Prior to becoming a journalist and TV presenter, she used to work as a racing instructor at Silverstone.
She comes from a racing family - her father was a member of the British karting team, her brother is a professional racing driver, and her grandfather used to race at Brooklands.
She started racing karts at the age of 12. In her very first race, she was overtaken by future Formula 1 driver David Coulthard.
In addition to being a fully qualified racing driver, she also holds a powerboat racing licence.
While Vicki works for Channel 5 presenting Fifth Gear (2002), her husband works for the BBC as part of the production staff on rival motoring show Top Gear (1978).
She grew up on the family farm, and was educated at the Perse School for Girls in Cambridge, England.
Beginning with the 2008 season of Fifth Gear (2002), she began using her married name professionally, being credited on the show as "Vicki Churchward".
Drives a Mark 2 VW Golf GTI and a Honda S2000, and rides a Ducati Monster 750 motorbike.
