The View cohosts – sans moderator Whoopi Goldberg who was out for a previous work commitment – dove right into the new Trump era, dissecting yesterday’s Inauguration and pondering what the next four years will look like.
Some of today’s Hot Topics observations follow. Watch the segment below.
Joy Behar (serving as guest moderator): “So if he’s sending criminals away, where is he going? And what better way to unify the country than by ripping families apart and punishing anyone who doesn’t fall in line?”
Sara Haines: “I watched it, just the speech part. A lot of the revelry, it was hard because this was not someone I voted for so I did not feel like sitting around and watching it. But the speech itself when it was done my first reaction was what is this country he speaks of? Because I couldn’t reconcile the...

“The View” hosts Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Anna Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin appeared on the Jan. 21 episode of the ABC daytime talk show to discuss Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration (Whoopi Goldberg is out this week due to a previously planned work commitment). The four women took issue with Trump’s polarizing inauguration speech, in which he said it will now be government policy that there are only two genders (male and female) and declared a “national emergency at the southern border” to return “millions of criminal aliens back to the place where they came from.”
“If he’s sending all the criminals away, where is he going?” Behar asked, acknowledging Trump’s own recent convictions. “And what better way to unify the country than by ripping families apart and punishing anyone who doesn’t fall in line.”

Jon Stewart took swipes at President Trump’s Monday Inauguration during the post-ceremony “Daily Show,” including torching Democratic lawmakers who followed decorum.
While showing footage of Democrats arriving and making nice during traditional event, Stewart criticized the leaders — except for no-show Michelle Obama — for acting as if it was business as usual in Washington.
“Also attending were all those people who warned Americans to shun this wannabe fascist dictator called Trump,” he said. “‘Look at me, Ma! Oh, let’s go see Hitler and get a quick selfie first! Hello! Look at us! A quick one for the ‘Gram!’ Former President Obama was there. George Bush seemed kind of there. Even Mike Pence showed up, I guess to let the crowd finish the job. Only Michelle Obama seemed to have the consistent ethical stance of saying, ‘When they go low, I stay the fuck home.'”

While some might say Donald Trump’s inauguration marked a somber day in U.S. history, The Daily Show‘s Jon Stewart had dick jokes aplenty.
The comedian and political host incised the D.C. affair with one-liners aimed at those in attendance (from their fashion choices to their general decision to show up at all), X owner Elon Musk’s odd/potentially terrifying salute and outgoing Potus Joe Biden’s down-to-the-wire blanket pardon.
Regarding the peaceful transition of power, which began with Biden’s tea-time with Trump, Stewart quipped: “I’m not saying Biden should have done his own insurrection, but there’s gotta be a happy medium between storming the Capitol and ‘would you like a crumpet?'”
As for those present, Stewart marveled at the people who had previously denounced Trump — as a fascist and otherwise — who dropped by: “George Bush seemed kind of there — definitely high. Even Mike Pence showed up,...

A video of the Highwaymen appearing on a talk show in 1991 has been making the rounds on social media since the 2024 presidential election, not because of any song they sang, but because of what they said. At least three members of the country supergroup called out the good ol’ U.S.A., courageously pointing out, in the words of Willie Nelson, that “There’s a lot of things wrong with this country.”
That Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Kris Kristofferson — the fourth Highwayman, Waylon Jennings, didn’t weigh in — dared to...

Well, if there is anything that we’ve learned about Michelle Obama these last few years, it’s that if she doesn’t like someone she is going to do whatever it takes to avoid that person at all costs.
And while we don’t know exactly who she was trying to avoid at Jimmy Carter’s memorial service on Thursday morning in Washington, D.C., CNN confirms that Michelle Obama was missing today due to a “scheduling conflict” caused by an extended holiday vacation in Hawaii.
Michelle Obama Called Out For Her Lies
But then again, the memorial service was certainly one for the history books. Donald Trump and Barack Obama engaged in an unusually lengthy conversation, drawing attention from attendees.
What’s more, Hillary and Bill Clinton made their entrance without acknowledging either Obama or Trump.
If that weren’t enough, Kamala Harris entered the room without acknowledging either Obama or Trump.

