The Southern Bridge that connects the nether end of tony Palm Beach Island to the mainland city of West Palm Beach was once a calm overpass where people strolled alongside Bentleys over the Intracoastal Waterway. But since Donald Trump’s victory in November’s presidential election, news crews have amassed on the West Palm side, while tourists are huddled on a small island adjacent to the bridge, iPhone cameras fully zoomed in and aimed at Mar-a-Lago, which sits just yards away.

The datamining leak from last month turned out to be true. NetherRealm Studios head Ed Boon officially announced during MK1‘s Sdcc panel that the upcoming Khaos Reigns Dlc for Mortal Kombat 1 will bring in guest characters Ghostface, Conan the Barbarian and the T-1000. Along with the three guest characters, Sektor, Cyrax and Noob Saibot will also be part of the Khaos Reigns Dlc. IGN broke the news, along with showing off the lineup of characters. Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is set to release digitally on September 24. Pre-orders are open now.
After repelling the invaders who endangered Fire God Liu Kang’s New Era of peace, Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns expands the story campaign with an all-new cinematic narrative. After the alleged references indicating that Ghostface would be coming to Mortal Kombat 1, the same dataminer who discovered the sound files has found more indicating that not only is Ghostface planned for MK1, but also Conan the Barbarian and the T-1000!
Per IGN, Dataminer Interloko (who also posted a video showing their findings) has uncovered files in the game that detail six upcoming characters, five new announcers, and two new arenas. Alongside Cyrax, Sektor and Noob Saibot, evidence points to Ghostface, Conan and the T-1000 as guest fighters.
The addition of T-1000 actually falls in line with a leak last year where Reptile’s actor Andrew Morgado dropped news that Robert Patrick was recording lines for the T-1000.
Once again, the addition of Ghostface for Mortal Kombat 1 would fall in line with Ed Boon‘s tease last October. And Conan the Barbarian and T-1000 would follow the Terminator and Rambo...

This post contains spoilers for "The Boys."
There's a reason why "The Boys" keeps Antony Starr's Homelander around while crafting some of its most significant and compelling storylines. One of the most unpredictably dangerous Supes manufactured by Vought, Homelander's presence provides impetus to the titular "Boys" to keep playing such a rigged game, as killing the milk-drinking Supe is a part of the show's endgame. Starr has elevated Homelander into a figure mired in complexities; he imparts the character with a singular brand of desperation-fueled evil that only becomes more twisted with each passing season. Starr's turn as Homelander cements the character's idiosyncratic presence within the "Boys" universe, where almost every iteration of the Supe benefits from the actor's remarkably layered and scene-stealing performance.
Keeping this in mind, it is no surprise that Starr voiced Homelander both in the animated anthology series "The Boys Presents: Diabolical" and the "Call of Duty" games,...

Mortal Kombat 1 may have issues, but its ability to bring together strong individuals from various franchises makes it stand out in the fighting genre. From Invincible‘s Omni-Man to The Suicide Squad‘s Peacemaker, the latest NetherRealm title’s had no shortage of excellent guest characters, and the developer has shared a first look at another supervillain who will be making his Mortal Kombat debut soon.
The absence of Antony Starr’s voice is glaring, but everything else looks faithful to what Homelander’s all about, including drinking milk in a disturbing way.
Mortal Kombat 1 Shares the First Look for Homelander
How else can one get the required nutrition for brutal fights in Mortal Kombat 1?
After Prime Video shared the trailer for the fourth season of The Boys, Mortal Kombat 1 got on the hype train and unleashed its first look at the unhinged supervillain from the show joining the game.

London, July 5 (Ians) Meta (formerly Facebook) will reportedly not launch its new Twitter competitor “Threads” in Ireland or the European Union (EU) in the foreseeable future.
According to Ireland’s Data Protection Commission (Dpc) spokesperson, the regulator had been in contact about the new service and that it would not be rolled out in the EU “at this point”, reports Independent.ie.
Threads is expected to launch on Thursday in the US and UK as an alternative to Twitter.
The new platform is designed to import data from Instagram, including behavioural and advertising information.
In its US format, the platform informs users that it will collect a wide range of information about them, including health information, financial information, browsing histories, location, purchases, contacts, search history and sensitive information.
However, in the EU format, the Irish regulator has prevented Meta from launching advertising services on WhatsApp that use data from Facebook or Instagram.

The new standalone app will be based on Instagram and integrate with ‘ActivityPub’, the decentralised social media protocol,Athe report noted.
The project was first named Project 92. Now, it is also known as ‘Threads’ and Meta employees were recently shown a preview of the app, which will be based on Instagram.

San Francisco, Jan 30 (Ians) After sacking 11,000 employees in November last year, Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has now reportedly put middle managers at the company on notice.
According to the newsletter Command Line by The Verge’s Alex Heath, Zuckerberg warned managers at a recent all-hands meeting.
“I don’t think you want a management structure that’s just managers managing managers, managing managers, managing managers, managing the people who are doing the work,” the Meta CEO apparently told them.
The statement appears to be indicating that the company, which will make its quarterly results public this week, may sack more employees.

Batman was enjoying a renaissance as the 1970s dawned. Freed from its ties to the ABC series, editor Julius Schwartz worked with writers Frank Robins and Denny O’Neil on rejuvenating the Darknight Detective, returning him closer to his pulp-roots.
In short order, O’Neil would rise to become the premier Batman scribe of the era to be followed by a notable stretch as his editor from 1986 through the early 2000s. His impact is immeasurable. On the side, though, he aspired to be a prose writer as well and among his works from that period was a collaboration with cartoonist Jim Berry on the 1974 novel Kung Fu Master, Richard Dragon: Dragon’s Fists (1974) under the pseudonym “Jim Dennis.”

