Comedian Katt Williams didn’t consider himself just an acquaintance to Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Terry Crews. He felt they were close pals. Which was why Williams felt a bit of guilt not reaching out to Crews during a very trying time.

Williams and Crews first worked alongside each other on the Ice Cube movie Friday After Next. Afterwards, both of their careers seemed to go in separate but successful directions. Williams quickly shot to fame as a comedian, and Crews became a successful actor in his own right, appearing in a variety of projects.
In 2017, Crews confided that he was sexually assaulted by a high-power Hollywood agent years ago. Crews’ admission at the time generated a lot of discussion, especially since it was during the peak of the Metoo movement.

While the names Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan have been suplexed by controversy lately, it’s impossible to ignore how popular they had made the WWE, then WWF, back in the ’80s and ’90s. In 1989, the maniacal McMahon had a genius idea to make Hogan, already a megastar and the longtime world champion, even bigger. Let’s make him the biggest Hollywood actor, too! Enter No Holds Barred, Hulk Hogan’s first starring movie role and the first movie/wrestling crossover event ever! Oh, and did I mention it featured Friday favorite Tom “Tiny” Lister as the mega heel? Damn right. Let’s go!

"They're not driving me out of my own mine!" Film Hub has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror film titled The Haunting of Hell Hole Mine, arriving to watch later in May. This one is being released direct-to-vod for anyone interested. It's one of the final roles from actor Tom Sizemore, who passed away earlier this year. To rescue his niece from insanity, Luke must confront the dark spirit trapped in their ancestral gold mine. The late Tom Sizemore and Tom Lister Jr. star alongside the Oscar nominee Sally Kirkland in the highly anticipated release of this thrilling supernatural western. Rudy Youngblood, May Myot Noe, and David Fennoy also co-star in this unique genre mash-up in the tradition of Cabin in the Woods and Get Out. This looks absolutely awful, but hey maybe some folks will have fun with it. Not much else worth watching here. // Continue Reading...

Renegades is one of those movies that on paper has all the makings of a solid direct to DVD hit. A sizeable cast of mid-tier names that you will not only know but also have a sort of nostalgic endearment toward and that’s a great thing for you guys because they do a huge service in elevating the material and hiding any problems. A story that while not exactly breaking any new ground is just this side of madcap shenanigans so that there’s a slight air of believability to its proceedings. We are talking London gangsters, low budgets and a cast and crew that doesn’t just believe in the project but are doing...

The new episode of our The Black Sheep video series doubles as a Christmas viewing recommendation, as we’re taking a look back at the 2005 horror comedy slasher Santa’s Slay (watch it Here) – which stars professional wrestler Bill Goldberg as a very unpleasant Santa Claus. To find out all about the movie and why we think it deserves to be seen by more genre fans, check out the video embedded above!
Written and directed by David Steiman, Santa’s Slay has the following synopsis: It turns out that Santa Claus is not really the sweet old fellow that we all know and love. In fact, he’s a devil and the only thing that’s kept his bad side in check was a bet he lost with an angel. After 1000 years of playing nice, the bet is up and Santa is about to open up a can of Whoop-Ass! The only...

Most fans of the original comedy classic "Friday" and its subsequent sequels might assume that star Ice Cube actually stepped behind the camera to direct one, if not all, of the entries in his beloved neighborhood stoner trilogy. But in fact, he didn't direct a single installment in the franchise. Ice Cube did try his hand at directing in the late '90s with "Players Club," a story about a single mother who turns to the underworld of exotic dance to make ends meet.
Aside from an ESPN episode of "30 for 30" about the Oakland Raiders' move to Los Angles in 1982, "Players Club" is the only directing credit for Cube, who prefers to share the limelight with other directors. This is especially true with the "Friday" series where the rap mogul liked hiring first-time directors. Telling SPLICEDwire in an interview conducted right when "Friday After Next" was being released,...

