Frances Tiafoe made some surprising moves in his team as he parted ways with coach Wayne Ferreira, opting for Coco Gauff's former coach.
Frances Tiafoe has been touted as a very talented player for years, but the American only recently started to really perform the way many thought he could. It was last year when Tiafoe made a breakout with a few strong performances, most notably at the US Open, where he narrowly missed out on the US Open final.
This year, Tiafoe continued playing well and was actually consistent for a chance, which saw him become a Top 10 player at one point. It seemed impossible just a few years ago because he rarely found his best tennis.
Much of what went right with Tiafoe recently has been attributed to his work ethic but also his partnership with former player Wayne Ferreira. They were a really great team, and...

Novak Djokovic's coach, Goran Ivanisevic, did not win the Atp's 2023 Coach of the Year award, and many were upset about it, including the Serbian himself.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion had one of the best seasons in his career, with his coach Ivanisevic guiding him along the way. However, it was Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi who won the Coach of the Year award, as they led Jannik Sinner during the 2023 season.
Immediately after the award was announced, many fans were enraged by the fact that it wasn't Djokovic's coach who got the award. Their rage was later supported by Djokovic as he also hit out at the Atp in a social media post.
But was Ivanisevic really snubbed when it comes to the Coach of the Year award, or was it given in-line with the past seasons and former winners? Well, let's look at the history.

Most established tennis stars have always sought to harness their reputations not solely with their rackets but through humanitarian efforts.
These players have used their platforms and financial resources to aid the underprivileged to access quality education, improved healthcare, and a better life. In hindsight, they always look for avenues to give back to society because of their vast riches.
One way that happens is through establishing not-for-profit foundations and leveraging their star power to organize exhibition events. The most iconic and proficient doubles team in tennis history, comprised of the two twin brothers, Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan, managed such a cause.
The Bryan brothers partnered with Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation (Nchf), co-founded by former golf great Jack Nicklaus and his wife Barbara. The Nchf is a charitable organization that gives children and families access to world-class pediatric health care.

When Naomi Osaka left the tour on her maternity leave nearly almost 12 months ago, some of her most important pillars in the coaching team moved on to pursue other ventures.
Wim Fisette, her tennis coach, had actually left the role by mutual consent six months earlier. Under the Belgian's tutelage, Osaka won two of her four Grand Slam titles.
When she relayed the news of her pregnancy in January 2023, her performance coach, Florian Zitzelsberger, had left his role to work with German player Jule Niemeier.
But since giving birth to her first child and embarking on the long road to full fitness ahead of the new season , Osaka decided to assemble the same band that steered her to success both on and off the court. The 2017 US Open finalist, Kevin Anderson lost already in the second round of the 2023 qualifying tournament to Tomas Machac.
Making a comeback is never easy, and that's something that the tall South African was certainly aware of when he announced his return to tennis in July this year . His first Atp tournament back was great as Anderson managed to get a couple of wins and reach the quarterfinals of the 2023 Newport Open.
However, after that, he lost in the first round of the 2023 Citi Open in Washington after receiving a wild card , and after skipping the Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Masters, the qualifying for the 2023 US Open followed for Anderson.
In 2017, Anderson played the final at Flushing Meadows, and even though his ambitions certainly weren't that big this year, he surely wanted to at least qualify for the main draw, something that seemed to be doable after the first-round win over Oleksii Krutykh.

The 2023 Citi Open in Washington is one of the Atp 500 tournaments that offers a 64-man draw , and thanks to that also many interesting matchups.
Running from July 31st to August 6th, the 2023 Citi Open in Washington, also called the 2023 Mubadala Citi DC Open, will be held without the defending champion as Nick Kyrgios was forced to withdraw from the tournament .
He wasn't the only one as projected top seed Daniil Medvedev also pulled out , and Denis Shapovalov also announced his withdrawal . But even despite these withdrawals, the tournament still has a lot to offer.
With many American players in the draw, Taylor Fritz is seeded first, and like all the first sixteen seeded players, he has a Bye in the first round, focusing on his second-round match-up. For the highest-ranked American in the Atp Rankings , that will be a match against either a qualifier or Max Purcell.

Ben Shelton has received a late wild card at next week's Atp Citi Open in Washington as he steps up his preparations for a busy summer on home soil.
Shelton joins some of the Tour's veterans, such as Kevin Anderson and Gael Monfils as wild card entrants in the nation's capital as he aims to bounce back from his shock straight sets defeat to Shang Juncheng in Atlanta. Shelton reacted to the news on his Instagram and looks super pumped for the occasion.

