While many movies focus on a single main character, there have been so many other great releases that have multiple protagonists. Whether it’s two-handers with dual lead roles or an ensemble movie packed with endless character introductions and bit parts, this variety in filmmaking makes for incredibly engaging viewing and allows for a type of storytelling that’s not possible when it’s just focused on one main character. In some cases, it can be difficult for viewers to even agree on who the main character is, as each cast member adds something vital to the narrative.
Many of the best movies ever made featured multiple main characters and had a broad focus across several different subplots. There are plenty of amazing directors, like Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson, who have excelled in making great movies that feature lots of main characters who each complement and inform the other.

Philip J. Fry (Billy West) is the hero of "Futurama," but his robot buddy Bender (John Dimaggio) is the show's star. A crass alcoholic "lovable scamp" (read: sociopath), Bender is to "Futurama" what Homer is on "The Simpsons."
"Futurama" takes place in the 31st century, and this future is filled with plenty more charming robots than only Bender. From acting unit Calculon (Maurice Lamarche) to the Robot Devil, some of the funniest characters in "Futurama" have silicon souls.
No one can accuse "Futurama" of being written by Isaac Asimov, but many episodes of the show explore Bender's existence as a robot too. In "Fear Of A Bot Planet," the characters visit a planet that is Bender's paradise (a planet of robots who want to kill all humans). "Obsoluely Fabulous" sees Bender befriend several outmoded robots while he himself deals with fears of obsolescence.

"Futurama" is filled with loathsome but hilarious characters. Bender the robot (John Dimaggio) wants to kill all humans, but his felonious antics are always a highlight of the show. Professor Farnsworth (Billy West) is a mad scientist who dreams of doomsday devices and atomic monsters, but his mad genius makes him almost as funny as Bender.
Then there's starship captain Zapp Brannigan (also Billy West), a wannabe lech who lacks the charm one needs. He's captain of the Nimbus, a ship in the Doop (Democratic Order of Planets), with beleaguered alien second-in-command Kif Kroker (Maurice Lamarche). Kif is Zapp's Spock, but an abused assistant instead of a trusted advisor.
Zapp, Kif, and their crewmen wear red Doop uniforms, with gold stylings and miniskirts. In "Zapp Gets Canceled," Leela, Fry, and Bender take over the Nimbus and start wearing those same uniforms.

Conceived by Barbara Pyle and media mogul Ted Turner, Captain Planet was an ecological hero way ahead of his time. The animated series ran for years with some nifty design work by Neal Adams and his Continuity Associates. Each episode featured an adventure and a lesson (of course). It endeared itself to a generation of viewers and remained an enduring figure from the 1990s.
Now, Warner Home Entertainment has released Captain Planet the Complete Franchise, with 41 hours and 31 minutes of environmental goodness. For silly legal reasons, the show has two titles evenly split among its six seasons: Captain Planet and the Planeteers (animated by Dic) and The New Adventures of Captain Planet (animated by Hanna-Barbera) for the final three seasons.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Futurama season 12, episode 5, "One is Silicon and the Other Gold."Futurama season 12, episode 5, "One is Silicon and the Other Gold," places one of my favorite characters a little more in the limelight than usual, and I'm so happy to see more of him beyond the occasional one-liner. The figure in question is, in my opinion, one of the best supporting characters in Futurama. He's long been a part of the show, and his role has largely been the same throughout. Finally, he becomes a slightly more prominent part of the Futurama cast, and it makes me want the writers to use him even more in the future.
Now, Futurama's universe is very densely populated. So, I understand that very few characters are guaranteed an appearance in each episode. Sometimes, even the core members of the Planet Express crew can take a back seat. That being said,...

Disney princesses like Elsa and Anna face mature problems despite being young teens. Elsa was 21 in Frozen, with age becoming more aligned with responsibilities in sequels. Disney has addressed issues with underage Disney princess ages through live-action remakes.
Disney princesses, including Frozen's Elsa and Anna, get involved in all types of dangerous situations despite how old many of them are, and the Disney princess ages might surprise many audience members. Villains sometimes reveal their entire plan in a monologue, giving heroes a final chance to thwart them. Heroic movie characters survive dangerous situations, outsmart villains, and capitalize on distractions. Most villains could have succeeded if they remained silent and didn't underestimate the hero's cunning.
Villains in some well-known, even praised movies, have been known to give away their entire plan in a villainous monologue, allowing the hero one last chance to save the day. Most often, the villain reveals everything because they believe that they have won; the damage cannot be undone, or they are about to kill the hero, and it won't make any difference. They are just gloating about their victory to make it even worse for the hero. However, they might have been one of the movie villains who got away with their plan if they had remained silent.

