Cleopatra Entertainment has obtained the North American distribution rights to Get Gone, a thriller starring Lin Shaye (Insidious franchise), Rico E. Anderson (Apple TV+‘s Truth Be Told), Robert Miano (Girls Trip), Adam Bitterman (Chicago P.D.), and Weston Cage Coppola (Lord of War). Written and directed by first-timer Michael Thomas Daniel, the plot centers on a group of Internet hoax busters on a team-building retreat led by a local outdoor guide (Bitterman). Things quickly go sideways when the hoax team crosses paths with the backwoods Maxwell family who’s currently warring with an invasive drilling company. And once the hoax team’s hidden agenda comes to light, things get much worse. Bailey Coppola, Bradley Stryker, and Emily Shenaut also co-star. Actor Jason Connery's hard-hitting new movie is to be filmed among the derelict houses Hurricane Katrina destroyed in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The British actor and Monster star Pruitt Taylor Vince will star in Glass Houses when it goes before cameras next March.
The film, which marks Mark Bernier's directorial debut, is a crime drama, which pits a detective against a paedophile ex-priest as he investigates the rape and murder of a transgender teen.
Damaged structures used in the movie will be reconstructed or renovated during filming at the production company's expense.
Additionally, the filmmakers are earmarking a portion of the picture's distribution proceeds for local reconstruction and mental health services for hurricane victims.