What Did Catherine Austin Fitts Say About Sean Diddy Combs & California Wildfires? (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Catherine Austin Fitts, a former official under George H.W. Bush, has raised eyebrows with her provocative theories linking the devastating California wildfires to Sean Diddy Combs and the allegations surrounding him.
Through her Financial Rebellion podcast, Fitts speculated that the fires might be a smokescreen to obscure crimes tied to the disgraced rapper, stirring a whirlwind of online debate.
We need answers.
“In situations like the L.A. fires…I look at patterns. How many of the homeowners were on the P. Diddy list? It’s hard to conceive that the original fires weren’t triggered from the sky or from the suborbital platform…”

Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn following his 2024 arrest. Homeland Security raided two of his properties, one in Miami and the other in Los Angeles, in March 2024. Now, the LA fires could threaten Combs’ LA mansion. Here’s what to know.
Have the LA fires affected Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ mansion?
Sean “Diddy” Combs purchased his mansion in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of LA for $40 million in 2014. The 17,000-square-foot home features nine bedrooms, eleven bathrooms, a 35-seat movie theater, a wine room, a fitness studio, and a lagoon pool. Combs has an additional 3,000-square-foot structure he used as a guest home and a separate spa house containing a steam room, massage room, and beauty salon.

Sam Moore, one-half of the Grammy-winning R&b duo Sam & Dave behind ’60s hits “Soul Man,” “Hold On I’m Coming” and “I Thank You,” died this morning in Coral Gables, Fla. at the age of 89.
The cause of death was listed as complications recovering from surgery.
Born on October, 12, 1935, Moore grew up in Miami’s Overtown and Liberty City neighborhoods and began his musical journey in church. Upon becoming the singing Mc and talent show host at Miami’s King O’ Hearts Club, he met Dave Prater, a local baker who tried out for the club’s talent show. Thus was the genesis of Sam & Dave, who were eventually inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.
After being discovered in late 1964 at the club, where they had become locally known, Sam & Dave were signed to Atlantic Records. Jerry Wexler loaned the duo to Atlantic’s southern production arm,...

Well, we certainly didn’t see any of this coming. It appears as though Jimmy Carter’s funeral is one for the history books. That’s because of all the engagement and non-engagement that happened between the country’s leaders. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

In filmmaker Alexander Payne’s acclaimed 2004 wine snob dramedy Sideways–a 4x Film Independent Spirit Award winner–vino-loving schlemiel Miles Raymond (Paul Giamatti) spends a lost weekend in Southern California wine country gradually coming apart at the emotional seams. At one point, dismayed by some bad news regarding the nonpublication of his new novel and an increasingly difficult-to-ignore awareness of his own loserdom, Miles impulsively storms into the tasting room of one particularly, agonizingly corporatized McVineyard and proceeds to freak the fuck out.
It’s not stretching the metaphor here to perhaps compare the shock of Miles’ existential meltdown, then, to the mindset of the typical indie film consumer (and/or industry participant) by the time of the mid-2000s. In both instances, there was the pervading sense that true believers had been left adrift to drown in a sea of plenty.

Sometimes, even someone like Pamela Anderson — who is boldly herself in every facet — gets a case of mistaken identity.
During an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast to discuss her starring role in Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl, Anderson was asked if anyone has ever confused her for another celebrity. In response, the actress offered the most unexpected anecdote.
“This one time, I was on a flight and this guy came up to me and said, ‘Do you know what this country’s done for you?’” Anderson recalled.

Updated, with details on National Day of Mourning: President Joe Biden has ordered all U.S. flags on federal public buildings and grounds be flown at half-staff for the next 30 days to honor Jimmy Carter, who died today at age 100.
Biden also set January 9 as a National Day of Mourning throughout the United States.
In remarks this evening, Biden paid tribute to his “great friend” and predecessor in the White House, as a man of “simple decency” who “lived a life measured not by words, but by his deeds.”
In remarks in St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where Biden is on vacation, the president also recalled the support that Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, gave to him after his son, Beau, died of cancer.
“Jimmy knew the ravages of the disease too well,” Biden said. “He lost his father, his brother, his sisters, to this terrible disease.