The original voice cast of Futurama is back for the show's eleventh season, bringing iconic characters like Fry, Leela, and Bender to life once again. Billy West, who voices multiple roles, including Fry and Professor Farnsworth, also played Ren and Stimpy in The Ren & Stimpy Show, and even took over the role of Bugs Bunny in Space Jam. Katey Sagal, known for her live-action roles in Married... with Children and Sons of Anarchy, stars as Leela, the capable warrior and captain of the Planet Express ship.
The Futurama cast of characters is one of the reasons the animated comedy remains so beloved after various cancelations and revivals, and most of the cast of Futurama season 12 has been present since the very first episode aired in 1999. Futurama returned once more to our screens last year with a fourth outing on Hulu. The long-running animated series about the hijinks of intergalactic delivery crew Planet Express has seen its share of cancellations and comebacks over the years. Originally debuting on Fox in the late 90s to early 2000s, it lived on through movies and a Comedy Central run before that finale was called into question as well.
Now under the banner of Hulu, fans were eager to see what more adventures the creative minds behind Matt Groening and David X. Cohen could conjure up utilizing their blend of sci-fi fantasy and subversive humor. Overall the response was positive, with the new episodes feeling like a natural extension of the beloved world that had been established. It was clear the writers still had more stories to tell and the characters’ charm remained intact despite the passage of time.

Spencer Grammer, Harland Williams, Will Friedle, Harry Lennix, Juliana Harkavy and John Dimaggio are among the performers comprising the ensemble voice cast of the animated sci-fi comedy movie Isla Monstro.
Hailing from multimedia company Abyssmal Entertainment, the feature has completed production and launches promotion at San Diego Comic-Con with a booth and a panel taking place Saturday. The project is directed and animated by Steven Shea (Surviving Supercon), who co-wrote the script with James Schrader, and it is currently seeking distribution.
Isla Monstro centers on ne’er-do-well Duke (voiced by Schrader), who falls off a cruise ship and awakens on an abandoned, top secret government island that is rampant with mutants and monsters left over from a failed “super soldier” mission from the 1980s. Duke concocts a scheme to convert the island into a high-class resort getaway with the creatures serving as staff, which does not please the U.S. government.

The brains, called the Brainspawn, hate all forms of intelligence, and aim to rid the universe of any brainwaves other than their own. They also emanate an energy field that drastically reduces the intelligence of everyone on Earth; shortly after the invasion, everyone decides to play the lottery, buy internet stock, and join the Reform Party.
Only Fry (Billy West) is immune to the Brainspawn's energy field, thanks to an old time-travel incident that caused Fry to become his own grandfather (don't ask). Fry confronts the Brain Leader (Maurice Lamarche) in the New York Public Library, the ideal place for a brain to hang out. Initially, the Brain Leader psychically inserts Fry and Leela (Katey Sagal) into books like "Moby-Dick" and "Pride and Prejudice," but Fry eventually outwits the brain,...

Have you ever noticed how Tommy from Rugrats sounds just like one of the Powerpuff Girls? Or that Scooby-Doo and Astro from The Jetsons speak very similar dog languages?
Hollywood’s voice-acting community is full of really talented people who can churn out a bunch of different voices, but that doesn’t mean they don’t occasionally have characters that end up sounding exactly alike (it doesn’t help that this group of performers is relatively small).
To that end, here are 10 sets of cartoon characters whose voices are practically interchangeable…
10 Scooby-Doo and Astro
The Jetsons, which debuted as a prime-time show in 1962, is considered a classic today, but it didn’t gain that status until the 1980s when it re-debuted on Saturday mornings with new episodes. And so, when Scooby-Doo came along in 1969, six years after The Jetsons was canceled, voice actor Don Messick thought nothing of re-using Astro...

In the "Futurama" episode "Calculon 2.0", the famously hammy acting robot Calculon (Maurice Lamarche) had been dead for years, having swallowed poison on stage in an attempt to make his death scene more realistic. He had been replaced on the soap opera "All My Circuits" with a new acting robot named Vextron, and fans hated the new actor. Fry (Billy West) and Bender (John Dimaggio) are so disgusted with Vextron that they resolve to exhume Calculon's mechanical husk and reunite it with his free-floating memory, stored in an ineffable cloud somewhere. The Robot Devil (Dan Castellaneta) hands over Calculon's "soul," and Professor Farnsworth (West) sets up a very, very scientific reactivation process to reunite Calculon with his body.
The process requires the Planet Express crew to wear protective, lead-lined "robes," and active five laser-connect wireless network hubs ... that just happen to form a pentagram. They have to reverse-install Calculon's programming, which...

In the "Futurama" episode "When Aliens Attack", Earth is invaded by the brutish -- and TV-obsessed -- Omicronians. It seems that their planet, Omicron Persei 8, was still receiving Earth TV signals broadcast from a millennium before, and they had become very involved in the hottest TV shows of 1999. The leader of the Omicronians, Lrrr (Maurice Lamarche), became incensed when a signal from his favorite show, "Single Female Lawyer," was unexpectedly interrupted, and he led a fleet of warships to Earth in response. How did the season finale of "Single Female Lawyer" turn out? Lrrr needed to know, or else he'd destroy the planet.
As is often the case when Earth is invaded, the President dispatched Zapp Brannigan (Billy West) to take care of the threat. "Futurama" fans will be able to tell you that this is always a bad idea, as Zapp Brannigan is a dumb, over-confident blowhard with no...
