X-Men ’97 was a treat for every Marvel fan. The show has successfully recreated the nostalgia, thanks to Marvel boss Kevin Feige who insisted the show must bring the original cast of Fox show, X-Men: The Animated Series. It makes sense as X-Men ‘97 was the continuation of the classic animated show in the ’90s.

Lenore Zann who played Anna Marie a.k.a. Rogue in both the series alongside Cal Dodd’s Wolverine revealed that they had to go through the audition process again despite their almost confirmed reprisal of their roles. Fan-favorite Gambit actor A.J. LoCascio also joined Zann and Dodd in the process.

The most rudimentary research into the creative origins of the groundbreaking 1977 sci-fi flick "Star Wars" will reveal to the reader that creator George Lucas was inspired by "Flash Gordon" serials from the 1930s, as well as Akira Kurosawa's 1958 epic "The Hidden Fortress." Kurosawa's film famously opened with two clownish characters (Kamatari Fujiwara and Minoru Chiaki) who aimed to earn their fortune as samurai. After several misadventures, the peasants unwittingly become embroiled in a much larger plot about a missing princess (Misa Uehara), a war, and a brave protective warrior (Toshiro Mifune). "Star Wars" borrowed that film's structure, introducing audiences to its sci-fi action through the eyes (lenses?) of the robotic characters C-3Po (Anthony Daniels) and the non-humanoid R2-D2.
C-3Po was a prissy, fastidious droid who seemed impatient with the foibles of the organic beings he lived with, and was frequently panicked and afraid. The only time...

Dmz creator Roberto Patino is moving to Netflix.
The writer and producer has closed an overall deal with the streamer and has established his own production banner, Analog Inc., in partnership with the company. He previously signed an overall deal with Warner Bros. TV in 2018.
Patino has also set his first project under the multi-year deal – writing a series adaptation of Image Comics’ Nocterra.
He will write, exec produce and serve as showrunner on the project, which is in the early stages of development, with James Wan’s production company Atomic Monster.
Nocterra is a sci-fi adventure telling the story of Val Riggs, a ‘Ferryman’ who relays people and goods through a world enveloped by a lasting darkness that turns the living into monstrous creatures called shades.
Scott Snyder and Tony Daniels, who created Nocterra, revealed in September that they had struck a deal with Netflix to develop a TV...

For those of you who grew up watching the classic ‘90s X-Men animated series, I‘ve got a video here that you’re going to enjoy. The video features several members of the original voice cast reuniting to share and discuss their experiences working on the series.
The cast members that showed up include George Buza (Beast), Lenore Zann (Rogue), Cal Dodd (Wolverine), and Tony Daniels (Gambit), and it’s so cool when they break out their character voices!
The series introduced a lot of kids to the X-Men, and it’s one of the early shows that helped pave the way for the growth of comic book and superhero fandom. It’s because of shows like this that being a geek is popular.
The panel took place at Hill Country Comic Con, and you can watch it below.

F Troop's Commander of Fort Courage Ken Berry was given his first assignment by Mr. Spock when he was a lowly sergeant.
Ken Berry, best known for his role as Captain Wilton Parmenter on the TV comedy series F Troop, died Saturday at age 85, according to Variety.
“Dear friends. We are sad to let you know our beloved Captain, Mr Ken Berry passed away tonight,” Larry Storch, who played F Troop's Corporal Agarn, wrote to Facebook. “We just spoke with Jackie Joseph who confirmed the devastating news. We are at a true loss for words. Ken, we hope you know how much you were loved. Goodnight Captain. We miss you already.”

Comic Book Reviews: DC Comics Round Up Week 10/12/2016
A little late this time around, but never forgotten! This week I take a quick look at the developing stories from DC’s Rebirth line up. While not a huge week for story development, we do get to wrap up a few plots and open the doors to a few more!
Action Comics #965
Story: Dan Jurgens Art: Stephen Segovia, Art Thibert, Arif Prianto, Dave Sharpe
Review: So with Superman seemingly unable to prove anything nefarious about this new Clark Kent, it’s up to Lois to try to figure out what’s going on! To do that she pretends to the Lois Lane of New 52 Universe, and as expected things don’t go completely as planned. Jurgens continues to do an excellent job here with how he handles the characters. Everyone feels right, in that their motivations, manner of speech and actions...

DC Comics brings us a rebirthed Trinity story line starring the big three of the DC Universe-Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman! Although this will be unlike any other “meeting” story between these icons that we’ve seen before. This week also brings us a few stellar books in the Rebirth line up along with solo Raven series (for all you Teen Titans fans).

Recently I put up an article here on Lrm about getting into Batman for new or casual readers (and to an extent, some of the more regular comic book readers out there). I broke it down to three good jumping on points, of which Tom King’s "Batman: Rebirth #1" was used. Now with some of the "Rebirth" books getting near issue six, I can say almost (Almost, not All!) all of the official "Rebirth" books have been an excellent introduction to the series for new readers. On that front, DC has been hugely successful (and the sales numbers are showing it). While continuity is still a bit funky, and events within titles don’t really seem to match up in a macro sense, each individual series has been a blast to read. While I am still reading Marvel books,...

