Ford v Ferrari realistically recreates intense racing rivalry between Carroll Shelby and Enzo Ferrari in 1950s and 1960s with dramatic flair. Despite some creative liberties, movie accurately depicts Ken Miles' contributions and sacrifices in lifting Ford to prominence in racing history. Ken Miles, although tragically killed, left a lasting legacy with Ford's dominance at Le Mans and induction into Motorsports Hall of Fame.
Released in 2019 to critical acclaim, Ford v Ferrari tracks the intense racing rivalry between automakers Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and Enzo Ferrari (Remo Girone) in the 1950s and 1960s. Although a few story elements were made up to increase the dramatic stakes, the movie recreates many real-life auto races with stunning authenticity and historical accuracy. To help defeat Ferrari, Carroll forms an unlikely partnership with Ken Miles (Christian Bale), a hot-headed yet talented British car racer, mechanic, and engineer who goes to heroic lengths to lift Ford to prominence.

The cast and crew of The Equalizer 3 filmed in Italy, utilizing locations in Rome and Campania to capture the essence of the film's setting. Cinecittà Studios in Rome served as a significant filming location, offering spacious and famous film studios for certain sequences in the movie. The picturesque Amalfi Coast and Naples in Campania provided a backdrop that made it seem like the film was set in Sicily, even though the actual Sicilian scenes were shot on the other side of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
It likely serves as Denzel Washington's last outing as Robert McCall in the franchise, and The Equalizer 3 filming locations took them to Italy for the final movie. Aside from Washington, the rest of the cast included Dakota Fanning as Emma Collins, Eugenio Mastrandrea as Gio Bonucci, David Denman as Frank Conroy, Sonia Ben Ammar as Chiara Bonucci, and Remo Girone as Enzo Arisio.

Despite being marketed as the final chapter, a surprise fourth installment of The Equalizer franchise is in very early development. The success of The Equalizer 3 at the box office makes the idea of a fourth movie less surprising. Writer Richard Wenk is tasked with figuring out how the franchise can continue.
Last year’s action sequel The Equalizer 3 was marketed as the final chapter in director Antoine Fuqua and star Denzel Washington’s saga, but writer Richard Wenk, who has written all three installments in The Equalizer franchise, has now hinted that a surprise fourth movie could be on the cards. In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Wenk explained that, while he felt that the third outing was the last and provided closure, he has now been “tasked” with finding out how the franchise could continue...

The Equalizer 3 did not bring back original characters because it was always intended to have separate storylines. The focus of The Equalizer 2 was on the Dia and dangerous assassins, making it difficult to bring back characters, such as Ralphie and Alina. The addition of new characters, particularly Emma Collins-Plummer, created excitement and still maintained a connection to Robert's past associates.
Director Antoine Fuqua explains why The Equalizer 3 didn’t bring back two original movie characters. The trilogy began in 2014 when former Dia officer Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) came out of retirement to handle the Russian mafia who had trafficked a teenager. In the seemingly final installment, Robert discovers his new friends are being threatened by the Italian mafia and decides to take the criminal organization on by himself. The Equalizer 3 also stars Dakota Fanning, Eugenio Mastrandrea, David Denman, and Remo Girone.

Sony's vigilante action thriller, The Equalizer 3, has stood out as the champion at the weekend box office, by a safe distance.
With an estimated four-day collection between $42 and 43.5 million, at the Labor Day weekend, the film has jumped to the second-best ever opening for the holiday, surpassing Rob Zombie's 2007 Halloween remake, and trailing only behind the 2021 superhero film Shang-Chi, which sits safely on top with $94.6 million. The film's regular three-day earnings are estimated to be around $36 million, marking the franchise's best debut. However, both the previous films in The Equalizer trilogy had an almost identical opening, grabbing $34.1 and $35.8 million, respectively.

