‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Will Erica Kane Tank Deception If Natalia Shares Inside Secrets? An AMC Crossover Could Even The Score
Image
‘General Hospital’ (Gh) spoilers predict Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) may soon get a pleasant surprise that could change the cosmetics game and cause a significant shake-up.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Name Erica Kane Gets Tossed Around A Lot In Port Charles

Erica Kane may be the most famous character on the now-defunct soap All My Children, but her name gets tossed around a lot in Port Charles.

Eva Larue played Maria Santos on AMC, and despite Erica and Maria being longtime romantic rivals, maybe Natala Rameriz (Eva Larue) and Erica are longtime friends who go way back.

It’s not hard to imagine Natalia wanting to get revenge on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and the Deception ladies for her firing.

Natalia was the CFO of Deception, privy to inside information that she could easily use against them. Erica Kane, who has her own successful cosmetics company called Enchantment, would welcome...

General Hospital Spoilers: Natalia Gets Revenge On Deception By Leaking Info To Erica Kane!
Image
General Hospital spoilers indicate that Natalia Rogers-Ramirez (Eva Larue) has been let go as CFO of Deception due to her not disclosing that she is the ex-wife of Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).

Natalia is furious by this, and cannot believe that this is what it has come to, as she has done an incredible job in her position.

Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) were all very firm on this decision, and Natalia is no longer a part of Deception. Natalia would see this as a betrayal, and what better way to get revenge than tip off the competition!

Natalia Rogers-Ramirez Contacts All My Children’s Erica Kane

Natalia would place a call to Pine Valley where Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) is still running Enchantment, her cosmetics company, and Deception’s biggest competition. In a fun nod, it would be revealed that...

Joy Behar
Joy Behar and the rest of the ladies at The View are on vacation during spring break, but news about one of her projects came out with some important dates.

As Monsters and Critics has reported, new episodes of The View will air after the Easter holiday.

Joy’s latest project, her play, My First Ex-Husband, is nearing the end of its Off-Broadway run, but not before one exciting performance with Whoopi Goldberg.

Whoopi is vacationing in Italy during The View’s long hiatus, and while she is picking up an interview here and there, she could be studying lines for a special reason.

Joy’s play showcased several stars during its run, including Susan Lucci, Veanne Cox, Jackie Hoffman, Carolyn McCormick, Marilu Henner, and Marsha Mason; now, Whoopi will join the venerated cast.

Joy announced that Whoopi will join her in a spectacular performance on April 30, 2025, before news broke...

Whoopi Goldberg To Join Joy Behar In Performance Of Behar’s Off Broadway Play ‘My First Ex-Husband’
Image
The View costars Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar will soon share a stage of an entirely different sort: Goldberg will appear for one performance only with Behar in the latter’s Off Broadway comedic play My First Ex-Husband.

Behar announced the team-up on her Instagram account, captioning a photo of the two, “The reunion we’ve been waiting for!”

The matinee performance is set for Wednesday, April 30, at 2 p.m./Et. The play, which features a rotating cast of actresses as directed by Randal Myler, is staged at the newly renovated Mmac Theater on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

The play’s official synopsis: “If half of all marriages end in divorce, then in My First Ex-Husband, women live to laugh about it….In the world of the play, you’ll meet women married to the mob, to their jobs, to their faith, to money and ultimately to the wrong man.

Joy Behar reveals surprise match up with Whoopi Goldberg away from The View
Image
Joy Behar announced an exciting collaboration with her good friend, Whoopi Goldberg, and this time, it has nothing to do with The View.

Joy Behar’s schedule stays full even when she isn’t on The View as a cohost or moderating when Whoopi is off, even with the addition of moderating The Weekend View.

Joy loves to write plays in her spare time, and her latest, My First Ex-Husband, is currently playing on Off-Broadway.

Joy spent so much time playing her part that she got sick and was away from her seat on The View for an extended time after covering for Whoopi.

Now, it seems that Whoopi may be paying her friend, Joy, back after all that by joining her for a special one-time-only event.

Joy’s play, My First Ex-Husband, features a rotating cast including Susan Lucci, Susie Essman, Adrienne C. Moore, and now, Whoopi Goldberg is appearing in the show.

