There's no denying that the four kids at the heart of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew are largely responsible for the positive attention the show is getting, but everything about the story got more intriguing with the introduction of Jude Law's Jod Na Nawood. The Academy Award-nominated British actor has won praise and twenty awards for his work, and as of December 12, 2024, he is a permanent part of Los Angeles when Law received a star on the Walk of Fame.
What is the Walk of Fame?
The Hollywood Walk of Fame has been an attraction in Los Angeles since February 9, 1960. California tourism site Or Los Angeles quotes its champion E.M. Stuart as proposing a "'boulevard of stars' to showcase the contributions of artists to the entertainment industry." It covers three blocks of Vine Street and 15 blocks on Hollywood Boulevard.

Rocky 4 was the first time that audiences got to see the beloved and iconic character of Ivan Drago, played by Dolph Lundgren. Even though this film was his entry into the franchise, he easily became one of the most iconic parts of the series, and a very big reason for that has to be Lundgren’s acting as the character.

The actor put a lot into this role, even going method to a certain degree and fully becoming Drago. While this was excellent for his performance in the film, it did not help him very much in real life. It would seem that the actor’s dedication to the role caused him to have some tension with his co-star, Carl Weathers.

Sylvester Stallone cast Dolph Lundgren in his breakthrough role as the Rocky IV heavy-hitter Ivan Drago. Lundgren excelled at the iconic character, but not only because he looked the part. It turns out that Lundgren exercised a bit of method acting while playing the Italian stallion’s arch-nemesis. However, he couldn’t help but rub people the wrong way in the process.

Lundgren put a lot of thought into playing Ivan Drago, which was what truly clinched him the part. Aside from his imposing presence and unique look, Lundgren did some creative research in order to believably portray the Russian boxer.

Dolph Lundgren has revealed that there was "tension" between him and Carl Weathers on the set of 'Rocky IV'.The 67-year-old actor played antagonist Ivan Drago in the 1985 movie and admits that he didn't strike up a bond with his late co-star as they shot a pivotal sequence where Drago kills Apollo Creed in the boxing ring.Speaking to Screen Rant, Dolph said: "When I first met him, we were shooting the fight of Apollo versus Drago in Las Vegas, and Carl showed up two days before."I was there to rehearse it with him, and he didn't know me. He just saw this big fricking blonde guy who looks dangerous. He heard the guy's a karate champion, and he's never acted before. I think Carl got a little bit like, 'Am I really...? Should I really do this? Am I going to survive this fight?'"I was in...

The Mandalorian is undoubtedly the best Star Wars series to date. Created by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, it became a huge hit worldwide thanks to its great story, casting, and loyalty to the original Star Wars lore. The series is currently on a break, with a sequel movie in the works.
While Mando and Grogu are the main focus, one of the standout secondary characters is Greef Karga, whose character development is exceptional. Sadly, Karga’s story will come to an end as the actor Carl Weathers, who played him, passed away on February 2, 2024.
Although there’s a chance Karga could be recast, it doesn’t seem like Lucasfilm plans to do so. The Mandalorian has just released a special featurette in honor of Carl Weathers, which will be included in the series’ upcoming home media releases.
The Mandalorian first premiered in 2019, and since then, three seasons have been released.

The Mandalorian is, without a doubt, the best Star Wars series that has been released so far. The series, created by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, became a massive hit globally due to its story, great casting choices, as well as its faithfulness to the original lore. The series is currently on a break, with a sequel movie on the way.
While Mando and Grogu are the series’ main characters, one of the breakout secondary characters was Greef Karga, whose rise in the series was a brilliant example of character development. Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) is still getting acclaimed at Firehouse 51. The newcomer has yet to completely gel with his team, but strides have been made, and veteran members have recognized his good intentions. What remains to be seen, though, is how long Pascal will stick around.
The promo for Chicago Fire winter premiere dropped shortly after the fall finale on Wednesday. It didn't give too much away in terms of plot, but it did place emphasis on Pascal and his leadership. The 51 Chief can be seen giving his team a pep talk before they enter a burning building. Pascal can even be seen leading the charge at the tail end of the promo.
Chief Pascal could potentially be in danger
This got us to wondering. The promo suggests that the blaze gets hectic at one point, and that the lives of those in the building get placed in harm's way.

