Aimee: The Visitor opens with a title card telling us that Aimee was not portrayed by an actor or created with digital effects. She is, they claim, the first femme fatale created using AI. The timing is ironic considering the current strikes in Hollywood were, in part, the result of studios wanting to replace writers and performers with AI. However, if this is state of the art, they don’t need to worry just yet.
Scott Keyes is a hacker. You can tell because he has his computer set up in an abandoned loft and sits shirtless in front of his monitor so engrossed in the porn he’s watching he doesn’t notice he’s not alone.
Hunter and his sister Gazelle (Faith West; Maid Droid) have stopped by with some software for him.

Plot: When a computer hacker unlocks an advanced Artificial Intelligence program called AImee, this artificial femme fatale gradually takes over his life and sets out to destroy anyone who opposes her.
Review: Full Moon founder Charles Band has always had his eye out for the “next big thing” in entertainment and technology. He was one of the pioneers of the home video age, having started his own video distribution company in 1978. He cashed in on the brief 3-D resurgence in the early ‘80s. Full Moon’s 1993 film Arcade drew attention for the amount of CGI it featured. He started his own streaming service (FullMoonFeatures.com). So it’s no surprise that he happens to be the director of the movie that stars “the very first AI-created femme fatale in film history”. That would be AImee, the title character in the new Full Moon project AImee: The Visitor.

It’s time for a new episode of the Awfully Good Horror Movies video series, and in this one we’re looking back at we’re looking back at a 1999 entry in Full Moon’s long-running Puppet Master franchise, Retro Puppet Master (watch it Here)! To find out why we think watching Retro Puppet Master provides an awfully good time, check out the video embedded above.
Retro Puppet Master was the seventh Puppet Master movie to be released, following Puppet Master, Puppet Master II, Puppet Master III: Toulon’s Revenge, Puppet Master 4, Puppet Master 5: The Final Chapter, and Curse of the Puppet Master, but it’s a prequel that’s set decades before any of the other films. This one was directed by David DeCoteau from a script by Benjamin Carr and tells the following story: Andre Toulon is living a peaceful life as a puppeteer in pre-World War...

Not much more than a group of actors sat round in a Romanian castle (the very same one owned by Charles Band that featured in Castle Freak no doubt) talking trash to each other, with the occasional appearance by a group of deformed “creatures”… that is the plot of Hideous! in a nutshell. Although the official synopsis goes something like this: “Dr. Lorca, an eccentric collector of biological oddities, has just acquired his greatest specimen; a horrible mutant born of noxious waste… but the creature’s rightful owner wants it back. The collector’s clash is cut short though, as the sickening specimen comes to life, re-animating an angry, oozing little army of ferocious freaks.”

I’ll be honest, The Creeps originally came at a time when, beyond the Puppet Master movies, I had grown tired of Full Moon’s schtick… Having moved the studio to Romania, their production values were falling, casting choices were resulting in some truly wooden performances and worst of all their films were getting more and more ridiculous, with gimmicks replacing decent stories. Case in part, The Creeps.
Released in 1997, The Creeps – at least on paper – sounds utterly ridiculous, even for a Full Moon flick, and it’s easy to see why I avoided it for so long. The film is essentially a redux of the “mad scientist” story we’ve seen a million times before – itself a movie archetype as much as the classic monsters who are the heroes of...

Sometimes when I’m behind a particularly idiotic driver, I find myself wondering, in between shouted obscenities, if there’s even anyone at the wheel. Of course when I’m asking this, I’m imagining someone clipping their toenails or prattling away on their cell phone.
Obviously, the latest gossip about Jim-Bob is much more important than the two-ton hunk of steel that they’ve put on the road. Imagine, though, what if there wasn’t anyone in that driver’s seat at all. What if. . . the car was driving itself?
Sure, there are already movies with this premise, take Stephen King’s Maximum Overdrive and Christine for example. Sentient cars aren’t a new concept. However, let’s take this notion a bit further: what if that car in front of you isn’t even a car at all?
Tilda (Shannon Beckner) is in a rut. She’s living with her unemployed,...