Dick Capri, the comedian and actor, has died. He was 93.
After spending his final Christmas with his family, Capri succumbed to a bleeding enlarged aorta, dying in his sleep in the early hours of Thursday, Dec. 26 in Florida.
“The world is not as funny today as it was yesterday,” the comedian’s son Jeff told TMZ, explaining that his father knew his time was limited as the aorta was deemed inoperable due to his age.
Spending the holiday with his son, daughter-in-law and life partner, Dick FaceTimed with loved ones out of town and enjoyed a meal from his favorite restaurant before his death.
Born Richard Crupi in Reading, Pennsylvania, Dick began performing stand-up comedy in the ’60s, with appearances on The Merv Griffin Show and The Ed Sullivan Show, before embarking on tour with Englebert Humperdinck in 1973, which took him to Radio City Music Hall and venues across the world.

With all the hype surrounding its 50th anniversary season, someone was due to stand out on Saturday Night Live this year. Marcello Hernandez seemed primed to take the spotlight. Maybe Chloe Fineman would finally be crowned queen. Sarah Sherman? Ego Nwodim? One of the new featured players? But an unexpected comedian has become the season’s breakout star: Dana Carvey.
Yeah, that Dana Carvey.
It was an unexpected giggle in the season premiere when Carvey dropped in unexpectedly as the show’s ninth (ninth!) Joe Biden impersonator. Predictably, Carvey nailed the guy in ways that more precise impressionists like James Austin Johnson couldn’t. “Guess what? And by the way…” became Biden shorthand in the way that Carvey’s “Nah ga da it!” defined George Bush. Maybe Carvey wasn’t throwing 100 mph anymore but he still had enough of a fastball to deliver quality innings during election season.

The funniest thing about the ending of Lioness season 2 is Joe’s dialogue where she heroically declared, “I observe and give advice unless one of my assets goes down.” Byron had literally ordered her to stay on the base, but she changed the rules as if she was the superior here. I understand what the showrunners were going for here, but seriously it’s not some private ranch in Montana, it’s a Middle-Eastern country with which you have weak diplomatic relations, and if anything goes south, then Joe’s heroism could start a war where more people would get killed just to justify the mess. Also, on a technical level, Joe’s lines ruined the ending of the show because she already hinted at what was going to happen in the climax. But let’s just accept it, all these are stupid notions being peddled in the name of entertainment and propaganda.

President Joe Biden’s pardon for Hunter, his sole surviving son, was a symphony missing a crucial note: “I changed my mind.”

Before Tom Cruise was driving motorcycles off cliffs, clinging to planes, and fighting bad guys atop moving trains in the name of "Mission: Impossible," the franchise had its humble beginnings in the form of a very '60s CBS series. The original "Mission: Impossible" was a spy series with a rotating cast of characters created by Bruce Gellar, who died in a plane crash just five years after the show ended. Several key cast members have passed away in the years since then, including Peter Graves, Greg Morris, Martin Landau, Steven Hill, and, of course, Leonard Nimoy.
"Mission: Impossible" was a huge success when it aired, winning 10 Emmys throughout its seven-season run and producing 171 episodes. The show inspired an '80s revival series, but "Mission: Impossible" really took off when Cruise (and Brian De Palma) got a hold of the franchise in 1996. Well, this is certainly telling. There’s a lot of speculation that suggests Joe Biden was probably a huge fan of Donald Trump this entire time.
Joe Biden – Was A Huge Fan Of Donald Trump This Entire Time?
That’s because the president was grinning from ear to ear when he met with Trump at The White House on Wednesday.
It was such a sight to see that both fans and critics on both sides of the aisle were quite surprised to see the two men getting along so well.
Donald Trump did hint what the two men did talk about while they were in the Oval Office together for their meeting.

Joe Biden – Was A Huge Fan Of Donald Trump This Entire Time?
That’s because the president was grinning from ear to ear when he met with Trump at The White House on Wednesday.

Veteran journalist Chris Wallace is departing Warner Bros Discovery-owned CNN to pursue the development of his own media empire, he confirmed in a news interview on Monday.
Speaking with the Daily Beast, Wallace said the time was right to bring his brand of journalism to different platforms, at a time when news conversations are moving away from cable TV in favor of podcasting and streaming.
“This is the first time in 55 years I’ve been between jobs,” Wallace, 77, told the news outlet. “I am actually excited and liberated by that.”
Wallace said he isn’t sure what’s next, adding that “not knowing is part of the challenge. I‘m waiting to see what comes over the transom. It might be something that I haven’t thought of at all.”