If you’re wondering why Ice Cube’s comedy franchise, Friday, hasn’t gotten a reunion in this era of legacy sequels, you’re not the only one. It definitely wasn’t due to a lack of trying, with series mastermind Ice Cube explaining that he’s written not one – but two – scripts for a new Friday movie. The problem is that both were rejected by Warner Bros, who hold the rights to the franchise.
Ice Cube revealed his issues with WB during an appearance on the Drink Champs Podcast (excerpted by Billboard), recorded while the rapper appeared at L.L. Cool J’s Rock the Bells Festival.
The first of the two screenplays entered around Cube’s Mike and his sidekick, Mike Epps’ Da Da going to jail for selling weed. “After they rejected it, they had all these movies about going to jail. So I was like, ‘Man,...

The cast includes Lee Majors (“The Six Million Dollar Man”), Danny Trejo (“Machete”), Michael Paré (“Gone”), Ian Ogilvy (“We Still Kill the Old Way”) and Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister (“The Fifth Element”). Coming soon to a VOD platform or Walmart near you is Boone The Bounty Hunter , and it’s one you definitely should be checking out. You don’t even need to be like me, a person who loves movies starring wrestlers and good old 90s-style action, to have a good time watching it.
John Hennigan is our star / producer / co-writer. After graduating from college with a film degree, he wrestled for WWE under the names Johnny Nitro and John Morrison, and he was pretty good at it; he now works for Aaa (a Mexico-based promotion) and Lucha Underground (the MTV wrestling show). But he’s always had a passion for the same sorts of movies I love – 80s / 90s comic action, kung fu, chase movies – and given the chance, he’s made this.

Now you can own Zootopia on Blu-ray thanks to Walt Disney Animation Studios!
Zootopia has broken records worldwide earning more than $900 million at the global box office to date. In what will very likely wind up being our last trailer of 2015, Walt Disney Pictures has released a new, full-length teaser for the upcoming animated animal comedy adventure, Zootopia.
Byron Howard (Tangled) and Rich Moore (Wreck-It-Ralph) direct the House of Mouse’s latest sure-to-be-blockbuster, which features Arrested Development actor Jason Bateman as a fox named Nick Wilde who goes on the run after being framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Ginnifer Goodwin (Once Upon A Time) joins him as rabbit police Lt. Judy Hopps, who’s trying to prove that she has what it takes to be a real cop.
Here’s the full synopsis:
The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are,...

Summerslam’s rich tradition as one of WWE’s premiere annual shows continues in just weeks, as the company promotes its 27th annual blockbuster event.

While I'm not sure I'd ever accuse Ice Cube of having any significant dramatic range as an actor, I like his presence on-screen, and I've enjoyed several of the action comedies he's starred in. I think "All About The Benjamins" is just plain fun, and Eva Mendes gives a fantastic comic performance in it. Cube's had several on-screen comic foils, and I'd say Chris Tucker in the first "Friday" remains the gold standard. That film worked as well as it did because the entire cast was strong and funny and worked perfectly off of one another, whether it's Tiny Lister or...

Eric Roberts will star in The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence).
The Dark Knight actor will join returning villains Dieter Laser and Laurence R Harvey in the cast of the controversial horror sequel.
Tom Six, writer and director of the franchise, will also appear in the film alongside Tommy Lister, Robert Lasardo and Bree Olson. Six has claimed that the third instalment will make its predecessor "look like a Disney movie".
Human Centipede 3 is currently filming in California and will feature a 500-person centipede, according to EW.
Roberts's recent work includes porn biopic Lovelace, Hansel & Gretel: Warriors of Witchcraft and TV series The Young and the Restless.
He was nominated for a 'Best Supporting Actor' Oscar in 1986 for his role in Andrey Konchalovskiy's Runaway Train.