Elle Fanning is known for being a chameleon actress, but for the upcoming “Predator” franchise installment “Predator: Badlands,” the star had to transform into multiple roles.
Director Dan Trachtenberg told Empire that Fanning was pushed “dramatically, physically, [and] logistically” during production.
“She faced intense challenges on this movie — dramatically, physically, logistically,” Trachtenberg said.
While the details of “Predator: Badlands” are still under wraps, we do know that Trachtenberg and Patrick Aison were behind the story for “Badlands,” with Aison penning the screenplay. The feature will be released by 20th Century Studios and is set in the future.
Trachtenberg previously directed “Predator” prequel “Prey,” which debuted on Hulu. “Prey” took place in 1719 and followed an Indigenous woman (Amber Midthunder) who fought for survival against alien invaders.
Trachtenberg told Empire that “Predator: Badlands” will instead have the alien creature “front and center, leading the charge” for the follow-up.

Playing a boxer seems to be a prerequisite for an actor in their journey to become an action star. Will Smith played Muhammed Ali in Ali while Mark Wahlberg played Micky Ward in The Fighter. Though Sylvester Stallone had his breakthrough with the Rocky franchise, the greatest boxer in Hollywood reportedly even bested him.
Stallone recounted the filming process of Rocky IV where the legendary actor Dolph Lundgren played Ivan Drago. While Drago was one of the most dangerous opponents that Rocky Balboa ever faced, Lundgren himself was reportedly no less, punching Stallone in the chest on his insistence, which reportedly led him to be hospitalized.

Given their near-death experience at the end of Toy Story 3, it might have seemed like Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang were ready to ride off into the proverbial sunset after that third installment of the franchise, but Pixar quickly let it be known that was far from the case. Just a year later, a trio of shorts called Toy Story Toons began accompanying various Disney movies in theaters. Next up came the first Toy Story TV special, which featured Woody’s Roundup Gang venturing into a surprising new genre: horror.
First airing on ABC on October 16, 2013, Toy Story of Terror saw Woody, Buzz and Jessie take a trip to a hotel where toys quickly begin going missing, leaving only Jessie (Joan Cusack) to contend with a mysterious shadowy figure. Good news, physical media fans! Disney is giving more of its Disney+ exclusive shows 4K Ultra HD releases later this year. Netflix started the whole "You can only get this movie or TV show here" thing in the streaming world, which is why creators like Mike Flanagan don't mind if people pirate certain Netflix shows or movies. Other companies have been, very thankfully, breaking that trend. Disney is now bringing "The Mandalorian" season 3, "Ahsoka" season 1, "Hawkeye" season 1, and "Loki" season 2 to a shelf near you in December. Plan accordingly.
These "Star Wars" and Marvel Studios shows will come with brand new steelbook packaging, which you can check out below. Each release also includes exclusive concept art cards and never-before-seen bonus content. This trend started late last year when Disney gave "Loki" season 1, "WandaVision," and "The Mandalorian" seasons 1 and 2 steelbook releases. Apparently, that went well enough for the trend to continue.

In what comes as no surprise, Marvel Studios’ Blade won’t be coming out on Nov. 7, 2025, rather Disney is opening 20th Century Studios’ Predator: Badlands.
The reboot of the famed Wesley Snipes Marvel movie was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019 with 2x Oscar winner Mahershala Ali starring. Production and development on Blade hit unavoidable delays with a global pandemic and dual industry strikes.
The project saw two directors exit, first Bassam Tariq, who was eyeing a fall 2022 start, then Yann Demange. Mia Goth is set to play supervillian Lilith in the vampire slayer movie. She told Deadline’s Natalie Sitek at the world premiere of her A24 movie MaXXXine, that in regards to the Blade delays, Marvel “really care, they do. They want to make a great movie. That’s the sense that I get from them and that feels good.”