Image
General Hospital recaps for Wednesday, April 2 reveal a busy day in the land of Port Charles. In case you missed today’s show, here’s a full overview. Time to dive in!

(Make sure to check out our next week Gh spoilers, here!)

Jason Morgan Needs Help

Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is bound and determined to keep Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) away from Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna). He visited Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) at the hospital and asked him to help his cause.

Lucas admitted having similar concerns for Carly’s safety, so he has tried to get through to her with no luck.

Jason says that he has always been able to keep Carly safe while living in Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Bernard) world because he understood the risks. He doesn’t understand the Wsb world and knows that the stakes are much higher, so keeping Carly safe is nearly impossible.

Is General Hospital’s Isaiah From One Life To Live’s Llanview?
Image
General Hospital‘s Isaiah appears almost perfect, but is he too good to be true? His last name is familiar to any former One Life to Live viewer, and he may be part of a Llanview family.

Blasts From The Past

Many soap watchers miss the good old days with the former ABC lineup of All My Children, One Life to Live, and Gh, but the characters live in our memories. Gh has had fun bringing in actors from the canceled soaps and sometimes even old characters out of the closet.

Jackson Montgomery (Walt Willey) was married to the one and only Eric Kane (Susan Lucci) and a major player in Pine Valley. The attorney brought his legal skills to Port Charles in 2023. He represented Tracy (Jane Elliott) in her suit against Deception and had some great scenes with Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner).

Sign Up for Gold Derby’s free newsletter with latest predictions

Sam Eckmann: Since we've both seen Purpose, the new drama from Tony-winning playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, I think it's time we assess how it might fit into the race. The play follows an explosive evening for the influential Jasper family as they are snowed in during a birthday celebration. It also marks the Broadway directing debut of Phylicia Rashad. After claiming the Best Revival of a Play trophy for Appropriate last year, do you think Jacobs-Jenkins is on his way to a Best Play victory this year?

Cameron Diaz Proves She's Still a Major Star as Her Latest Movie Joins a Prestigious List
Image
Netflix is one of the largest streaming services, and, aside from having other licensed titles on its platform, it has also created a name as a studio. Its titles often feature high-profile actors, and despite some of them not often enchanting both the critics and the audience, the streamer has had an amazing few months.

One of the titles that received major success recently is Cameron Diaz's Back in Action. The action comedy, which stars Diaz and Jamie Foxx as retired spies, also comes with a tongue-in-cheek reference to the actress' long break from acting. Per Tudum, the break didn't stop her from continuing to be one of the biggest action stars, as Back in Action joined Netflix's prestigious Most Popular Movies list.

Diaz's last film was 2014's Annie, and then she took a break to focus on her personal life. Her co-star, Foxx, persuaded her to come back to acting,...

Is General Hospital Teasing An All My Children’ Reboot?
Image
General Hospital (Gh) spoilers reveal there have been more than a few All My Children (AMC) references on the soap as of late.

One that occurred this week has fans buzzing, so are these all just fun Easter eggs for viewers to gobble up, or is there more to this?

The AMC Easter Eggs

The AMC references in Port Charles date back to 2023 when Walt Willey reprised his AMC character, Jackson Montgomery on the soap in August of that year.

In 2024, Gh viewers heard AMC’s iconic character, Erica Kane’s (Susan Lucci) name dropped multiple times, and more recently, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) reminded fans of his former, AMC character as he was scrummaging through his old house, looking for documentation, when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) stopped him in his tracks.

Sonny now owns Valentin’s house and everything in it. Thankfully the on-the-run criminal squirmed his way...

Oscars Snubs and Surprises: Mikey Madison Scores, ‘I’m Still Here’ Shocks and Diane Warren Has 16th Straight Loss
Image
The 97th Academy Awards was a joyous affair, full of big orchestral numbers, celebrity singalongs and a triumphant hosting debut from Conan O’Brien. While “Anora” led the night with five wins, there were several snubs and surprises. Check out our list of the biggest unexpected moments below.

Surprise: Mikey Madison wins over award season darling Demi Moore

Demi Moore’s brave performance in “The Substance” seemed like it was a shoo-in for the best actress statue, given her redemption arc throughout award season and wins at the Globes, SAGs and Critics Choice Awards. Yet Madison’s performance helped “Anora” — which was awarded best picture immediately after her win — lead the night.

