There’s no doubt that Invincible, the superhero series from the mind of Robert Kirkman, borrows a lot from other beloved franchises in the same genre. The biggest similarity would be how Omni-Man resembles Superman in many ways and how the Guardians of the Globe are another version of the Justice League or the Avengers.
The popularity of the comics and animated series has brought it into the cultural spotlight, with Omni-Man even making an appearance on Fortnite as a playable character. Now, we have a mod that brings another character from the series to a game filled with sticky situations.

Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds as the titular character, was a critical disaster for DC. The film was panned by fans and critics alike, and even Reynolds refused to suit up to play Hal Jordan again.
Unfortunately, the film’s failure was not just limited to the box office. It had far-reaching effects, and one of the victims of the catastrophe was DC’s animated show. Green Lantern: The Animated Series could not evade the chopping block either, and its cancellation was tied to Reynold’s forgettable outing as the superhero.

The popular Amazon Prime animated series Invincible just had its Season 2 Finale. The series, which is a mature-rated deconstruction of the superhero genre, focuses on a young adult hero trying to find a place in a world full of ever-growing threats, including his own family. But during the finale, there was one moment that many fans were hoping to see, but they were rather let down when it wasn’t exactly what they wanted.
In the episode, Invincible was battling the villain Angstrom Levy, who saw the hero through various multiverse portals to try and eliminate him. The issue this story was based on was Issue #33. That issue is notable because we see Invincible get sent to the Marvel Universe and run into Spider-Man and Doc Ock. Invincible would return back through another portal, but we would see what happens in their meet-up in Marvel Team-Up #14, which featured the two...

Sometimes a fandom can get, let’s say, ahead of themselves. A certain rumor will take hold with only the flimsiest evidence to back it up and before you know it, every single character on WandaVision is Mephisto (our bad on that one).
At first glance, that appeared to be the case with the second season of Amazon Prime Video’s Invincible. Shortly before Invincible season 2 premiered in late 2023 (and then again in early 2024), fans of the series and the Robert Kirkman comic upon which it is based became convinced that none other than Spider-Man would be appearing in an upcoming episode. And in said fans’ defense, the evidence was actually pretty compelling.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for the Season 2 finale of “Invincible,” now streaming on Prime Video, plus light spoilers for upcoming storylines in the “Invincible” comic.
Just shy of three years after the Season 1 finale of “Invincible” streamed on Prime Video, the final episode of Season 2 has arrived at long last — and there was just as much bloody, superhero action.
In “I Thought You Were Stronger,” the finale to Season 2 Part 2, Mark/Invincible (Steven Yeun) rushes home after the multiverse-traveling villain Angstrom Levy (Sterling K. Brown) kidnaps his mom Debbie (Sandra Oh) and baby alien half-brother Oliver. At first, it seems like the vengeful villain has the upper hand. Every time Mark flies toward him, Angstrom opens up a portal and strands Mark in a different dimension.
The battle leads to some eye-catching, alternate-universe cameos. In one callback to the original “Invincible” comic, Mark crashes into a web-slinging superhero...

Invincible‘s first season finale was a tough act to follow. Mark Grayson a.k.a. Invincible’s bloody battle with his own father Nolan a.k.a. Omni-Man is already the stuff of animated superhero TV (and meme) legend. Still the Invincible season 2 finale comes closer to recapturing the excitement than it has any right to.
After Mark got his ass handed to him by Nolan last time around, it’s finally his turn to do some ass-handing himself. Multiverse-hopper Angstrom Levy (Sterling K. Brown) immediately became one of Invincible’s greatest threats by holding his family hostage. Those stakes give this finale “I Thought You Were Stronger” an impressive emotional throughline.
And of course, there is some multiverse nonsense to enjoy as well. Here is how Invincible season 2 ends.

After The Flash actor Ezra Miller faced a string of controversies, it seems that Amazon’s Invincible opted to play it safe and replace the actor with voice acting legend Eric Bauza. And it appears, Prime Video executed this change rather subtly, as Miller had previously voiced the character, Mad Scientist Da Sinclair who first appeared in the episode called You Look Kinda Dead in Season 1. However, when Sinclair reappeared in the latest episode of the series, the character was voiced by Bauza. But who is Eric Bauza?

