He reprised the role of Trelane for Star Trek: Judgment Rites (1993), returned as Koloth for the 1994 Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) episode, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Blood Oath (1994), and was a regular at Star Trek conventions and cruises.

During and following his acting career, he worked with the Motion Picture & Television Fund, and at one point was its administrator and chief fundraiser. He died at age 87 in 2011, at the Motion Picture & Television Fund's hospital in Woodland Hills, CA.