Hank Hill almost abstained from voting for traditional Texas Republican George H.W. Bush over a shitty handshake, but many Americans think that he’d have no moral qualms about supporting a man who is famously grabby.
On this pivotal election day, British market research company YouGov knows that there is one issue that is on all Americans' minds as they make their way to the polls: Would Hannibal Lector be a die-hard Donald Trump fan, or would he possibly find Kamala Harris more palatable?
That’s why YouGov spent the lead-up to Election Day going to great lengths to poll Americans on how they believe over 50 fictional characters would lean in the 2024 presidential election, calculating the partisan divide between Carrie Bradshaw and John Rambo with pseudo-scientific certainty.
YouGov released the results of their fictional character voter poll earlier this week as they scored 54 fictional Americans from movies and television shows...

Given the sprawling buffet of cuisine-related gags that have made it into the 773 Simpsons episodes and counting over the last 35 years, only an unparalleled expert on both the show and on food could narrow the many thousands of punchlines down to a definitive three-course meal of the top Simpsons food jokes — mmm, definitive.
Former Simpsons head writer and co-showrunner Bill Oakley isn’t just an undisputed authority on the show that put him on the map, he’s also an expert junk food writer whom The Wrap once hailed as “the Gordon Ramsay of fast food” for his many viral reviews of drive-thru fare. The 58-year-old Oakley also has plenty of experience combining his two areas of expertise, as, last year, he partnered with a Portland-area brewery to create the Steamed Hams Lager that goes great with Albany-style burgers. From Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump to Barack Obama, an appearance on Saturday Night Live has become an obligatory whistle-stop for presidential candidates over the past 20 years. Kamala Harris was the latest to join the parade last night, communing with her comedy doppelgänger Maya Rudolph to make one final push for votes in advance of Tuesday’s election.
Looking at one another in the mirror, Harris and “Harris” gave each other words of encouragement during the campaign’s final days. There was a shot at Trump, albeit one that required viewers to have seen the viral video in which the former president had trouble locating a garbage truck door handle. The real Harris winced at Rudolph’s impression: “I don’t really laugh like that, do I?”
“A little bit,” Kamala/Maya conceded.
Then the two shared some cutesy Kamala puns. “Now, Kamala, take my palmala. The American people want to stop the chaos,...

Members of the armed services can and will argue amongst themselves, but in the minds of people and pop culture, Navy SEALs loom large as the picture of the United States' most elite military men. We can probably thank the fiction of Tom Clancy, and the fact that a Seal team that killed 9-11 mastermind Osama bin Laden, but Hollywood has been enamored with the special operations force for at least the last three decades. When a character in any movie is declared to be either a current or former Navy Seal, it's a given that they won't go down easily. When we discuss the most ruthless thing a U.S. president can do short of a nuclear strike, more often than not it's, "Send in Seal Team 6!"
While movies often take artistic license, it's fair to say that some of the movies featuring Navy SEALs are significantly more accurate than others,...

Exclusive: Coming right down to the wire with the polls tied days before Election Day, the White House race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump has many Democrats in Hollywood very nervous.
“Fascism is at the door, and her campaign isn’t fighting back enough, aren’t breaking through,” an openly worried PR executive declares of the vice president’s battle with the Project 2025-backed former president. “It’s too tight in the battleground states, and she needs a sweep to make it to 270 [electoral votes].
“This should have been over, a done deal, weeks ago.”
Tinseltown’s inclination toward an action movie third-act Tko aside, insiders tell Deadline that dread over a possible Trump return to the Oval Office has become the only conversation anyone in the C-suites and West L.A. enclosures are having right now. With Hollywood still one of the top donors to the Democrats, those conversations alternate...

Back before climate change became such a polarized issue, the stakes were already high. Growing up in the 1970s, concern about our warming world started gaining attention. People saw signs of record heat waves and natural disasters. Leaders like President Carter sounded warnings too, urging America to cut wasteful habits as scientists’ grim forecasts grew louder. Most seemed willing to make sacrifices then.
But changing times and tensions brought change as well. The gas crisis shook things up, and new voices rose that downplayed dangers. By 1988, temperatures were still climbing, yet few could’ve predicted what the next few years held in store climate-wise—or politically. That’s where The White House Effect shines a light, taking us back to a pivotal period soon forgotten.