Do we really need a third Human Centipede film? Thinking along those lines, did we even need the first one? Regardless of how deplorable the subject matter is for this franchise, someone somewhere must enjoy them. One of those people is probably Eric Roberts, who has just signed on to star in The Human Centipede III: Final Sequence.
Not a lot has been revealed about his role. On the film’s IMDb page his character name is listed as Governor. Whether or not that’s an actual Governor or a The Walking Dead-type narcissistic nickname remains to be seen. Three other additions joining Roberts are Tommy Lister, who made appearances in The Fifth Element and Friday; Robert Lasardo from Death Race and former porn star Bree Olson.
Chatter surrounding Roberts is directed at his occasional work in films that aren’t straight to video. He has appeared in The Dark Knight...

Hamshank Redemption: Stewart’s Debut a Trashy, Lurid Queersploitation Effort
Jules Stewart, mother of that actress Kristen Stewart, makes a curious and fascinatingly trashy exploitation grindhouse directorial debut with K-11, which plays like one of those women in prison shockers made in the 70s with names like Pam Grier or Mercedes McCambridge headlining. Here we see a number of familiar faces populating the queer and transgendered ward of a Los Angeles County Prison, and while the end result is not actually empowering, it does have a lurid and arresting appeal, not unlike an overtly insistent train wreck.
Raymond Saxx Jr. (Goran Visnjic) is a highly successful record producer that gets thrown into county in the middle of a hellish drug binge. When he finally recovers consciousness, he learns that he has been accused of killing one of his more famous musical clients in some sort of drug induced rage of jealousy.

Title: K-11 Director: Jules Stewart Starring: Goran Visnjic, Kate Del Castillo, Db Sweeney, Jason Mewes, Portia Doubleday, Tiny Lister, Tara Buck, Billy Morrison, Cameron Stewart Nope, the directorial debut of Jules Stewart, the mother of “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart, isn’t a flash-forward sequel to James Belushi’s “K-9,” or the tale of an exponentially high mountain range. Instead, the bewildering “K-11,” at once intense and archly presented, is a careening updating (send-up? celebration?) of women-in-prison exploitation flicks like “Caged Heat.” A pulpy, psychologically hollow and emotionally indiscernible mélange of phony jailhouse intrigue and showy gender-politicking, with a bit of anal rape sprinkled in, Stewart’s film is too ridiculous to be taken seriously and not tightly [ Read More ]

This Friday, Jules Stewart's edgy and challenging directorial debut K-11 arrives in limited theaters courtesy of Breaking Glass Pictures. Featuring an eclectic cast of characters, the indie prison-centric thriller is a bold introduction from the seasoned script supervisor.
Through the years Stewart has overseen over 80 projects throughout her 30+ years in Hollywood.
Considering that K-11 is by far one of the most blisteringly raw debuts we've seen in some time, we knew we'd have a ton of questions for Stewart when we recently caught up with her on the phone. During our interview, we spoke to Stewart about working outside 'the system,' her thoughts on what attracted her to co-writer Jared Kurt's original story that's based on a real portion of the La County Jail system, the challenges of managing 46 distinct characters and personalities inside one location while shooting K-11 and much more.

Since making his feature film debut in the 1985 flick Runaway Train, Tommy "Tiny" Lister has worked on over 160 projects, quickly becoming one of the most recognizable character actors of modern cinema.
This Friday, March 8th, Lister's latest film, K-11, will be arriving at limited theaters nationwide. Helmed by first-time director Jules Stewart (Crank: High Voltage, XXX), K-11 also stars Goran Visnjic ("ER," The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Kate del Castillo ("Weeds"), D.B. Sweeney (The Cutting Edge, Fire in the Sky), Jason Mewes (Clerks I & II) and Portia Doubleday (the upcoming Carrie) and follows what happens inside a troubled portion of a Los Angeles correctional facility reserved for the homosexual and transgender inmates. In the film Lister plays Detroit, and while it's certainly not the first time we've ever seen the seasoned actor as a convict, it's perhaps his most nuanced performance to date.