The years spent by Bruce Wayne training to become a crimefighter are some of the most fascinating in the Batman mythos, and have been explored in multiple ways across various mediums. A new DC animated feature, Batman: Soul of the Dragon now offers the intriguing prospect of a 1970s-set story wherein a young Bruce embarks on the path to martial arts mastery. We recently received the trailer and first clip from the film, and now have an introduction to Richard Dragon, one of the main characters from the Bruce Timm-produced movie.
In the video, which you can catch above, voice actor Mark Dacascos describes how we meet Dragon in the 1970s as a super spy who trained with Bruce alongside master O-Sensei. We then see Dragon in training, and being pointed out by O-Sensei to Bruce, foreshadowing the partnership between the two depicted in the recent trailer. At this point,...

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-ky) introduced a bill that ties $2,000-per-person Covid-19 relief checks to a repeal of Section 230, the provision of a 1996 law that protects social media platforms from liability for the way that they moderate third party content.
In doing so, McConnell has likely added a “poison pill” to the effort to increase the Covid-19 relief payments from the current $600.
Increasing numbers of Republicans have joined with Democrats in support of the $2,000 checks, after President Donald Trump called for them to be increased, putting McConnell on the spot to take some sort of action in the next week.
But by tying the payments to another Trump priority — the repeal of Section 230 — McConnell is likely making the package unsuitable to a number of Democrats in the Senate and the House. Although politicians of both parties have expressed a desire to modify Section 230, it’s a whole other matter to repeal it entirely.

The National Rifle Association is accusing its former top lobbyist of fleecing the organization of more than $1 million from 2015 to 2019. The allegation that Chris Cox benefited from extravagant, unauthorized expenses that were charged to the nonprofit appears in a tax document filed by the NRA in November and provided to Rolling Stone by the organization. Through his lawyer, Cox disputed the allegations.
Until his ouster last year, Cox ran the NRA’s political arm, the Institute for Legislative Action, with a salary of $1.5 million. Cox was forced from this post...

National Rifle Association CEO Wayne Lapierre has returned nearly $300,000 to the gun group, in repayment of illicit personal gains, according to an explosive report in the Washington Post. The Post details new tax filings, obtained from the NRA, in which the gun group reportedly admits to a “significant diversion of its assets” — including in the form of “excess benefits” paid out to Lapierre and a handful of other officers. According to the Post, that term is used by the IRS “to describe executives’ enriching themselves at the expense of a nonprofit.

Facebook chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg reiterated his call for governments to step in with new regulations governing internet platforms, saying in an ABC News interview that his company needs laws regulating political speech.
“We need new rules,” Zuckerberg said. He was interviewed by ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos at Facebook’s Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters. The interview, recorded Wednesday, aired on “Good Morning America” Thursday morning.
“The current laws around what is political advertising don’t consider discussion issues to be political,” Zuckerberg said, referring to attempts by Russia and others to disrupt elections with misinformation campaigns on social media. “It’s not clear to me that we want a private company to be making that kind of a fundamental decision about what is political speech and how should that be regulated. That seems like something there should be a more democratic process around.”

Facebook’s time of transition, a seemingly unending phase since last year’s Cambridge Analytica scandal segued to a host of other corporate issues, is continuing with the exits of product chief Chris Cox and WhatsApp head Chris Daniels.
Will Cathcart will take the place of Daniels at WhatsApp. Fidji Simo will be the new head of the Facebook app, the company said. Cox, who has been considered a close confidant of founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, will not be replaced. Instead, reflecting the “family of apps” product management structure, Simo at Facebook, Adam Mosseri at Instagram, Stan Chudnovsky at Messenger and Will Cathcart at WhatsApp will report directly to Zuckerberg. Chief Marketing Officer Antonio Lucio will report directly to COO Sheryl Sandberg.
Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who earlier this month announced plans to shift the social media giant toward private messaging and communications, announced the reshuffling in a lengthy memo to employees.

Facebook has turned to marketing pro Antonio Lucio to lead its communications strategy after a series of brand-tarnishing episodes.
Most recently, Lucio was Hp’s chief marketing and communications officer and previously was Visa’s global Cmo. At Facebook, he reports to chief product officer Chris Cox, with an official start date of Sept. 4. Lucio replaces Gary Briggs, who stepped down as the social giant’s chief marketing officer in January 2018, saying he would consult for companies and Democratic candidates.
Cox, in a Facebook post Thursday (Aug. 23) announcing the hire, praised Lucio’s “extraordinary reputation in the industry as a leader, a marketer, an operator, and a wise, gracious, and deeply principled human being.”
Lucio comes on board as Facebook continues to deal with the fallout from the Cambridge Analytica scandal that erupted earlier this year, which involved the political consulting firm’s illicit capture of data on millions of users.

Facebook underwent a major corporate reorganization Tuesday, shuffling the executive leadership of key apps including WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram, and launching a new team dedicated to Blockchain innovation. The reorganization was first reported by Recode, and has since been partially confirmed by one of the Facebook executives involved.
As part of the reorg, Facebook is reportedly structuring its company under three pillars: Apps, product services and new platforms & infrastructure. Apps, which includes both Facebook’s main app as well as WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, is being led by the company’s chief product officer Chris Cox.
In that group, responsibilities have also shifted. Former Internet.org VP Chris Daniels is taking over the leadership of WhatsApp. Stan Chudnovsky, who until now headed Messenger product development, will now lead the entire Messenger team. And Adam Mosseri, who previously led the development of newsfeed, will now be in charge of product for Instagram.
