She began her modeling career after she was spotted waiting tables during her freshman year at Hofstra University, which she attended on an ROTC scholarship. She dropped out of school to move to Manhattan, where she became one of the top models of the 1980s. When her modeling career ended after eight years, she turned to acting, and has appeared in more than 45 European films. - Discovered while waiting tables in a restaurant during her freshman Year at Hofstra University, Carol Alt became a successful model with the Elite Agency. After a long career gracing the covers of many magazines and appearing in exercise videos, she began acting in European films. Most of her films are made and released in Italy. Besides appearing in "Sports Illustrated" swimsuit videos, she has also worked on the second "Supermodels in the Rainforest" project. Both Entertainment Tonight (1981) and Access Hollywood (1996) have run stories about her and occasionally she is a guest commentator.
