In high school, he was in a singing group called the Big Guys. Another member of the group was Latin singer Luis Fonsi.

Is of Italian descent.

Went to the same high school as former Boston Red Sox center fielder Johnny Damon. Joey was a freshman when Damon was a senior.

Attended the same high school, Orlando, Florida's Dr. Phillip's High School, (in the same grade) as Amber Benson.

Joey and his wife, Kelly Fatone, became the parents of another daughter, Kloey Alexandra Fatone, on January 11, 2010 in Orlando, Florida. Kloey weighed in at 5 lbs. 8 oz.