Snub: Original Song performances nixed

Some of the most memorable Oscar moments of all time have been the best original song performances, from Diana Ross and Lionel Richie’s 1982 rendition of “Endless Love” to last year’s “I’m Just Ken” spectacular.

Joy Behar
Joy Behar scolded on The View after awkward money faux pas
Joy Behar
Joy Behar received a talking-to from her co-hosts on a recent episode of The View after she asked about something she should not have to a guest.

Joy Behar has stepped up lately in her work as moderator of The View while Whoopi Goldberg has been on vacation or ill.

After Whoopi stepped out on the Saturday Night Live red carpet for the SNL 50th Anniversary special, she caught the flu and was absent on The View for a few days.

Joy, who moderates The View when Whoopi is gone, filled in for her as she does frequently.

Sometimes moderating seems too much for Joy, and she says things she should not say, and this happened again recently.

Governor Jb Pritzker attended a taping of The View while Joy moderated and had to field some invasive questions.

Michael Strahan at an event for Step Brothers (2008)
Michael Strahan doesn’t shy away from sharing random thoughts during Good Morning America.

Over the past several weeks, he’s been on a roll, even when Robin Roberts called him out for a remark or seemed bewildered.

In a recent GMA episode, his co-star George Stephanopoulos and others lost it after his surprising nickname reveal.

Michael’s hilarious tidbit from his past arrived during the trio’s interview with comedian and bestselling author Chelsea Handler.

While she was there to talk about her newest book and upcoming Netflix special, she also shared an interesting career revelation.

It involved Jane Fonda calling her out, which led to a helpful revelation for Chelsea’s life and career.

Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan in Good Morning America (1975)
The Good Morning America anchors experienced a classic soap move on Monday morning.

Things were going well with Michael Strahan, Robin Roberts, and George Stephanopoulos at the desk for the ABC morning program.

One of the guests was soap legend Susan Lucci. That’s right, the All My Children legend was doing press rounds for her new Off-Broadway play, My First Ex-Husband.

Even though it’s been well over a decade since AMC was canceled, Susan will forever be Erica Kane. She held the role for 40 years and is one of the most recognized faces in the industry.

While promoting the Off-Broadway play, which, by the way, has a Joy Behar connection, Susan brought some lessons from soaps with her for the GMA co-hosts.

Unfortunately for Michael, he was put in a fake scene opposite Susan.

Is 2025 the Year TikTok’s Favorite Actress Paloma Diamond Finally Strikes Gold?
Image
If you’re a fan of film and a fan of TikTok, you might have heard of Paloma Diamond. If not, keep reading — and watch Paloma Diamond pull you in.

The internet inside joke revolves around a character created by high school teacher-turned-social media star Julian Sewell. The 29-year-old, from New Zealand, first went viral on the app in 2023 when he posted a parody of the Oscars. “And the nominees for best actress are…” he begins in the video, which pans to Sewell as all five actresses. Each one is sporting a deliciously convincing wig as a 20-second clip from their made-up film follows, such as The Remedy — which appears to be a medical drama — or, poking fun at long movie names with a specific location, Awake, Alone and Aware on the Streets of Topeka, Kansas.

All five characters were distinctive and had their own personality, like Lorelai Lynch, a...

While Whoopi Goldberg’s out sick The View teases a new co-host
Whoopi Goldberg
Whoopi Goldberg has been out sick on The View following her SNL 50 Anniversary Special red carpet walk.

Whoopi, who just shared some “secret news” with the ladies, contracted the flu and missed a week of work on The View.

Whoopi will be presenting at the upcoming Oscars in Los Angeles in early March, so this sickness is coming at a bad time for the veteran host.

Joy Behar stepped up again to cover for Whoopi, as she did in January while Whoopi was off in Paris.

Joy, who is starring in her Off-Broadway show, My First Ex-Husband, may not be able to maintain the stamina required to moderate The View.

Joy may need extra time off, which could be why The View is teasing a special new co-host.

Oscar 2025 Winner Predictions: Music (Original Song)
Image
“As for Emilia Pérez, better luck in the other music category.” So we said two days ago. And luck, it seems, is going to play more of a factor here than ever seemed possible just a couple of weeks ago, in the wake of the film’s near-record-setting 13 nominations. In fact, that we’re even writing more than 50 words on this category is testament to just how badly things have gone for the one-time Oscar frontrunner.

