From 1913 he realised many movies as a director and from 1914 he also wrote most of the screenplays for his movies.
When the Theater am Nollendorfplatz shut down because of financial reasons Alfred Halm dedicated to the film business.
The director and writer Alfred Halm made first experiences as an actor at the theater. He played in many smaller cities and finally reached Berlin.
When he retired in 1926 as a movie director he began to write screenplays for movies.