Cast: Oded Fehr, Shannon Beckner and Ryan Kennedy.
Ah, the killer car horror sub-genre. Not since Stephen King's Christine and Maximum Overdrive have murderous cars been so fun. Benjamin Carr and Eric Valette's introduction to this genre puts the killer car film into the creature feature genre and the result is a Super Hybrid. This title releases on DVD August 23rd through Anchor Bay Entertainment and the film stars Oded Fehr (Resident Evil), Shannon Breckner (You are Here) and Ryan Kennedy ("Caprica"). Much like the film's title, Super Hybrid is one part female empowerment film and one part mindless entertainment.
A damaged car is brought back to a Chicago Police Department salvage yard for storage and later investigation. A tyrranical garage manager (Fehr) makes sure everyone is on the job, while he harrasses the cute secretary. Then, actress Breckner arrives as Tilda...

It’s not like they’re a bunch of fuckin’ fags hoppin’ around in rented formal wear and seducing everybody in sight with cheesy Euro-trash accents, all right? Forget whatever you’ve seen in the movies: they don’t turn into bats, crosses don’t work. Garlic? You wanna try garlic? You could stand there with garlic around your neck and one of these buggers will bend you fucking over and take a walk up your strada-chocolata While he’s suckin’ the blood outta your neck, all right? And they don’t sleep in coffins lined in taffeta. You wanna kill one, you drive a wooden stake right through his fuckin’ heart. Sunlight turns ‘em into crispy critters.

Here's one film that no longer has to make our annual "Missing in Action" list (which compiles unreleased films sitting on the shelf). Fangoria says Anchor Bay Entertainment has acquired Hybrid for a DVD and Blu-Ray release. Except, when it hits shelves, it will be called Super Hybrid ; this is the third title now for the film. It was originally called Hunter , then it became known as Hybrid . Written by Neal Marshall Stevens and directed by Eric Valette, the film was once described to us as H.R. Giger meets Christine . It tells of a strange car terrorizing folks in a Chicago police impound garage. Said car just happens to be a hungry organic being. Look for it August 23. Here's a trailer...

Simon Crane is directing from a script by Neal Marshall Stevens, the man behind Thirteen Ghosts and MGM's "where the hell is it now?" The Amityville Tapes . Below you'll find the company's pitch: "The Peak" is a 3-D supernatural thriller set in the Himalayas on the world.s most dangerous mountain. Its name is Nanga Parbat, but the locals call it "The Killer Mountain" because they believe it is haunted. Although it is only the sixth-highest peak in the world, more climbers have died on its slopes than even on Mount Everest. This is the story of an American man who led a rescue up the peak a year ago, saw things that defy explanation, and has refused to climb...

Along with the theatrical premieres of both Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and Outlander (in some lucky markets), a slew of DVD's hit the street during the week of January 17-23, 2009. And there was a lot of news to cover, too, including the following highlights:
Bad things often happen in threes, but hopefully this trio of trailers will prove the exception. Spend a little time with Wolvesbayne, Quantum Apocalypse, and Chrome Angels and see what you think of their chances.
One film that could easily go either way is The Horseman, Platinum Dunes' next original production after The Unborn. Dennis Quaid's been hit or miss over the years, but Horseman seems to hold some real potential if the new trailer can be trusted. The international poster definitely has a high creep-out factor to it.
I don't see many comments about his contributions, but I sure hope you guys appreciate...

Last week we had a slew of new trailers to show off to you, one of which was for a new movie from Malefique/One Missed Call (remake) helmer Eric Vallette called Hybrid. Not to be confused with the monster movie of the same name, also in development, this Hybrid is about a predatorial car that eats people. Of course.
Styd got to chat with screenwriter Neal Marshall Stevens about Hybrid recently, and he gave up a bit more information on what it’s about, namely a creature that has perfected the art of camouflage. ”"It functioned by disguising itself and as it moved through history, it disguised itself through different things. And now in the modern age it can disguise itself as cars.” All right, that only makes sense … ”How it would feed is disguise itself as a nondescript car no one would notice during the day and at night it would change,...