There’s no shortage of conviction as James Carville scans the political landscape in the revealing documentary Carville: Winning is Everything, Stupid. Legendary Democratic strategist and commentator Carville fearlessly speaks his mind on the challenges facing his party as the 2024 election approaches.
Interweaving Carville’s analysis with moments from his storied career, director Matt Tyrnauer explores what makes this “Raging Cajun” tick while capturing a decisive time for American democracy.
A mastermind of President Clinton’s Watershed 1992 campaign, Carville understands the intricacies of electoral politics like few others. Yet his roots lie in a small Louisiana town, where memories of racial injustice still burn bright. Carville’s rise from humble beginnings makes his fierce determination all the more compelling. Through it all, an unlikely marriage to Republican consultant Mary Matalin has persisted against odds.
As the documentary progresses alongside election season, Carville’s doubts grow regarding Joe Biden’s candidacy.

As Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs solved naval crimes across twenty seasons on NCIS, fans came to know him as a master investigator—tough yet thoughtful, always getting the bad guy. But what set him on that path? NCIS: Origins takes us back to 1991, when Gibbs was just starting out following a tragic past.
The newest entry in the hit NCIS franchise, Origins premiered last fall on CBS, transporting viewers to Camp Pendleton in 1991. Here we find Gibbs taking his first steps as a young agent, still grieving the loss of his wife and daughter. Helping show him the ropes is Mike Franks, a gruff but effective team leader.

Guess what? And by the way — that ice cream moment between Dana Carvey and Maya Rudolph during last week’s Saturday Night Live Cold Open spoofing the vice presidential debate was completely spontaneous.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Superfly podcast, which he co-hosts with David Spade, Carvey revealed the snafu featuring him (as Joe Biden) smashing ice cream in Maya Rudolph’s face (as Kamala Harris) was a spur-of-the-moment decision.
“The ice cream cone was not planned,” Carvey said. “I asked the prop master to give me an ice cream cone just to hold for the dress show. And then the air show, she gave me [a] much bigger [one], and I didn’t ask her.”

You take a major risk while trying to be as topical as possible when you make a documentary about a contemporary issue: The situation you originally set out to examine can change in heartbeat — too late for you to do much more than make a passing reference to that change in your movie’s final moments. Meanwhile, the audience already knows about that development before sitting down to watch what you’ve constructed.
Consider the case of “Carville: Winning Is Everything, Stupid,” a revealing and fascinating documentary portrait of James Carville, the Louisiana-born Democratic political operative whose uninhibited self-assurance, aggressive proselytizing and profanely funny pronouncements have earned him the nickname of “The Raging Cajun.”
For much of his film’s running time, director Matt Tyrnauer observes Carville as he follows with ever-increasing anxiety the 2024 Presidential race, fearing the worst as early polls indicate incumbent Joe Biden will be thumped by ex-President Donald Trump.

For pre-cable or Internet audiences of a certain vintage and generation, the arrival of a late-night, weekly sketch comedy show, Saturday Night (Live), represented keenly subversive, self-aware, comically absurdist counter-cultural programming. It was the last, sustained gasp of one generation’s rebellion against societal norms, as a majority of the country’s voters supported a counter-counter-revolution that first brought Richard M. Nixon to the White House and – after a four-year reprieve provided by the post-Watergate election of Jimmy Carter – 12 years of Ronald Reagan and George Bush and their reactionary, right-wing policies. Saturday Night Live long ago gave away whatever right it had to call itself subversive, functioning primarily as a training ground for successive waves of up-and-coming comedians (many of whom, in time,...

"The Simpsons" is entering its 36th season this year, and if you're expecting any major changes to the longest running sitcom in television history, you probably aren't a fan of "The Simpsons" because nothing ever changes in Springfield. Aside from killing off a handful of characters (most notably Maude Flanders and Edna Krabappel) and retiring the Kwik-e-Mart proprietor Apu Nahasapeemapetilon (in response to criticism that he'd long been voiced by white actor Hank Azaria), the constantly quarreling middle-class brood and their motley crew of neighbors, coworkers, and classmates are virtually unchanged in appearance and temperament 30-plus years later.
Given how much our world has changed over this time frame, you might expect this to be kind of problematic. Well, it kind of is. When "The Simpsons" dropped Apu, they lost one of their few recurring characters of color, and the series has remained steadfast in its devotion to not creating...