The Emmy Awards showed their annual In Memoriam this year, honoring those who died during the past year. Among the honorees this year are Bob Newhart, Richard Simmons, Shannen Doherty, Carl Weathers, Richard Lewis, Donald Sutherland, and James Earl Jones. However, many fans noticed Matthew Perry wasn’t honored.
There is a good reason for his omission from this year’s In Memoriam.
Why Wasn’t Matthew Perry In Emmy’s In Memoriam?
The In Memoriam had plenty of sad losses in the entertainment industry. However, when it finished, some fans wondered why Matthew Perry wasn’t in the listing. Perry died last October, so the ceremony falls within a year of his death.
YouTube/ABC News
This led people online to ask why Perry was “snubbed.”
“How do you forget Matthew Perry in your memorial of people that passed” “did I miss it or did the Emmy’s not show Matthew Perry?...

The “In Memoriam” segment of the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday paid tribute to a host of small-screen stars who have died in the past year, but users on social media were quick to point out the notable names that did not make the montage.
The poignant segment saw rapper Jelly Roll say a few words before performing his 2024 song “I Am Not Okay” as a montage of late stars was shown inside the Peacock Theater and on television. Among those included in the segment were Donald Sutherland, James Earl Jones, Martin Mull, Richard Lewis, Richard Simmons, Shannen Doherty, Gena Rowlands, Chance Perdomo and Carl Weathers.

Since he passed away this February, many have mourned the loss of Carl Weathers. The Star Wars fanbase has missed the man who brought humor, toughness, and humanity to The Mandalorian character, Greef Karga. Another fanbase has also been mourning his passing.
Before Weathers became an actor, he played in the NFL for the Oakland Raiders in 1970 and 1971. He played in seven games in 1970 and helped the Raiders win the AFC West Division Title.
Since his stardom, Weathers has become a strong Raiders alumnus. From 1999 to 2001, he narrated the team's highlight films. He has also been seen at several alumni events throughout the years and lit a torch before a home game in 2022. The torch was lit by former players and celebrities in memory of the team's owner, Al Davis.
Upon his passing, the Raiders released a statement celebrating his life and mourning the loss:

Film fans were shaken earlier this year with the immensely sad news of actor Carl Weathers’ passing. The star had been a cultural icon thanks to his immaculate portrayal of Apollo Creed in the Rocky movies, as well as his run of action roles in films like Predator and Action Jackson. Weathers had recently been seen as a regular cast member in the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian. On August 29, the actor has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Variety reports on his former co-stars, including Sylvester Stallone and Adam Sandler, paying tribute to Weathers. In February, after the news broke of Weathers’ passing, his Rocky co-star Sylvester Stallone posted a video recalling what it was like to work with him. In his tribute, Sly stated, “He showed up at the eleventh hour with all the attributes: the body, the skill, the soul and the acting chops.

Carl Weathers was an unknown actor on a cattle call audition for a movie when he was introduced to the screenwriter — also a struggling nobody — and was told to do the scene with him. The writer mumbled his way through the lines and afterwards, Weathers, nervous that he blew his shot, blurted out, “If you get me a real actor, I could do a lot better.”
Turns out the writer was the actor. But fortunately, Sylvester Stallone was not insulted, and Weathers got the role of Apollo Creed, changing movie history, and his life, forever.
“He showed up at the eleventh hour with all the attributes: the body, the skill, the soul and the acting chops,” Stallone said in a video tribute after Weathers’ death in February at the age of 76. “I never could have accomplished what we did with ‘Rocky’ without him. He was magic.”

The price was most definitely right but you get the impression from Adam Sandler that Happy Gilmore 2 is about far more than the paycheck (or Subway endorsement). With the sequel officially teed up at Netflix, Sandler is showing excitement in a way he hasn’t in a long time.
