Dawn Garcia is an LA born and bred Hispanic Latina, award-winning writer and print editor. She began working in the entertainment industry in the 1990s. She started out as a highly trained Makeup and Special Effects Artist, inevitably making the transition to heed the call to write.
She was raised in a very conservative family, which was the opposite of who she was, and inevitably became the driving force for pushing boundaries, challenging the status quo, and devoting her life to the fight for equality and social justice.
She has worked in various stages of production, launched 7 successful lifestyle/culture magazines, and has published over 2500 articles. When it comes to film and television, her strengths lie in empathetic story lines, descriptors and dialogue - both natural and raw - and while diffused with humor, inevitably she hopes to show the thread that connects us all.
She is developing an original comedy TV Series for hire with MGM Studios/Gato Grande Productions.
She is a mother, an activist, lover of life and has dedicated her career to championing equality, supporting women in the industry, and making sure diverse voices continue to be well-represented.