While many horror fans know Finnish filmmaker Renny Harlin best for his efforts on A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, that wasn't the director's first foray into the genre world.
Shortly before signing on with New Line for Noes 4, Harlin first helmed the supernatural thriller Prison for producers Charles Band and Irwin Yablans.
A cult classic that never even made it to DVD, Prison will be celebrating its Blu-ray release on February 19th courtesy of Shout! Factory, and to mark the occasion, Dread Central recently had the opportunity to chat exclusively with Harlin about the release and his experiences making both Prison and Dream Master and caught up on what's ahead for the man behind such classic actioners as Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2, The Long Kiss Goodnight and one of this writer's personal favorites- Deep Blue Sea (my hat is like a shark's fin, yo!).

The Friday star - who is also known professionally as Tiny Lister- agreed to a plea deal on Friday (August 31) for his part in an alleged scheme that cheated banks out of $$3.8 million, reports Ktla. Lister is accused of falsifying W-2 forms and a pay stub to buy homes from 2005 to 2007 that he apparently could not afford. He is then alleged to have taken out $$1.1 million in home equity loans, before defaulting. The banks involved apparently lost more than $$2.6 million when trying to re-sell (more)...

We the Party 2012 104 minutes Rated R At its best, Mario Van Peebles' We the Party feels like the director's overt thesis statement on today's youth culture. The picture is at heart a somewhat generic youthful coming-of-age story that follows several high schoolers as they struggle to determine their place in their portion of the world. It arguably wants to be a defining portrait of a youth embroiled in the connectivity era, along with a generally upper-middle class Los Angeles living under the first minority president. But the film is actually at its best when its all-but explicitly monologuing what is clearly Van Peebles' thoughts about a whole host of social issues. The film has more educational merit than filmmaking polish. It is clearly an amateur work, with a respected filmmaker working on a shoe-string budget with largely novice actors. Because of what it preaches and what it represents, I...

Dread Center and yours truly caught up with filmmaker Greg Beville this week to get the lowdown on Blackstar Canyon, an indie horror feature currently in pre-production which he wrote and will direct. Read on for the first details.
“We plan on shooting mid-summer 2012 in Newhall, California, on the Red Epic,” said Beville of the status of Blackstar Canyon, which is set to star Halloween series vet Danielle Harris as well as actors Brian Krause, Tiny Lister, Tippi Hedren (The Birds) and Belinda Balaski (The Howling). “The cinematographer will be Ricardo Gale (Touching Home),” Beville continued, “and Ty Mitchell ("Andy" in John Carpenter’s The Fog) will serve as camera operator.”
Having previously scripted the upcoming feature The Night Watch for Electric Cobalt Entertainment - the production house behind Blackstar Canyon - Beville described the latter as “a cross between Darabont’s The Mist and Repo Man, where hillbilly werewolves meet Hindu mythology.

It’s one thing when we’re talking about Alfred Hitchcock having a walk-through in every single one of his films, including one that exclusively takes place on a lifeboat (he appears in a newspaper ad for that one). Sure it’s eccentric but it’s not surprising because, well, they’re his films and he can appear in them as he pleases. What does strike me as weird is when a director shows up totally unexpected in someone else’s film. Usually there is a good reason – either they are producing the film or friends with the cast. However despite the later explanation, it’s still a bit jarring to see, say… the director of Kill Bill in an Adam Sandler comedy… 7. Quentin Tarantino in Little Nicky This is one of those cameos that you actually have to stare directly at a few times before you realize what you are seeing. Pulp Fiction...

