Biography

    • Paul Guilfoyle has been a professional actor for 50 years. He first performed at Lincoln Center in the premiere of Norman Mailers' "Why Are We in Vietnam", which he previously performed in the "Concert to Remember the War at Cathedral of St John the Divine for 12,000+.

      He performed on Broadway in "The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel," "Search and Destroy," "Those the River Keeps," and Richard III." He was a long time ensemble member of Theater Company of Boston, Yale Repertory Theatre, American Repertory Theater and other regional theater companies. In London UK he started in "Uncommon Pursuits" for the BBC and in West End theater and several premiers in Off-Broadway notably: "Vampires," " Loose Ends" "My Life in Art," and "Henry V" at the Public Theater and in Central Park.

      During his extensive career in the theater, Paul has performed in plays by Anton Chekhov, George Bernard Shaw,Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller, William Shakespeare, David Rabe, Michael Weller, Sam Shepard, Gabriel Garcia Lorca, Elaine May, Simon Gray, Woody Allen and David Mamet among others.

      He was a founding member and artistic director of Playwrights Platform in Boston and performed in , directed and produced over 60 plays dedicated to the work of new playwrights.

      He has been featured in more than 75 films and 500 episodes of television. Notably, "LA Confidential," "Air Force One," "Primary Colors," "Hoffa," "Spotlight," "Don't Look Up," "The Mothership," "The Good House," "The Man from Rome," "American Violet," "Arthur the King," and d the upcoming "Any Day Now,", and on television, a partial list includes :" CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "The Good Fight," "The Morning Show," "Wiseguy", "Miami Vice" "Crime Story","Julia," " A Million Little Things", "Law and Order", "Evil," and "Star Trek Discovery." As a producer, Paul performed in the independent feature "The Local Stigmatic," which premiered at The Whitney Museum with long time collaborator Al Pacino.

      He is a recipient of two Screen Actors Guild awards among other acting prizes. Paul is a lifelong member of The Actors Studio. He graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in Philosophy and Literature.

      He lives in New York City with his wife the choreographer Lisa Giobbi.
