Canto e Castro was born on 24 April 1930 in Lisbon, Portugal. He was an actor, known for Terra Estrangeira (1995), O Anjo da Guarda (1998) and Far from One's Eyes (1998). He was previously married to Ema da Purificação Dias. He died on 1 February 2005 in Almada, Portugal.