Denzel Washington’s “The Equalizer 3” is showing some box office virtuosity, taking flight in its domestic debut after grossing $13.1 million on opening day from 3,241 venues. That includes $3.8 million in Thursday previews, boosted by showtimes in premium large format auditoriums.
The third and ostensibly final entry in Sony’s action series is gunning for the second-highest Labor Day weekend opening in history. The holiday isn’t typically a boon for box office, though Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” set a record two years ago with a $94.6 million four-day opening. “Equalizer 3” won’t reach those heights, but it’s contending against the runner-up for the record — Rob Zombie’s “Halloween” remake, which stabbed into $30 million in 2007. After Friday, the new vigilante film, co-financed by Sony, Tsg and Eagle Pictures, is projecting a four-day opening north of $42 million.

Review: I absolutely love the Equalizer movies. It seems no one is making straight-forward action thrillers nowadays other than Antoine Fuqua, who’s become the greatest master of the genre since the late Tony Scott. His movies are taut, efficient and packed with gruesome, R-rated action. They know precisely what they are, and if this is the final Equalizer film, it perfectly closes out the only big-screen trilogy of Denzel Washington’s career.
Robert McCall is a perfect character for Denzel. At seventy years old, Washington has the right mix of righteous anger, world-weariness and kindness to do the character justice. One thing I always loved about the franchise was how...

This piece was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, the movie being reviewed here wouldn't exist. This article also contains major spoilers for "The Equalizer 3."The original 1985 TV series "The Equalizer," starring Edward Woodward, was part of a notable trend in television from the '70s and '80s. Multiple shows at the time were about dangerous, mysterious, lawless drifters who traveled from town to town seeking out justice and applying violence where it might be needed. The trend included shows like "Kung Fu," "Then Came Bronson," "The A-Team," "The Incredible Hulk," and a little later, "Renegade." Robert McCall was an ex-military man who had a talent for finding people in distress and helping them — violently — as the situation required.
In 2014, filmmaker Antoine Fuqua adapted "The Equalizer" to the big screen, casting Denzel Washington in the role of Robert McCall.

Nobody can threaten someone quietly better than Denzel Washington.
Oh, our man can pump up the volume when he needs to, in terms of letting people know he’s bringing the pain — our ears are still ringing from his “King Kong ain’t got shit on me!” taunt from Training Day. But when he lowers his voice to a basso profundo rumble and he fixes that dead-eyed stare on someone, the one that suggests the unflappable, untouchable Teflon Denzel has officially entered the building, and issues some sort of oh-you’ve-stepped-in-it-now promise of bodily harm?...

Fuqua and Washington's collaboration in The Equalizer 3 benefits from their established rapport, resulting in an entertaining movie. The final installment concludes the trilogy and provides a satisfying end to Robert McCall's character arc, with Washington delivering slick justice. While Washington's compelling performance carries the film, the story at times lacks depth and fails to fully engage the audience.

Returning for the third installment in the gritty action saga, The Equalizer 3 aims to deepen the mysterious world of Robert McCall. With Denzel Washington’s undeniable charm at its helm and Antione Fuqua’s seasoned direction, the film promises a continuation of its intense street-justice narrative. Yet, does it deliver the high-octane thrills we’ve come to expect, or does it falter under the weight of its own legacy? In addition to Washington, the film also stars Dakota Fanning, Eugenio Mastrandrea, Andrea Scarduzio, and Remo Girone. Richard Wenk returns as screenwriter.

To enjoy the (allegedly) final entry in Antoine Fuqua’s “The Equalizer” trilogy, it’s not at all crucial to understand the particulars of how former Marine and intelligence operative Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) lands in Italy for this latest outing. It’s safe to assume the vigilante is there to kick some bad-dude butt, with more convoluted revelations to come. Wherever Robert McCall lands, even a luxurious private winery, there are villains afoot for him to kill off in the most gruesome manners, details be damned.
And “The Equalizer 3” opens with Robert skulking around said winery, offing dark-clad mercenary types, and apparently setting right some sort of horrible injustice. As we might expect, he gets much more than he bargained for — and so will fans of Fuqua’s brutal action series, which closes out in fine style.

