Grooving out with Roger Rabbit isn’t the first thing I would think of when this movie comes to mind. In fact the first thing that comes to mind isn’t even Jessica Rabbit, it’s the scene in which Eddie Valiant is making the weasels laugh loud and long enough to knock them dead. But the groove for this video is somehow kind of pleasing despite the fact that it’s largely based around the kissing noise that Jessica makes when she blows Eddie a wet one right in front of Dolores. Dabbling in watercolors Eddie? This is the kind of film that

An odd couple comedy pairing a silly cartoon animal with a cranky, grizzled detective will always call to mind “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?,” the 1988 comedy directed by Robert Zemeckis. From its first trailer, “Happy!” riffs on the comedy classic, updating it with a breakneck pace and black humor that would make even Jessica Rabbit blush. In 2017, that’s a promising look for this new series from the Syfy channel, which casts comedy heavyweights Patton Oswalt and Christopher Meloni (who proved his comedy chops on “Wet Hot American Summer”) as its unusual pair.
Adapted from the graphic novel of the same name by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson, “Happy!” follows Nick Sax (Meloni), “an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man – who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue...

I just want to thank Eclectic Method for making me realize that I was making a big mistake in having the hots for Jessica Rabbit in my youth. That video made me painfully aware of that bad hairline and now it's a lot more obvious to me why she's with Roger Rabbit.

For an actress who has made a career out of acclaimed off-Broadway plays and parts on prestige TV shows such as Nurse Jackie, Masters of Sex and, more recently, American Gods, Starz’s stylized adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s cult novel, it comes as a surprise to see Betty Gilpin rocking spandex, glittery eye shadow and at least half a can of Aqua Net on Netflix’s female wrestling dramedy Glow. In person, however, the self-described “theater geek” is decidedly less glamorous. “I have toothpaste on my face right now,” deadpans Gilpin, speaking to Et by phone from her Brooklyn apartment.
Last year was perhaps the busiest of Gilpin’s life, considering that she not only landed parts on two of the most talked-about new TV series, she also got married to Cosmo Pfeil, a former actor who now works at a nonprofit. (Ironically, the couple met while playing siblings in the 2009 movie The Northern Kingdom.) “While...

Hanky codes. Septum piercings. A knowing glance. Since we’ve been around (at least as far back as ancient Greece), queer people have learned to read between the lines to find kindred spirits out in the world — and onscreen. While straight cinephiles scratched their heads at the recent claim that Jennifer Kent’s “The Babadook” is a queer icon, Lgbt audiences were unsurprised: We have always known how to make our own fun.

For those of us residing in the new micro-generation that’s recently been unearthed Roger Rabbit is a nod back to the good old days of our youth when cartoons didn’t need to make a lot of sense or have any well-established morals to be funny. It was the type of Looney Tunes drop-a-fridge-on-their-heads humor that made Who Framed Roger Rabbit so great. Plus the overall darker nature of the film and the fact that it served as many young men’s fantasies when discussing Jessica Rabbit is subject that the more wholesome Disney vibe isn’t into so much these days. Welcome to another installment of Movies to Show My Son. This is the blog series were I discuss movies I can’t wait to show my son in the future. I’ll be covering my own personal experience with the movie, movie and life lessons I hope he will learn, and lastly my concerns about showing said film. This week’s film is Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
My Memory:
What surprised me about my memories of Who Framed Roger Rabbit is how I do not have many of them. As someone who was born in 1984 I was the right age for It, but for whatever reason, it was not one of those showcase films I watched as a child. Part of me thinks it was because my parents did not allow me to watch it, and after rewatching it recently I could understand why.
There are some moments that do stick out.

Robert Zemeckis has been talking about making a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit? for years. It's something that he wants to do, and it's something that fans would love to see, but in a recent interview with The Telegraph, he explains why it probably isn't going to happen.
Zemeckis says that the script for the film is “magnificent,” and says that it's “more a continuation than a sequel.” According to the filmmaker, the story follows Roger and Jessica Rabbit “into the next few years of period film, moving on from film noir to the world of the 1950s.” The sequel also included the ghost of Eddie Valiant, who was wonderfully portrayed by the late Bob Hoskins in the original film. The plan was to use a CGI digital version of Hoskins.
So why isn't this movie happening!? Because Disney controls the property, and Zemeckis says that “the current corporate...

