That's a wrap for Cee Lo Green on The Voice, as his third and final contestant was sent home last night in as many weeks of viewer voting.
After circling the drain but being instantly saved by America last week, Caroline Pennell could no longer escape her fate. Apparently the17-year-old drab-to-fab starlet's rendition of Florence and the Machine's "Dog Days Are Over" didn't impress viewers. And neither did Ray Boudreaux from Blake Shelton's team, who also got eliminated.

In a 10-year, multi-platform agreement, One Three Media will distribute the show globally across all platforms. It airs next year on TBS and follows Green as he tackles his packed schedule of producing, recording and performing, and also looks at the creative partnership with his longtime best friends — Big Gipp, Khujo and T-Mo — as they prepare to revive their iconic hip-hop group Goodie Mob. As fans anticipate the release of Goodie Mob’s first joint album since 1999’s “World Party” later this month, many are also questioning the motive behind the group’s 14-year hiatus.
Yesterday (August 6), during an appearance on HuffPost Live, the hip hop quartet -- consisting of CeeLo Green, Big Gipp, Khujo and T-Mo -- talked about their latest “milestone achievement,” recording “Age Against the Machine.” Furthermore, they apologized to fans for the long wait.
“What can I say, we had 14 year hiatus. But we all had individual success, here and there,” Green admitted. “I’ve gone on to do a couple different things... But what we’re doing is kind of bringing it all back home. And I’m sorry that it’s taken this long. We didn’t mean to be as preoccupied as we ended up being.”

Goodie Mob is back with a new single.
The Southern hip-hop group released "Special Education" on Tuesday, a collaboration with Janelle Monáe. The 27-year-old singer takes the hook for the track, lending her vocals to the Atlanta vibe Goodie Mob is known for -- take a listen above.
Cee-Lo's distinctive voice can be heard halfway through the track, rapping "Scientists stood around in silence as I was being born / was I quote unquote special, or was there something wrong? / My skin was black, my heart was gold, and my tongue was silver / and the fact that I could talk already, that was a thriller."
Made up of rappers Cee-Lo, Big Gipp, Khujo, and T-Mo, Goodie Mob will be releasing a new album on August 27, Cee-Lo announced this week. The forthcoming "Age Against the Machine" album will be the group's first studio album with all four members since 1999 when "World Party" hit stores.

Goodie Mob defined hip-hop's dirty south sound before such a descriptor even existed, mixing uplifting raps with bass-heavy funk. Although fans were excited to see Cee-Lo Green and Goodie Mob back together, the true star of the set was Jean Sok, a one-legged dancer from Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour. Back before Cee-Lo graced the cover of this very magazine, way before he drove us "Crazy", there was Goodie Mob (the Good Die Mostly Over Bullshit). Cee-Lo, T-Mo, Big Gipp and Khujo, the architects of the Dungeon Family, fused soul and socially-conscious hip-hop in a way that had never been attempted. Their 1995 debut Soul Food put Atlanta (and southern) rap on the map, transforming a marginalized subgenre into a movement with clear direction and purpose. And this past Saturday (Sept. 19), nearly a decade since Cee-Lo split from the group, they assembled at Atlanta's Masquerade Music Park for their hotly-anticipated reunion show.

Atlanta — A downpour couldn't cool Atlanta's excitement for pioneering Southern hip-hop group Goodie Mob's reunion show on Saturday night, which was billed as "Remember Atlanta." Cee-Lo, Khujo, Big Gipp and T-Mo hit the stage at Masquerade Music Park for the first time as a complete unit in a decade (although the group did not formally disband until 2002).
And while Cee-Lo may have had a highly successful career both as a solo act and with the Grammy-winning duo Gnarls Barkley, each member of the group got plenty of shine.
Goodie Mob Reunite In Atlanta
The show opened with Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" — an appropriate beginning since this four-man collective has survived many rocky times over the years.

Rihanna at the Bmi awards on Thursday

New York — You know it's a going to be a good night when a big, thuggish-looking man with a scar going down half his face comes into the party singing Rihanna's chorus to "Run This Town."
Now imagine being at that same party and the DJ announces that Rihanna is actually in the building. Too crazy. Thursday night in New York City, if you weren't rehearsing for the MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall, or part of Raekwon's CD-release show at S.O.B.'s, then you had to be at the M2 Ultra Lounge.

New York — George Clinton was the night's honoree, and Lil Wayne and Kanye West were among the big winners, but Bootsy Collins undoubtedly stole the show at the 2009 Bmi Urban Music Awards on Thursday night.
The famous bass player took part in the tribute to Clinton, which also included Outkast's Big Boi and Gnarls Barkley's Cee-Lo, among others. Collins, still the showman in his late 50s, led a party chant dedicated to his former Parliament-Funkadelic bandmate over "Atomic Dog." Decked out in his trademark rhinestone-studded attire, Collins then ventured out into the crowd and, despite wearing platform shoes thicker than most phone books, began climbing over seats.
