Has a dorm building at Georgia Tech named after him.

He was awarded a degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech, but was given the degree under the direction that he "never become one and show the world how wrong I was" by the Dean. His father, Y. Frank Freeman, went on to head Paramount Studios, where he earned the nickname "God".

While at Paramount, his father, Y. Frank Freeman walked his pet dogs on the lot and often bragged about his Coca-Cola stock. He reportedly inspired some of the material Billy Wilder later wrote into the film One, Two, Three (1961).

The son of Y. Frank Freeman, the former head of Paramount Pictures who won the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1956.