The writer behind Thirteen Ghosts is immersing himself once again in the world of the supernatural. This week it was announced Neal Marshall Stevens will write Amityville Tapes , the latest installment in the film franchise revolving that sinister abode at 112 Ocean Avenue. MGM has him so tight-lipped about the project he can't even reveal the producers on board. Still, when ShockTillYouDrop.com gets on the phone with Stevens to talk about his latest endeavors there's plenty more discuss, namely Hybrid - not the creature feature in development but the horror film starring Oded Fehr ( Resident Evil: Extinction ) and directed by Eric Valette ( One Missed Call ). Once known as Hunter , production got underway on Hybrid last year in Regina, Saskatchewan. A promo trailer...

What is it about that little house in Amityville that just keeps our genre coming back again, and again, and again? If this keeps up I'm just gonna lock myself away in that little red room I found ... wait a minute!
According to The Hollywood Reporter the lastest trip to haunted Long Island will be known as The Amityville Tapes and writing duties will be handled by Neal Marshall Stevens who also penned Th13teen Ghosts and Hellraiser: Deader.
The film will be going direct-to-video, and it is said that it will be ultilizing a multi-media approach in the same vein as the Sci-fi Channel's hit show, "Ghost Hunters".
Yeah. You don't have to say it. I know. Stick around for more as it comes.

Buried within a THR article announcing writer Neal Marshall Stevens' partnership with comic book entity Studio 407 (news we broken last May in this interview ) is a reference to a film project entitled Amityville Tapes . It appears this is the long-mooted sequel to 2005's The Amityville Horror and Stevens is attached to write it for MGM. It was revealed in September ( here ) that the studio was finally forging ahead with a follow-up that is said to take its cue from shows like Ghost Hunters . Insiders tell us the next chapter in the "Amityville" franchise has been a priority for company in the last few months. Stevens, in addition to his comic endeavors at Studio 407, also penned Thirteen Ghosts and Hellraiser: Deader , a spec script which was re-tooled to fit...

In a reversal of what we normally report here on the site, THR got word that comic company Studio 407 has hired screenwriter Neal Marshall Stevens to pen two new comic series for them.
Studio 407 has been making news left and right since signing a first-look deal with Myriad Pictures, but I have to admit this is the first time we’ve seen news of a new comic series without mention of film potential, though I’m sure it’s inherent at this point. Stevens will be penning the futuristic action thriller Havoc Bridgade and a horror adventure title called Demon Squad.
The latter is the story of a team of professional demon fighters who are sent in to clean up messes the creatures create, like a suicide epidemic in a small town.
Stevens has been responsible for the Thirteen Ghosts, Hellraiser: Deader and upcoming Amityville Tapes screenplays. Not sure what that last one is,...

Neal Marshall Stevens, screenwriter of the films Thirteen Ghosts and Hellraiser: Deader, has just inked a deal with comic book publisher Studio 407 to pen two comic series: the futuristic action thriller Havoc Brigade and a horror adventure story entitled Demon Squad. Back in Horrorwood, Neal is currently hard at work writing the latest Amityville sequel, The Amityville Tapes. Fangoria sat down with Stevens to ask a few questions about his upcoming series, and the differences between working in the comics industry versus the world of film...
Fangoria: So Neal, how did you get involved with Havoc Brigade, and with Studio-407?
Neal Marshall Stevens: I first met Alex Leung, the head of Studio-407, almost ten years ago, when he was working for New Line Cinema. He was looking for a writer to work on The Ring when it was initially set up there. Unfortunately, it didn't work out but...

Comics publisher Studio 407 has announced two new horror titles to hit shelves in January 2009, and sent along some covers and exclusive samples of what you’ll find inside (see those at the bottom of this page). The first, Shadow Cronicles, adopts the anthology format, while Golem will be a tale of monsters, magic and the stomping out of evil.
Chronicles will consist of three stories, which serve as previews for a trio of individual series that debut in the months after Chronicles hits the shelves. Netherworld (written by Chad Jones and illustrated by R.B. Silva) is about specialists on a distant planet investigating the remnants of a lost extraterrestrial culture and on the edge of finding out its horrible secret. The Night Projectionist (written by Robert Heske and illustrated by Diego Yapura) revolves around a small town’s movie theater on its last night of business. The venue is...