Kevin Anderson is back to the Atp Tour and his first match back at the 2023 Newport Open has been more than impressive.
After being away from the competition for over a year, the South African surprised everyone when he announced his return to tennis . He recently revealed that Roger Federer played a role in his comeback , but the Swiss Maestro wasn't on the tennis court in his first-round match, and Anderson had to rely only on his qualities.
Anderson’s return to the tennis court was no less than spectacular. He took on World No. 141, Gabriel Diallo, in what became a display of the old, charismatic Anderson we remember. Diallo, who played 10 matches on the grass court this year, was no match for Anderson's flawless game. Despite the long break, Anderson demonstrated that class is indeed permanent.

Former Wimbledon finalist Kevin Anderson is coming back to tennis, and he spoke with the Atp about how Roger Federer actually contributed to his decision to attempt a comeback.
Kevin Anderson had a fine career by the time he retired, but the South African felt he had more to give. Still, his body really didn't work with him in that regard, as he was dealing with pains and aches, which is an experience many tennis players can relate to.
Anderson ultimately hung it up after the 2022 Miami Open being unable to handle the challenges of playing tennis regularly. But, a year and a half later, the South African is coming back to the sport. He announced his return by accepting a wild card entry into the 2023 Newport Open

The 2023 Newport Open will run from July 17th to 23rd, and the draw has been revealed for the Atp 250 tournament.
Also called the Hall of Fame Open, the tournament in Newport, Rhode Island in the United States, is the last grass-court tournament in the calendar, and the only tournament played on the grass surface after the conclusion of the third Grand Slam of the season.
Last year saw Maxime Cressy and Alexander Bublik battle it out in the final, after which the Kazakhstani player hilariously told his opponent that he was lucky . This year, the runner-up won't play in Newport, while the defending champion will be present at the event.
Cressy is the fifth seed, and in the first round of the tournament, he will play against fellow American Alex Michelsen. But the main storyline of the tournament will certainly be the shocking comeback of Kevin Anderson who retired only a couple of years ago.

New York, Sep 12 (Ians) Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz displayed explosive power and demonstrated impressive touch around the net as he overcame a fighting Norwegian Casper Ruud 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(1), 6-3 to clinch his maiden Grand Slam trophy — the US Open crown — and secure the world No. 1 ranking on Monday (Ist).
The 19-year-old Alcaraz won 76 per cent of net points (34/45) to outlast his opponent inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium after a nearly three hours and 20 minute slugfest. This was Alcaraz’s 51st tour-level victory of the season
Drained of energy, Alcaraz dropped to the floor following the victory and then climbed up the stands to embrace his coach and former player Juan Carlos Ferrero.
“It is something I have dreamt of since I was a kid. To be No. 1 in the world, to be champion of a Grand Slam, is something I have worked really, really hard (for),” Alcaraz was quoted as saying by Atp.

November 5th is a historical day, but probably not for the reasons you’re thinking of. On this day in 1955, genius inventor Dr. Emmet Brown discovered the secret to time travel and changed the world forever. Or at least, he changed the world of sci-fi fans and 80s movie lovers forever. Yes, today is Back to the Future Day!
In the 1985 classic, Christopher Lloyd’s Doc Brown sets the date for his very first trip in his time-traveling DeLorean for November 5th, 1955, as it was such an important moment in his life. When Libyan terrorists storm his testing site, though, he’s apparently killed and Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) takes off in his place. Arriving on November 5th 30 years (now 65 years) before, Marty has to convince the younger Doc to help him get the DeLorean up and running again.

The goal of any new streaming service worth its salt is consolidation. We’ve got a lot of major entertainment conglomerates now and each one of them needs a streaming home to consolidate its content on. With that in mind, WarnerMedia’s HBO Max is undoubtedly the biggest streaming release since Disney+ last year.
When AT&T acquired Time Warner and all its holdings in 2016, the newly-branded WarnerMedia subsidiary needed a place to house thousands of Warner movies, and other series, films, and documentaries from Warner-branded studios like CNN, TNT, TBS, The CW, Adult Swim, and much more. Enter HBO Max. Though HBO Max is named after Warner’s original premier streaming and cable entity in HBO, this is much more than just an “upgraded” version of HBO. HBO Max is the juggernaut WarnerMedia streaming service AT&T promised.

WarnerMedia has spent the last year or so building a library of licensed and original content for its forthcoming streaming platform HBO Max, launching in May 2020 at the price point of $14.99 per month.

So in case everyone at home wasn’t keeping up, here is a list of everything (that we know of) coming to HBO Max.

WarnerMedia is diving full-bore into the streaming wars with HBO Max — a subscription service slated to bow next spring, stocked with HBO programming, original series, Warner Bros. movies and library content including the full 10-season run of “Friends.”
There’s no pricing info yet for HBO Max, nor is it fully clear how much content from HBO will be included in the subscription VOD package. The standalone HBO Now service currently costs $15 per month, so presumably HBO Max will cost more if it includes big chunks of what’s on HBO plus a slew of other content.
WarnerMedia says it expects HBO Max to have 10,000 hours of premium video content at launch. On Tuesday, it outlined some of the key shows that will be available.