Almost right out of the gate, every race handicapper knew that Zoe Saldaña’s “El Mal” represented the “chosen one” over the Selena Gomez showcase “Mi Camino,” an understanding built perhaps less through unspoken symbiosis and more out of the notion that the song contest is this year inexorably tied to the dynamics of the supporting actress race. But that was long before Netflix found itself sifting through the wreckage of a near-instantly ruined campaign.

‘I’m still hungry’: 16-time nominee Diane Warren on her 2025 Oscar chances, biopic plans, and why she’s already chasing her next hit
Image
In 2022, superstar songwriter Diane Warren was presented with an Academy Honorary Award “for her genius, generosity, and passionate commitment to the power of song in film.” But that prestigious honor hardly diminished her desire to take home a trophy for Best Original Song. “I still want the competitive one!” she tells Gold Derby. “My Oscar, he’s very lonely. He sits there by himself. He wants a boyfriend. He needs a friend.”

As the composer of 33 top 10 hits (nine of which topped the Billboard Hot 100); a Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee; and the recipient of a Grammy, an Emmy, an Ivor Novello Award, two Golden Globes, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Warren clearly has nothing to prove. But she’s never been shy about the fact that she really wants to win that elusive Oscar, which she calls the “gold standard” of all awards and “the coolest thing in the world.

Joy deserves a break from moderating The View since she pulled double duty while Whoopi Goldberg was off in Paris during Paris Fashion Week.

Joy is a prolific writer who loves to write books and plays during her downtime away from The View. Now, she is taking a break from the show to play a part in her new play.

Grammys Review: Telecast Is the Best in Years, Between the Horse Races, Conscience for L.A., Hot New Artists and Cool Quincy Acolytes
Image
Not many awards shows that have lasted 3 hours and 45 minutes have ever had a preponderance of viewers agreeing that this length was justified. Sunday night’s 67th annual Grammys telecast might be the exception that belongs in that very rarefied strata — a show so solid, so relatively fat-free, that you might not even have minded if it’d stretched a bit further to take up a few minutes in the east coast’s following calendar day. It had everything you could want out of a Grammycast: horse races that people actually cared about, a sense of connection to the real world outside of that suspense, and nary a dud across 16 packed performance slots.

Sure, you checked your watch… but at least partially in amazement that the show was still sustaining itself this flawlessly, this many hours in. Easily the best Grammys yet to be produced under the Ben Winston/Raj Kapoor/Jesse Collins administration,...

Joy Behar
Joy Behar teams up with iconic soap actress in a new project away from The View
Joy Behar
Joy Behar is ready for a comeback that has nothing to do with her day job at The View.

Joy is a mainstay on The View, even taking on extra shifts as the moderator for the new show, The Weekend View, but she has a side job that is also taking off.

While Whoopi has been away in Paris showing off her new slim figure at Paris Fashion Week, Joy has kept busy with The View, the podcast, the new weekend show, and an Off-Broadway production.

Besides causing Joy to apologize to the live audience, Whoopi’s absence hasn’t fazed the veteran comedian as she promotes her new play, My First Ex-Husband.

Joy is showcasing her new play as it begins previews in late January.

A string of well-known names will join Joy Behar’s new play, My First Ex-Husband, as it premiers on February 6, 2025.

Here’s Why Mark Consuelos Almost Rejected All My Children Role
Image
It’s hard to see anyone else take on the role of Mateo Santos on All My Children. But it could’ve happened. Mark Consuelos was almost passed for the role on the ABC daytime soap.

Soap Secrets

Secrets from the show were revealed during Susan Lucci in Conversation with Andy Cohen: All My Children at 55, which took place on Tuesday, January 14 in New York City. AMC’s casting director, Judy Blye Wilson, admitted it wasn’t easy to cast Consuelos for the role of Mateo.

“I don’t know why they were dragging their heels on it, but they actually had him play the role, so he started playing the role, and I had to continue to search for another person,” Wilson explained, per People. “So we screen-tested Mark several times. Finally, I begged the producer, and she relinquished, and it turned out to be the best, one...

