Atanas Atanasov was born on September, 15, 1955 in Sofia. In 1980, he graduated from acting in National Academy for Theater and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria in classes of professor Alexander Stoyanov . From 1980 to 1985 he worked in the dramatic theater in Sliven, from 1986 to 2000 in the Theatre "Bulgarian Army", and from 2000 to 2001 in National Theatre. From 2001 he is a freelance actor.