The release date for Pokémon Concierge, Netflix’s new animated miniseries created in conjunction with The Pokémon Company, has been announced.
The show was cloaked in secrecy until now since fans only had a small peek of it earlier this year during the Pokémon Presents presentation in February. Now that we have a release date, more information, and a new trailer are available.
Pokémon Concierge | Official Trailer
Unlike the franchise’s main anime series, Pokémon Concierge is a lighthearted slice-of-life story about a young lady who gets a job at a Pokémon resort.
The series’ new trailer, seen on Netflix’s Anime YouTube Channel, features Haru, a new concierge whose primary task is to figure out what would make her clients happy during their stay. Haru discovers more about herself and her place as she learns to speak with Pokémon.

Marvel’s What If? Is back for a second series on Disney+ this December – and here’s the trailer to prove it…
What If? was a surprising, fun addition to the Marvel canon when it first landed on Disney+, perhaps because the sheer scale of storytelling possibilities is so huge.
Series one featured scenarios as wide ranging as Peggy Carter becoming the First Avenger and T’Challa becoming a Star Lord, to examining what might have happened if artificially-intelligent supervillain Ultron hadn’t been defeated by those pesky Avengers. It doesn’t look like the next run of the show will be pulling its punches either.
Promotion is underway for it now, and we now have a synopsis for the second series. It doesn’t tell us much, but nevertheless reads as follows:
Season 2 of Marvel Studios’ imaginative and captivating “What If…?” series continues the journey as The Watcher guides viewers again through the vast multiverse,...

"Things have gotten a little twisted in the Multiverse…" Marvel has revealed the official trailer for Season 2 of the fun spin-off series What If...?, where they present short stories based on crazy "what if" scenarios in the MCU. The first season launched in 2021 to mixed reviews, and this second season will be out to watch in December. One new episode will introduce an original MCU character named Kahhori, a young Mohawk woman who seeks to discover her powers after the Tesseract crash-lands in the Haudenosaunee Confederacy in pre-colonial America. In another episode, Peggy Carter / Captain Carter believes that the love of her life, Steve Rogers, is long-dead until he is discovered alive as the villainous Hydra Stomper. That sounds wild! The voice cast set for Season 2 includes Hayley Atwell, Lake Bell, Josh Keaton, and Jeffrey Wright back as The Watcher, the main character in this taking viewers into the various stories.

Things have gotten a little twisted in the multiverse. The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright) returns in Marvel’s What If…? Season 2 trailer (above). And in the spirit of the holiday season, the animated series invites fans to unwrap a new episode every night for nine nights this December. What If…? Season 2 premieres on Friday, December 22, on Disney+, with one episode coming out every night for nine nights. The trailer introduces a new group of Avengers, as well as introduces Karen Gillan‘s Nebula, Cate Blanchett‘s Hela, and Jon Favreau‘s Happy Hogan into the animated series. A young and powerful Peter Quill is also seen going up against a group of heroes, and Thanos appears fighting both Captain Carter (who’s voiced by Hayley Atwell again in Season 2) and Captain America (voiced by Josh Keaton) in separate instances. The latter fight is a recreation of Captain America and Thanos’ one-on-one fight in Avengers: Infinity War.

Netflix is getting into the "Pokémon" business in a pretty interesting way. The streaming service has debuted the first trailer for a brand new series entitled "Pokémon Concierge" which marks not only the first collaboration between Netflix and The Pokémon Company, but it's also the first stop-motion animated series in the history of the franchise. See what that looks like for yourself in the trailer above.
The trailer is, in a word, adorable. There is absolutely a version of the Pokémon universe that is a little gritty and horrifying. After all, many of these are very dangerous animals. This is the polar opposite of that version, with all of the many familiar creatures just trying to relax and looking rather cuddly. Surprisingly, we've never seen the series take the stop-motion approach before having now seen it, as it looks very natural. The brief logline for the series reads as follows:...

“Pokémon Concierge,” an unusual, animated miniseries, will launch on Netflix at the end of December.
The first collaboration between the global streamer and Japanese firm The Pokémon Company, the show involves hand-drawn animation with four episodes of 14-20 minutes each.
Fans can get a glimpse of the new show through a trailer that releases on Wednesday in Japan and on Tuesday in North America. The show uploads globally on Dec. 28.
“When Pokémon need a break, they head to a peaceful resort to relax, looked after by a team of Pokémon concierges,” says a logline provided by Netflix. The story follows newcomer Haru as she learns how to take care of Pokémon guests that include Pikachu, Eevee, Dragonite and Magikarp. And as Haru figures out how to make her guests happy, she ends up discovering a new side to herself.