Dana Carvey made a surprise return to “Saturday Night Live” last weekend to portray President Joe Biden. On the Season 50 premiere episode, he joined Jim Gaffigan as Tim Walz, Andy Samberg as Doug Emhoff, Maya Rudolph as Kamala Harris, Bowen Yang as Jd Vance and James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump in a cold open parodying the 2024 election candidates’ rallies.
“It’s been top secret. I’ve kept it under wraps for weeks, but I was asked by Lorne Michaels to come on ‘Saturday Night Live’ … to do Biden,” Carvey said on his and David Spade’s podcast, “Superfly,” recorded before the season premiere of “SNL.”

The 50th season of Saturday Night Live kicked off this weekend, and predictably began with a cold open that featured Maya Rudolph plus a cavalcade of celebrities impersonating prominent political personalities. In addition to Rudolph’s Kamala Harris, we also got Andy Samberg as her husband Doug Emhoff and Jim Gaffigan as Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz, who, to be fair, does have Bhpe (Big Hot Pockets Energy).
The crowd went wild, presumably because the crowd wasn’t comprised of current cast members of SNL desperately vying for screen time.
To cap things off, veteran player Dana Carvey took the stage and showed off his Joe Biden impression. Carvey obviously has a long history of playing presidents on SNL, largely because Lorne Michaels didn’t stubbornly insist on hiring, say, Dan Aykroyd to play George H.W. Bush.

More than 30 years later, Dana Carvey still knows how to nail a presidential impersonation.
After the Saturday Night Live alum returned to the NBC sketch comedy show this weekend for the cold open its milestone 50th season premiere, he explained why his Joe Biden impression was “trickier” to pull off than others and how the surprise appearance came about.
“It’s been top-secret,” he told fellow SNL alum David Spade on a special pre-recorded episode of their Fly on the Wall podcast. “I’ve kept it under wraps for weeks, but I was asked by Lorne Michaels to come on Saturday Night Live … to do Biden. Because I’ve sort of casually developed — I like to take, like with George Bush Sr., ‘not gonna do it,’ I tried to do that treatment to Biden. While it was all but official that Maya Rudolph would be playing Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris on “Saturday Night Live” Season 50 the minute President Joe Biden dropped out and endorsed his Vice President, ever since, the internet has been rife with speculation over who would play her husband, Doug Emhoff, and eventual VP pick, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. Initially, Steve Martin was circulated as a possible Walz stand-in, and series creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels even made one of his favorite hosts and guests stars the offer, but the “Only Murders in the Building” star had to turn him down. Instead, as we found out last night, your favorite “big dad energy” comedian took the reins of your favorite “big dad energy” politician, with Jim Gaffigan playing Walz in all his Midwestern glory. The “SNL” Season 50 premiere was predictably star-studded with a cold open that revealed Dana Carvey as Joe Biden, Jim Gaffigan as Tim Walz and Andy Samberg as Doug Emhoff alongside Maya Rudolph’s previously announced return as Vice President Kamala Harris. But these were no mere one-off cameos — Carvey, Gaffigan and Samberg are set to play these roles for the duration of Season 50, TheWrap has learned.
Carvey takes over the Biden role from Mikey Day, who played the President last season. Jim Carrey famously played Biden during the 2020 election, but stepped out of the role after Biden was elected. Alex Moffat filled the role during the 2020-2021 season.

Lorne Michaels initially approached Steve Martin to play Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate Tim Walz, but...

Updated with SNL & Trump tweets, video: “Well, well, well, look who fell out of that coconut tree,” said Maya Rudolph tonight, kicking off the cold open of the Season 50 premiere of Saturday Night Live. “I see you trying to leave, but the doors are locked,” added James Austin Johnson later, back as Donald Trump for another year.
With fellow alum Andy Samberg coming on as current Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff to join Rudolph’s Emmy-winning Kamala Harris, and Jim Gaffigan as Democratic VP nominee Gov. Tim Walz, it was all Potus politics all SNL cold open tonight. Plus a few TLC moves from the current late-night Veep, with SNL‘s current Mvp Bowen Yang as a Radiohead quoting GOP VP nominee Sen. J.D. Vance in the mix too.
Tim Walz hasn’t been this excited since he got a 10% rebate on a leaf blower from a Menards #SNLPremiere pic.twitter.