‘All My Children’ Casting Director Had To Fight For Mark Consuelos
Image
Mark Consuelos is known for his co-hosting duties on Live With Kelly and Mark. However, he originally got his start on All My Children. Recently, one of the soap’s crewmembers revealed that they had to fight for Consuelos to be on the soap.

Mark Consuelos Owes A Lot To All My Children

Consuelos’ first acting role was on the educational serial, Connect With English. However, his breakout role would be playing Mateo Santos on All My Children in 1995.

The role would be very impactful for Consuelos, as it on the soap he would meet Kelly Ripa, his onscreen love-interest and future real-life spouse. In fact, the two married by 1996.

‘Live With Kelly & Mark’ – YouTube

Later, Consuelos would become his wife’s permanent co-host on Live With Kelly and Mark in 2023. Notably, he had been a guest co-host on the series for years, with Ripa joining the talk show in 2001.

However,...

‘Diane Warren: Relentless’ Review: Doc Portrait Digs Into the Offbeat Personal Iconoclasm Behind All Those Mainstream Songs
Image
Not many non-performing contemporary songwriters are quite interesting enough to sustain a 90-minute documentary, but then, not many are Diane Warren, one of the great characters of modern Hollywood. Despite having a self-owned song catalog whose worth is estimated at up to a half-billion dollars, and despite famously having 15 Oscar nominations and a lifetime achievement award, Warren still maintains the aura and attitude of a street hustler, as if every new tune she’s pitching to the studios or the stars is the one that’ll finally catch her a break. You almost have to come up with a whole new multi-hyphenate descriptor to sum her up … something like mogul-urchin.

The new documentary “Diane Warren: Relentless” goes a long way toward first recapping the broad strokes of her story, for those who are encountering her on the late side, and satisfying additional curiosities that may still be held by those...

‘All My Children’ Almost Had a Different Ending — Why It Changed
Image
It’s been 55 years since All My Children premiered, and the legacy of the ABC soap lives on. During the Susan Lucci in Conversation with Andy Cohen: All My Children at 55, writer Lorraine Broderick opened up about the show’s ending and why it had to be altered at the last minute. “We had an entirely different happy ending of All My Children, the final script that we all worked so hard on,” Broderick revealed to the panelists and audience during the 92Ny Recanati-Kaplan Talks program on January 14. “And then they decided to pick up on this short term internet thing that happened and we had to go back in and change everything so that everything was a cliffhanger so that they would have something.” All My Children was canceled by ABC in 2011 after 41 years on the air. That same year, the rights to the soap were sold to Prospect Park,...

General Hospital Viewers React To All My Children’s ‘Erica Kane’ Reference During Recent Episode
Image
General Hospital (Gh) is the last of the daytime dramas on ABC, so it’s always nice when they sprinkle in some references to their now-canceled, sister soaps, One Life to Life (Oltl) and All My Children (AMC).

Amongst all the drama that hit the fan during the Tuesday, December 10 episode, Gh fans reacted in a big way when a small reference to AMC’s Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) was mentioned.

General Hospital – Fans Were Buzzing About The Scene

On Tuesday’s show, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) stormed into Nina Reeve’s (Cynthia Watros) office, looking for answers on where Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Spears) was.

The newly awakened comatose mom was desperate to find her daughter, and as she knows Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) left town with her, Lulu was hoping Nina could offer insight into their whereabouts. Nina couldn’t help, which triggered Lulu and the two had a major confrontation.

Wes Craven's 10 Most Underrated Movies
Image
Wes Craven is widely known for shaping the horror genre with hits like Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream, but his lesser-known works reveal a filmmaker with a more nuanced approach to storytelling. Although many of his movies didn't achieve the same level of success, they highlight the director-writer-producer's ability to explore deeper themes and push the limits of genre filmmaking, particularly horror movies.

Craven’s work outside his most famous titles often explored darker, more experimental ideas, combining horror with psychologically intense themes. Some of his most underrated movies are not merely about shocking and scaring the viewer; they also examine human nature, fear, and the consequences of societal issues. Titles such as Wes Craven’s New Nightmare and The People Under the Stairs demonstrate Craven’s potential to innovate and challenge expectations, all while continuing to offer a still-fresh perspective on what horror can be. With much-deserved praise for his most popular works,...
