so this could be part of a major battle we'll see in the movie or the fallout from a previous battle. We also wouldn't discount the possibility of this being a Danger Room training exercise meant to show us what...

When you think of Captain Planet and The Planeteers, what comes to mind? Sadly, instead of the cartoon, the hilarious Don Cheadle sketch is probably the first thing you think of. It’s not your fault; it's been decades since the animated series debuted. Thankfully, David Pepose (Cable: Love and Chrome) will change that. He’s bringing his love of older cartoons like Space Ghost and giving comic book fans Captain Planet. This writer has read the first issue, and it’s fantastic.

You’ll fall in love with Captain Planet right from the beginning. Not because he saves Gaia with his extraordinary powers or that he makes jokes (though that doesn’t hurt). It's because he doesn’t like bullies. And, despite his aforementioned superpowers, he has the same weaknesses as he did in the cartoon. He can be taken down with pollutants. In this case, he's shot with bullets made from depleted uranium.

Are you in the mood to stream an Oscar-nominated dramatic thriller starring Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington? If you answered yes, I’ve got you covered, dear reader. The film in question is Robert Zemeckis’ 2012 tale of a troubled airline pilot, Flight. Zemeckis helmed from a script penned by John Gatins (Real Steel).

Flight was nominated for two Oscars in 2013. The Academy nominated Washington for Best Actor in a Leading Role and Gatins for Best Original Screenplay.

The setup for this tense effort starring Denzel Washington is this:

Commercial airline pilot Whip Whitaker (Washington) has a problem with drugs and alcohol, though so far he’s managed to complete his flights safely. His luck runs out when a disastrous mechanical malfunction sends his plane hurtling toward the ground. Whip pulls off a miraculous crash-landing that results in only six lives lost. Shaken to the core, Whip vows to get sober.

Marvel Studios delivered plenty of exciting surprises during the Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal, including the return of some familiar faces from 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise. There were some huge omissions, though, and even with production underway, it feels like this ensemble is far from complete.

While Kevin Feige has confirmed it wasn't the full cast, one of the most disappointing omissions was Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox.

Talking to Collider, the actor was asked about not getting a chair and replied, "It’s not there, is it? [Laughs] Listen, the way that information gets to us is the same way that it gets to everyone else normally. At least historically, that's been the case. Someone sent me the link. I looked for my name. It's not there. So, maybe one day [Laughs]."

Avengers: Doomsday started shooting in the UK earlier this week, and the cast just assembled for a screening of Thunderbolts*.

Last month, the Marvel Studios social media accounts started live-streaming a video they labeled as an all-caps Announcement. The video showed a soundstage where, one by one, chairs reserved for actors were revealed, with a new chair coming into view every 10 minutes or so. The Fantastic Four: First Steps star Pedro Pascal made a big statement at the London premiere of Marvel Studios Thunderbolts*, showing his support for the transgender community at a time when anti-transgender sentiment is on the rise. Pascal will star as Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and will reprise his role in both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. He has become one of the world's biggest actors, and he is using his status to shine a light on an issue close to his heart.

At the premiere of Thunderbolts*in London, Pedro Pascal wore a white T-shirt that said "Protect the Dolls" on it, via People. "Dolls" is an affectionate term used in the LGBTQ+ community to refer to transgender women. The shirt is part of 28-year-old American designer Conner Ives's campaign efforts to highlight the increasing anti-transgender sentiment that trans women are experiencing around the world.

Alright, let’s talk about Thunderbolts*, Marvel’s big team-up movie that’s kinda like The Suicide Squad but dressed in MCU seriousness. But here’s the thing: Thunderbolts* is walking on a pretty wobbly tightrope. It’s got a stacked cast of morally grey misfits like Bucky and Yelena, a dark, edgy vibe, and big crossover energy, yet there’s this lingering feeling that Marvel might’ve tossed in a few too many wild cards. Someone really thought it was a great idea to throw Sentry, a dude with the power of a million exploding suns, into a squad full of glorified super spies.

Michelle Williams appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen this week, revisiting her experience filming Brokeback Mountain and reflecting on the response the movie received during its 2005 release. While promoting her upcoming FX series Dying for Sex, Williams responded to Cohen’s comments about the film’s lasting effect.

Cohen opened the conversation by expressing how much the film meant to him personally. “May I gush to you about what an important movie Brokeback Mountain was to me, and it is still I think in my top two movies of all time,” he said. He asked Williams whether she sensed its cultural weight while working on it. Williams responded, “Yes, because people were so open about it.”

She spoke about her experience during the press tour, saying, “I just remember doing the junket and you don’t get an opportunity to see a lot of grown men cry.

Michelle Williams swung by “Watch What Happens Live” on Thursday and learning that “Brokeback Mountain” — the 2005 cowboy romance that earned her her first Oscar nomination — is one of host Andy Cohen’s favorite movies, took part in some light ribbing of the often-maligned race drama that beat it at the Oscars for Best Picture, “Crash.”

(Haggis was later found liable on three counts of rape and sexual abuse in 2022.) “Crash” won Best Picture at the 2006 Oscars, despite Ang Lee’s queer Western romance “Brokeback Mountain” having already won Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Original Score.

“Brokeback Mountain” starred Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger as two closeted cowboys who leave their wives, played by Anne Hathaway and Williams, for a few days every few years. The film was adapted from Annie Proulx’s novella by Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana.

Marvel just dropped the cast list for Avengers: Doomsday, and, well, it was a lot to take in. In a five-hour live stream on YouTube that felt like a Yoko Ono performance piece and a test for even the most patient fans (as interesting as watching paint dry), an endless row of empty chairs slowly gained name tags – Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, and on and on it went. One by one, names appeared, some expected, some not as much, until Robert Downey Jr. showed up, shut it down, and left me with more questions than answers.

The 27 confirmed names did not have all of the usual suspects but focused on a few returning Avengers, the Thunderbolts, the new Fantastic Four, and, most surprisingly, the classic X-Men from the Fox era. Armor Wars has long been announced to arrive in the McU's Phase 6 as an Iron Man spin-off, but after years of production not starting, many fans are wondering if Marvel Studios have canceled the project altogether.

7. So Much For Disney+...

Marvel Studios has invested heavily in its streaming shows since WandaVision launched in 2021. However, the characters who have solely made their presence felt on Disney+ are conspicuous by their absence in the Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal.

Fans of the MCU had plenty to celebrate when Marvel Studios officially announced who would be joining Robert Downey Jr. in the cast of Avengers: Doomsday. Most notably, Chris Hemsworth will return as Thor along with several actors who starred in either Avengers: Infinity War and/or Avengers: Endgame, including Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, and Tom Hiddleston. Over the last five or so hours, Marvel Studios has been confirming who will be starring in the long-awaited upcoming Avengers movie, which has officially begun production. Steven Soderbergh almost didn’t make “Black Bag.”

When he and “Jurassic Park” writer David Koepp first began collaborating, Koepp brought Soderbergh a handful of ideas. One of those was “Black Bag.” Soderbergh didn’t spark to the concept, instead choosing to focus on “Presence,” a ghost story that premiered at Sundance in 2024 and was released by Neon earlier this year.

Soderbergh said that he still encouraged Koepp to write it. “It was more of a case of, Dude, just write it.