Nathalie Emmanuel is the latest star to join the voice cast of the immersive animated series “Ghosts of Ruin.”
The announcement that the “Game of Thrones” and “Fast and Furious” franchise costar would bring her voice talents to the new series was made during the “Ghosts of Ruin” Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday.
“Literally, I’m emailing the agents right now in this panel,” executive producer Michael Ramey quipped, underscoring just how “real time” the news had developed.
In May, Variety exclusively revealed that Rosario Dawson and Tony Revolori had joined the cast of the animated series, which follows a group of gamers as they compete in the first-ever neural reality battle royale game, named “Ruin.” However, a malicious virus appears and transforms their utopia into hell.
Emmanuel will voice Dr. Angela Tucci, who Stippec teases is “a very monumental, pivotal character in the run of the show.

This article contains Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse spoilers.
There was an audible gasp during my press screening of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. As has become common practice when watching a superhero movie, the entire audience sat glued to their seats throughout the long rolling credits for producer Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s follow-up to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). Obviously, we were waiting for a post-credits stinger, as is the genre’s wont ever since Samuel L. Jackson first showed up rocking an eyepatch in Iron Man 15 years ago.
And yet, when the credits finished scrolling, there remained only darkness—and a promise that this story would not end until next year’s now eagerly anticipated Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. The lack of post-credits scenes was thus further evidence that Lord and Miller, as well as directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, had little interest in...

Years ago, I was sent to a screening of a film called "Your Name." I wasn't told until minutes before it started, and I had no idea what I was about to see. It was an anime film by Makoto Shinkai about two young people who switch bodies and learn about each other's lives, and it was so stunningly beautiful and touching that I had to sit in my seat for a bit before I could talk about it. Shinkai is back with another magical teen story in "Suzume," which got me in the gut yet again.
The teenage years are rough. Anyone who has lived through them will tell you that. You're trying to figure out what sort of person you'll be, find your place in the world, deal with massive changes in your body and your feelings, and navigate your love life. I don't know how Shinkai manages to take what can feel,...

Young Justice Season 4 Episode 19
Who would have guessed that Young Justice: Phantoms would continue the story of another beloved, canceled-too-soon, decade old DC animated series? Nobody, and yet here we are, finally getting a follow up to Green Lantern: The Animated Series.
For those of you who don’t remember, Green Lantern: The Animated Series followed Hal Jordan and Killowog as they traveled the galaxy on a ship operated by an AI named Aya. After averting a war with the Red Lantern Corps, Hal and Kilowog were joined by one of those Red Lanterns, Razer, who developed feelings for Aya and even worked with the Blue Lantern Corps on controlling his rage and developing hope.
At the end of the show, Aya, who had merged with the corpse of the Anti-Monitor, was ready to rewrite all of reality by traveling to the...

Young Justice Season 4 Episode 6
It doesn’t take a lot to bring me back in, and Young Justice: Phantoms found the sweet spot this week with “Artemis Through the Looking Glass.” It turns out all they needed to do was toss me a couple of crumbs of Cassandra Cain content and everything would be better.
It helps that this week was actually animated. The story still feels rushed, but the kinetic energy of the show is back to its normal level. A huge chunk of the episode is dedicated to a fight between Black Spider (Young Justice’s Spectacular Spider-Man knockoff) and Rictus from the League of Shadows, and Tigress, Onyx, Scandal Savage, Orphan, and Cheshire on the other side. Tigress had brought in Cheshire last week to help her figure out which of Onyx and Scandal was a potential mole, and they...

This article contains spoilers for Marvel’s What If…? episode 1.
Some big MCU actors have returned to lend their voices to Marvel Studios’ first animated project, What If…?, but before the show started streaming on Disney+ it became clear that not all the major players were up for being in the mix.
Chris Evans, who left Steve Rogers/Captain America behind after Avengers: Endgame, did not reprise his iconic role in the new show, so the creators looked to established voice actor Josh Keaton to take up the mantle in the multiverse-busting season premiere, ‘What If…Captain Carter Were The First Avenger?’, which imagined a timeline where Peggy Carter took the super soldier serum instead of Steve and became Captain Carter.
Keaton’s voice will already be familiar to animation geeks and gamers. He’s an admired vet, having brought his talents to Takashi ‘Shiro’ Shirogane in Voltron: Legendary Defender,...
