Hill says he wrote the first half of The MacKintosh Man (1973) but the rest was done by "seven other people". He says he never saw the final product but was told it was "a real bomb".
(On Undisputed (2002)) "Some say Hollywood movies that are made about boxing are just metaphors for other things, I think I've made one that's actually about boxing and not a metaphor."
Several of Hill's films have a bar called "Torchy's." Inseveral of his films, characters utter a variation on Cody's (Streets of Fire (1984)) and The Driver's exhortation to "Go home!"