The Minutes, a 2018 Pulitzer Prize finalist by Tracy Letts, will make its Broadway premiere next February, reuniting the playwright with his August: Osage County director Anna D. Shapiro, producers Jeffrey Richards and Steve Traxler announced today.
Shapiro, who won the 2008 Tony Award for her direction of Letts’ August, directed the premiere production of The Minutes at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre in 2017. The 90-minute play features a cast of eleven actors. The Chicago cast included Kevin Anderson, William Petersen, Ian Barford, Francis Guinan and Sally Murphy.
The producers described the play as a “brisk, scathing new comedy about small-town politics and real-world power. Full of chicanery, back-stabbing, manipulation and perhaps some mistruths, the play refracts the current state of America and our politics through a town meeting in the very small fictional city of Big Cherry.”

Hollywood star Julia Roberts' classic movie Sleeping With The Enemy is set to be remade. The 1991 thriller stars the actress as a desperate woman who fakes her own death to escape her abusive husband. Now, 28 years later, studio officials at Fox Searchlight Pictures are working on a modern version of the same story, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Rising moviemaker Nia DaCosta has been tapped to write and direct the project, which will be developed by The Iron Lady producer Damian Jones, as part of his new Fox deal, according to Deadline.com.
Further details about the movie revamp are yet to be announced.
DaCosta made her feature film directorial debut with last year's Little Woods, a drama starring Tessa Thompson and Lily James as estranged sisters who are driven to extremes.
The original Sleeping With The Enemy release, which also featured actors Patrick Bergin and Kevin Anderson, was a hit for filmmaker Joseph Ruben.

Wimbledon announced a new policy for its 2019 tournament to prevent marathon matches such as this year’s epic six-hour-plus semifinal duel between John Isner and Kevin Anderson.
There will now be a final-set tie-break that will only kick in when the score reaches 12-12, the All England Lawn Tennis Club said in a statement on its website Friday.
The decision comes in the wake of Isner and Anderson’s seemingly never-ending six-hour-36-minute match last June. Isner also holds the record for the longest professional tennis match in history when he defeated Nicolas Mahut in a total of 11 hours and 5 minutes of play over the course of three days at the 2010 Wimbledon.

Majority of tennis rackets are manufactured in Asia with Japan as the leading country in tennis racket production. The best types are those that have no strings because professional players prefer to have a choice on the strings to use it with. A tennis racket played by adults weigh 12.5 ounces while those children use weigh 6 ounces.
Wooden rackets weighed an average of 350 grams and were used from the 15th century until 1965. Professional players preferred them to steel frame rackets, not knowing that the latter was much more superior.
10. Dunlop Srixon Revo Cx
This is a tennis racket from Dunlop which is endorsed by Kevin Anderson. Kevin Anderson is a South African professional tennis player who is currently the world number 7. The racket fits perfectly into his gameplay with his need for control precision the Srixon delivers just that.
The Cx has a 95 square inches head size that does not provide much room for error.

It’s a weird quirk of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that a bunch of the stars of this all-American franchise are actually as British as they come.
For instance, two of the newest and most popular additions to the Avengers’ line-up, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, are played by two Englishmen in Tom Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch, respectively. Meanwhile, one of the franchise’s longest mainstays, Loki, is portrayed by Tom Hiddleston.
So, naturally, when the Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final between Kevin Anderson and Novak Djokovic came around this weekend, the three acted like good Brits and went to see the game. Though they went separately, Holland couldn’t resist sharing the fact that he also spotted Hiddleston in the crowd.

In May of 2006, I sat down with actress Jessica Chastain, then an unknown and untested 29 year-old who was on the precipice of her first big break after being tapped by Al Pacino to co-star in his stage production of Oscar Wilde's "Salome" at the Wadsworth Theater. Then as now, Chastain's fresh-faced beauty made every passerby do a double-take as we spoke. Her ambition to succeed as a performer was palpable, and paid off in 2011 with Chastain appearing in six high-profile films: "Take Shelter," "The Tree of Life," "Coriolanus," "The Debt," "Texas Killing Fields," and "The Help," for which she received a Best Supporting Actress nomination. This year, Chastain received a nod in the Best Actress category for Katherine Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty" and is the undisputed front-runner to take a statuette home.

For people who remember older Troma movies like The Toxic Avenger they will remember that they were pretty gory. Kids were run over then got their heads squashed under car wheels, hell the violence and gore was at a high level, but the most important thing was they had a sense of humour. A lot of horror films don’t go for that sense of humour now, some may say we have lost that element of horror that we just aim for the gore and forget what fun horror can be.
