One Days of Our Lives star has made history with her 5,000th episode. The soap opera, which began airing in 1965, is one of the longest-running scripted programs in television history. Although its characters and storylines have expanded and contracted over the years, it has largely focused on the interpersonal dramas of the Brady and Horton families in the fictional town of Salem, Illinois.

As reported by Deadline, star Deidre Hall just celebrated her 5,000th episode on May 12 with a storyline where her character Dr. Marlena Evans celebrated helping 5,000 patients. The actor has been the longest-running cast member of Days of Our Lives for quite some time, with second place going to Kristian Alfonso as Hope Brady (who was played as a young woman by That '70s Show star Mila Kunis) trailing behind Hall with over 4,000 episodes. However, this achievement also makes Hall the longest-running actor in soap opera history.

The Biden/Harris Presidential Inaugural Committee announced additional programming in advance of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on January 20. The theme of the now five consecutive nights of events is “America United.”

On Saturday, January 16 is America United: An Inauguration Welcome Event Celebrating America’s Changemakers. The event will “celebrate America, reflect and honor our history, and highlight the incredible diversity of the nation” and kick off the five days of programming.

Whoopi Goldberg, actor Nik Dodani, comedienne and actress Cristela Alonzo, musician Darren Criss, Representative Grace Meng, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Resistance Revival Choir will participate. The Welcome Event will feature a special performance by the Grammy-nominated Black Pumas. It will stream live from 7:00-8:30 Pm Et at bideninaugural.org and on Presidential Inaugural Committee social media pages.

Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez are set to perform at the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Jan. 20, the Presidential Inaugural Committee confirmed on Wednesday. Gaga, who campaigned for Biden and Harris back in November, will sing the national anthem, and Lopez will stage an additional performance. Gaga reacted to the news on Twitter, writing, "I am deeply honored to be joining @BidenInaugural on January 20 to sing the National Anthem and celebrate the historic inauguration of @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris!