Considering this interview was conducted in front of a Los Angeles club at, what appeared to be, very late at night, the news didn't seem all that credible. But, fear not potheads: Ice Cube's production company has just confirmed that another 'Friday' is in the works -- possibly with the entire cast of the original film. "Absolutely, yes the studio is in the process of getting the entire original cast to do another 'Friday,'" a rep for Ice Cube's company, Cube Vision Productions, told TMZ. Ice Cube and Chris Tucker are reportedly hatching plans for another "Friday" sequel reports TMZ.
Tommy Lister, who played Deebo in the original, says "There's a lot of conversation, that's hopefully going down next week with Ice Cube and Chris Tucker about doing one more Friday. This is going to be the big one. We talked on the phone a couple of weeks ago, and I'm going on Chris' private jet to do something in St. Louis, where I chase Chris on the stage."
The original 1995 comedy launched Tucker's career thanks to his performance as drug dealer Smokey. Ice Cube and DJ Pooh penned the original, but it isn't known who is writing this chapter.

It's been almost ten years since the last instalment, but Ice Cube and New Line are apparently keen to revive the slacker Friday franchise. The first Friday was a stoner comedy released in 1995. It's nominal plot involved Chris Tucker's need to get $200 back to local drug dealer Big Worm (Faizon Love) and Cube's face-off with bully Deebo (Tiny Lister), but its easygoing pace allowed for plenty of sitting around on porches and talking nonsense and smoking.Five years later, Next Friday was a broader tale of Cube staying with his cousin Day-Day (Mike Epps) and getting embroiled in some shenanigans against the trio of haplessly inept Latino gangstas next door (this was at the height of Cube's rather public spat with Cypress Hill, context fans). The Cube/Epps double-act continued into Friday After Next, which saw them as mall cops. There was also a short-lived animated series, although none...

Friday hit theaters over fifteen years ago, truly launching the film career of Chris Tucker and serving as the first step in the transformation of Ice Cube from gangsta rapper and Compton's most vocal representative to family comedy guy. Now New Line and Ice Cube are in talks to make a fourth Friday film. Two lesser sequels, Next Friday and Friday After Next, followed in '00 and '02, but Tucker sat both of those out. There are hints that he might be ready to reprise the role of Smokey, however, in this fourth film that Ice Cube would write, produce and topline. The news first came from TMZ [1], which talked to Tiny Lister (who played Deebo in the first two Fridays) and learned that Lister is meeting with Cube and Tucker to talk about a fourth film. Deadline [2] confirmed that Cube and New Line execs are, at least, sitting down...

New Line Cinema is in talks with Ice Cube to write, produce and star in another installment of the "Friday" franchise. While negotiations have just started, there is a chance that Ice Cube may direct as well. Tiny Lister just spoke to TMZ, revealing that Chris Tucker is also in talks to return as the pot-obsessed Smokey. The actor appeared in the original "Friday" back in 1995, but then refused to return for any sequels, citing religious reasons. All that has changed now. Tucker and Ice Cube are planning to get together next week to discuss the fourth installment. "This is gonna be the big one," said Lister.

According to Tiny Lister, Chris Tucker and Ice Cube are set to re-team for another Friday movie. Movies.com reports (via TMZ) that Lister is meeting wiht Cube and Tucker next week to discuss the fourth installment in the franchise and claims it "is gonna be the big one."
This film has been rumored to be the big one since 2007 so I am not holding my breath. What is cool about the sequel, is that it will be the first one in a bit that has Tucker back in the role of Smokey. This will be Lister's first time back in the franchise since 2000's Next Friday. The project is still in the early stages so there is not a plot to report.

Why not, right? While chatting up the goings-on of Tiny Lister, TMZ managed to get a couple tantalizing scoops out of the man, including the fact that Lister is meeting up with Chris Tucker and Ice Cube next week to discuss a fourth Friday movie, which he claims "is gonna be the big one." What's interesting about this one (other than it being rumored to be happening as far back as 2007) is it'll be the first sequel that sees Chris Tucker reprise his role as Smokey, having sat out the following two sequels, Next Friday (2000) and Friday After Next (2002). For Lister, he'll be returning to the franchise for the first time since 2000's Next Friday. No word on what the plot will be, but regardless we can't be the only ones interested in learning...