Carnage in Sicily: A winery overturned, its workers bloodied and brutalized lying dead on the floor. It’s hard to tell if it’s Merlot or viscera pouring across the pricy marble. The vineyard’s owner snakes wends his way through the carnage, down the stone stairs to the basement, where one man sits waiting for him. This is Robert McCall (Denzel Washington), and he’s got a bone to pick. He sets his watch, he does his job, and he leaves the property in a mess of bodies.

In Antoine Fuqua's 2018 film "The Equalizer 2," Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) spent just as much time engaging in civic rebuilding activities as he did slashing criminal throats. He scrubbed graffiti off of the walls of his Boston tenement, read Proust, and handed a reading list -- including Ta-Nehisii Coates' "Between the World and Me" and W.E.B. DuBois' "The Souls of Black Folk" -- to a neighboring at-risk teen (Ashton Sanders from "Moonlight"). It was a film just as much about righteous indignation as it was about kicking ass and cathartic murder. It was an action film for the Trump era, depicting a strictly moral assassin attacking wealthy white frat bros (one gets his neck cut open by the sharpened edge of his own credit card).

"Because of these people, I'm beginning to understand real peace... I believe this is where I'm supposed to be." Sounds good - I think we all feel like we're "supposed to be" settling down somewhere nice in Italy. Denzel Washington is stepping into some familiar shoes for his new project. The 68-year-old reprises his role as the justice-driven Robert McCall for “The Equalizer 3”, the final entry in the film adaptation of the ’80s television series of the same name.
“The Equalizer” films star Washington as a retired U.S. Marine and former Dia officer, whose desire to dole out justice in his own way and help those being oppressed often pulls him back into dangerous missions. The first premiered in theaters in 2014 and the second in 2018.
“It’s unfinished business,” Washington tells Et when asked what inspired his return to the film series at 2023’s CinemaCon. “You know, the doormen in my building in New York, they love this guy. I talk to them about other films [and] they’re like, ‘Oh yeah, ‘Fences’, yeah, good movie. But when is the next [‘Equalizer’?]’ I’m like, ‘Why do you love him?...

In between doling out Oscar-worthy performances and making Shakespearean monologues feel like something you haven't heard a thousand times before, Denzel Washington has spent the past two decades cracking skulls and taking names, going back to at least "Man on Fire." In fact, he's been doing it so long, his co-star in Tony Scott's sublime 2004 action-thriller, Dakota Fanning, had the chance to go off and grow up into a fully-fledged adult actor. That noise you just heard was the sound of millions of Millennials popping the vertebrae in their backs as they abruptly jerked upright, crying out in terror.

My Name Is Vendetta (Il mio nome è vendetta) is a thriller movie directed by Cosimo Gomez starring Alessandro Gassman and Remo Girone.
A film with a classic premise that develops in a coherent way, and in which Alessandro Gassman takes on a role that is reminiscent of a Liam Neeson character, although slightly darker in temperament.
Premise
After old enemies kill his family, a former mafia enforcer and his feisty daughter flee to Milan, where they hide out while plotting their revenge.

"He's not the kind of man who runs away." Netflix has revealed an official trailer for an Italian film titled My Name is Vendetta, arriving for streaming at the end of November. This pretty much looks like Italy's version of Taken or John Wick, about a father who is apparently a former enforcer and never told his family – until they're killed. A fast-paced action, survival and revenge film set in Northern Italy in a quiet town in Südtirol. When enemies from the past kill his wife and brother-in-law, the mafia enforcer and his daughter flee to Milan to plot their revenge. Starring Alessandro Gassmann and Ginevra Francesconi as the father and daughter, Santo and Sofia, who train together to take down the people who came after them. The cast also includes Remo Girone, Gabriele Falsetta, Alessio Praticò, Marcello Mazzarella, & Sinja Dieks. This looks like a very generic revenge story, but...