Comic Book Reviews: DC Round Up Week 08-17-2016
DC Comics has been killing it with sales lately, and for good reason! The Rebirth has been a success with almost every series delivering well-written and illustrated stories. Whatever editorial direction Geoff Johns put the company on, it’s worked! The characters feel fresh and new again, while still keeping true to the status quo set up in the New 52 Universe. Could the books do a slightly better job at feeling more “interconnected” (No that doesn’t mean crossover!)? Sure! But regardless, each individual series feels very well put together and on a focused plot. So without further delay, check out the hot books from this week’s DC Comics Rebirth line up!

Bryan Hitch's Justice League Rebirth was released to DC Comics readers today and if you're thinking the choice of an original villains is a one-off occurrence, think again. Hitch stated that he and artist Tony Daniels plan on utilizing original villains as the main-baddies for their entire run on the series. It was an idea Hitch first had while he was writing and drawing Justice League of America. "Rebirth for me, is something of a mission statement. We've all read Justice League comics - and I [wrote] Justice League of America, as well. It was important to reset the ground rules and say, 'This is who the team is, this is how they work, this is the kind of stuff they're going to have to deal with.' I also wanted to [use the issue] to start some slightly different relationships with the team. Rebirth is just a hint of that. " "They're all...

The thing to remember about Scott Snyder is that he is not a superhero writer. For all of the Batman comics that he writes, he’s a horror writer, applying his trade more obviously to Wytches and American Vampire. Those titles are built on their dark mood and atmosphere. Rafael Albuquerque and Jock are two artists that Snyder has repeatedly worked with who can illuminate the darkness of the world. Snyder does that with his writing as well. American Vampire has been a secret history of the United States, revealing an unseen horrific presence behind familiar events and places. Wytches does something similar but on a much smaller and more personal level. While Snyder has also tried to do the of superhero story in Superman Unchained, a fine but underwhelming miniseries with Jim Lee, his natural element is horror.

Actor Mark Hamill aka 'Luke Skywalker' in director Jj Abrams' currently filming "Star Wars: Episode VII", says "Star Wars" creator George Lucas "...always liked the idea of seeing the original characters as 'elderly' characters..."
"In my mind, there was a beginning, and a middle and an end for me and my association with George’s trilogy," said Hamill.
"It was firmly in the past. When the prequels came out, I watched from a distance, but I was totally fine."
"I hadn’t seen Tony Daniels or Carrie or Harrison or Peter Mayhew in ages...it was wonderful to see them again, because I didn't expect to. Again, this is all so unexpected. It’s like getting out that pair of pants you haven’t worn in five years and finding a 20-dollar bill in the pocket. Oh, this is nice."

Star Wars Episode VII star Mark Hamill has urged fans to avoid spoilers on the internet.
The actor - who will reprise the role of Luke Skywalker in the forthcoming picture - said that "the goal is to keep the surprises for the movie".
He admitted to the Orlando Sentinel that Episode VII is being released in a "whole different world" to the original trilogy, where spoilers are increasingly hard to avoid.
"The first one, no-one cared," he said. "The second one there was a lot of interest, but it was before the internet.
"I tell people we're not trying to annoy you or tease you or play some massive game. Basically what the goal is is to keep the surprises for the movie instead of spoiling them on the internet."
Hamill has reunited with former castmates Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Peter Mayhew for the new film.

1. Prince Michael Jackson is New Et Correspondent

Michael Jackson's 16-year-old son impressed Oz the Great and Powerful stars James Franco and Zach Braff as well as director Sam Raimi with his confidence and competence on his first assignment.
"You're doing awesome," Braff gushed. "You're a natural."
Prince Michael returned the compliment, praising their work in the fantasy flick and getting Franco to shed some light on how he approached playing the lead role of Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics.
"I saw that his particular transformation would allow for comedy," Franco explained. "Because he's a conman -- that would get him into a lot of awkward situations that could be played for comedy."

When it comes to the future of the Star Wars franchise, overheated Internet rumors outnumber solid news stories by a considerable margin. As Yoda would say, “Difficult to see. Last week, Latino Review “broke the news” that Harrison Ford is about to sign a deal to return to the role of Han Solo. However neither Lucasfilm nor the actor himself came out and confirmed this story; and the movie site failed to release their source for the story. It isn’t until now though that we have had one of them speak so candidly about the upcoming films. While making the rounds for his upcoming film Sushi Girl released by Magnet and Magnolia Pictures, Mark Hamill spoke to Entertainment Tonight and gave some info about his...

Hello all! Welcome back to my little corner of the Internet. A place I’d like to think you’ve come to like. See what I’ve been doing with the place? I got the wet bar over there in the corner, next to the classic 1996 arcade machine Alien Vs. Predator. I put in those stadium style leather recliners in front of the 60” HD with Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii, in case you want to go faux-bowling. What’s that you said? You want to enjoy some tunage? Let me turn up the 5.1 surround sound, and blast a little Guster. We’ll take it all the way back to Goldfly. Mmmm, yeah, that’s the stuff.
Ok, now that you’re all comfy and cozy, let’s chat a little, shall we? I want to address something that’s been nagging me now for a few months. It seems a few...