Either way, it's an unwritten rule that if you're going to dress up you're going to have to drop some cash. Even if you initially set out to be thrifty, you're not going to be able to say no to that red dress that looks just like Heidi Klum's rendition of Jessica Rabbit (for example). So, if you're going to burn a hole in your pocket, it might as well be something that not only nails the look on Halloween night, but is also stylish enough that you'll want to wear it again and again. For a list of Halloween costumes you won't mind spending a pretty penny on, keep clicking!

Does Willy Fog float your boat? Squidward ring your bell? Den Of Geek's hard-hitting journalistic investigation into cartoon chaps...
If you ask a guy 'Which cartoon character would you have sex with?' the answer is pretty much always 'Jessica Rabbit'. Occasionally they'll throw in 'Betty Rubble' as well, just to keep things interesting, but there are few straight men on the planet that wouldn't sell their soul just to have a sniff of Jessica's bra.
Straight women, however, don't really have that option. We don't have a staple go-to cartoon character for conversations like these. This must be why we just talk about shoes and commitment all the time.
To rectify this oversight, I've put together a list of potential cartoon gentsfor your perusal. Please note that I don't personally fancy any of these guys; that would be strange and wrong. Although if I'm pushed, we...

Jessica Rabbit kidnapped by Nazis. Costner rescuing Princess Diana. We look back at a few strange movie sequels that were never made…
The multi-million dollar success of any movie will inevitably leave Hollywood executives clamouring for a sequel. And while there are plenty of movies whose stories are open-ended enough to warrant a return to the creative well, there are many times when coming up with a follow-up idea requires all sorts of imaginative leaps. Just look at something like Alien: Resurrection, which had to come up an elaborate reason why Ripley had (spoiler alert) managed to survive a swan-dive into a lead foundry in Alien 3.
Which brings us to this list, which is devoted to a few of the weirder sequel ideas that never made it to the big screen. An E.T. sequel in which little Elliott gets tortured by aliens? Forrest Gump dancing with Princess Diana?...

The Little Black Dress—From Mourning to Night is a free exhibit currently at The Missouri History Museum (Lindell and DeBaliviere in Forest Park, St. Louis, Missouri). The exhibit runs through September 5th.
The Little Black Dress – a simple, short cocktail dress—is a sartorial staple for most contemporary women. Prior to the early 20th century, simple, unadorned black garments were limited to mourning, and strict social rules regarding mourning dress were rigidly observed.Featuring over 60 dresses from the Missouri History Museum’s world-renowned textile collection, this fun yet thought-provoking exhibit explores the subject of mourning, as well as the transition of black from a symbol of grief to a symbol of high fashion. You’ll also see fascinating artifacts—from hair jewelry to tear catchers—that were once a regular part of the mourning process. Plus, you’ll have the chance to share your own memories of your favorite...

Ah, long before the days of Pixar and the anthropomorphic puppets in Wes Anderson’s “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” there was “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?,” a slightly risqué animated outing from Robert Zemeckis that follows detective Eddie Valiant as he finds himself amok in toon caper after toon caper, trying to reunite husband and wife Roger and Jessica Rabbit. Read More: Ranked: The Films Of Robert Zemeckis Now, if you call yourself a real toon fan, you must’ve already known that Roger Rabbit was based on a 1981 novel by Gary K. Wolf entitled "Who Censored Roger Rabbit?." Another look at the modernization of animation, the rights were picked up by the Disney very early on, though not much of what took place in between the pages remained for the big screen version. In their new video essay, the team at Cinefix has broken down the differences between the book and the film,...

Heidi Klum pulled off a very convincing Jessica Rabbit for Halloween, but that was just for one night – this transgender woman has paid around $200K on plastic surgery to permanently look like the cartoon character.
"I'm a cosmetic concoction," Cassandra says in a clip for the E! show, Botched.
The 37-year-old has undergone surgery for facial feminization, brow shaving, Adam's apple reductions, sexual reassignment, and on her nose, lips, cheeks, breasts, hips and butt, but she's still not done. According to the show, she now wants to have her ribs removed to make her waist just as slim as Jessica's.

Beyoncé and Jay Z partied it up in NYC on Halloween night, and they threw it back all the way to the '80s with their awesome costumes. A couple snaps from Beyoncé shows that even Blue Ivy got in on the fun as a very adorable Imani Izzi! The Knowles-Carter family's getups aren't the only throwback costumes we saw this year - Heidi Klum gave us a dose of Who Framed Roger Rabbit with a dead-on Jessica Rabbit costume, and Jessica Alba tapped into the '90s with her Romy and Michele's High School Reunion-inspired look.
