Are you a Hyper streamer or a Mainstreamer, er, streamer? According to marketing consultancy Magid and its SubScape study, one of six labels can predict your streaming-subscriptions behavior.
The study also found that not all churn (subscribers canceling a service) is created equally. As a matter of fact, “not all churn is bad,” the company concluded.
From January to October, the top 20 streaming services lost an average of 8 percent of existing subscribers each month, per SubScape. Well, guess what? They also gained 8 percent of new subscribers each month, making for a net-zero average.
What goes around comes around, and the streamers who best understand that can leverage it into “a competitive advantage,” the Magid results read. What it now calls “strategic churn” can lead to “increased market share and profitability.”

It’s the end of the road for “Ted Lasso” and AFC Richmond as it all came to life on the Apple TV+ comedy from Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, and Bill Lawrence.
Or is it?
Apple has stayed vague about whether it was the Emmy-winning series’ final outing, despite public, bittersweet sentiment from the cast and near-constant speculation since well before Season 3’s March premiere. As recently as the morning of the finale, titled “So Long, Farewell,” a publicist underscored to IndieWire that Season 3 had not been confirmed as final. Along with the episode, Apple is now streaming a six-minute, 38 second goodbye video from the cast.
Episode 312 itself ties up the season’s big questions (“arcs” is generous), with Ted (Sudeikis) on his way home, Nate (Nick Muhammed) back at Richmond, Roy (Brett Goldstein) taking over as team manager, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) meeting a man and never having problems again,...

Every great sports story needs a rival.
From iconic films like “Rocky” or even “Dodgeball” to the real-life drama of trades, drafts, and geographic enmity, the opponent is essential to the underdog athlete odyssey. “Ted Lasso”s AFC Richmond is as underdog as it gets as an English football team with a sweet but minimally-experienced American coach — but that was poised to shift in Season 3. After two seasons of “rom-communism” and soft men, Richmond’s own “wonder kid” Nate Shelley (Nick Mohammed) quit in a fit of rage and went to work for West Ham — a juggernaut team run by Richmond owner Rebecca’s (Hannah Waddingham) evil ex Rupert (Anthony Head).
Yet even with the sky-high stakes of league drama and personal history, “Ted Lasso” missed the mark in cultivating a genuinely compelling rivalry. Season 3 flounders for multiple reasons — IndieWire’s Steve Greene wrote that Season 3 put the cast “into...

One of the best moments of “Ted Lasso” Season 3 came in this week’s “La Locker Room Aux Folles” and if you looked away for 10 seconds you’d have missed it. During halftime of a Premier League match, right after Isaac (Kola Bokinni) has gone into the stands to fight a homophobic AFC Richmond supporter, the captain hands his band to Sam (Toheeb Jimoh) to take his spot in his absence. Puncturing the seriousness, Jamie (Phil Dunster) and Sam have a playful back-and-forth about who should have it. Jamie playfully gestures to send the armband his way. Sam flips him off with a smile.
It’s a reminder of what “Ted Lasso” hasn’t been in recent weeks. Season 3 has largely become a bundle of ideas and thought exercises cobbled together in place of having any bigger plan. There was a throughline in the show’s opening season about gaining...

Netflix’s Bridgerton has dazzled fans since its first season. Based on the Bridgerton book series by Julia Quinn, the series centers on the affluent families of the 19th-century regency era in Britain. Each season focuses on a different Bridgerton sibling as they look for love. Season 3 is currently in the works, but Simone Ashley is reflecting on her role as Kate Sharma from Season 2.
She explained how she prepped for her sex scenes on the show and hinted at what to expect from the third season.
Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton and Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma in ‘Bridgerton’ | Colin Hutton/Netflix ‘Bridgerton’ sex scenes are intense
Though Bridgerton is set during a more conservative time, the sex scenes and intimacy on the show are still very steamy and intense. The scenes take months and careful planning to create. The actors work with an intimacy coordinator on the set,...

Photograph by Colin Hutton/HBO Max In the real world, two years have passed between the premieres of Pennyworth’s second and third seasons. However, the show itself has made a five-year time jump between seasons. Jack Bannon, who stars as Alfred Pennyworth, says the story’s leap forward caused him to do quite a bit of thinking about the character’s backstory during those five missing years as production began on the new season, and he wound up becoming quite philosophical about the journey. (Click on the media bar below to hear Jack Bannon) https://www.hollywoodoutbreak.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Jack_Bannon_prepare_new_season_Pennyworth_.mp3 Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler is currently streaming on HBO Max.

Enjoy the Dirty Dancing–inspired holiday that vicar Will Davenport (Tom Brittney), Detective Inspector Geordie Keating (Robson Green), and the gang go on in the Grantchester premiere, because the fun of couples “having a snooze” in their cabins (wink-wink) and Will canoodling by the water won’t last long. Two storylines take Season 6 of the Masterpiece Mystery! to “dark places,” says creator Daisy Coulam, beginning when gay curate Leonard Finch’s (Al Weaver) loving private life — a crime in 1958 England — is exposed. (Credit: Colin Hutton (C) Kudos/ITV/Masterpiece/PBS) “Will and Geordie see somebody suffer because the law is not always just,” Coulam says, adding that the scandal impacts every character. “But there is some hope at the end.” The second half of the eight-episode season doubles down on that theme — the cost of facing the truth — with World War II prisoner of war Geordie confronting the painful past he’s suppressed.

A review of this week’s Ted Lasso, “Headspace,” coming up just as soon as I jazz scat…
The title of “Headspace” primarily points to this week’s Keeley-Roy plot, a very smart bit of business that creates a temporary hiccup in their relationship without undercutting what makes them such an entertaining and fundamentally happy couple. Roy is flourishing as one of Ted’s assistants, but because he and Keeley now work for the same team, there is no separation between their work and home lives. They are together all day,...

A review of this week’s Ted Lasso, “Do the Right-est Thing,” coming up just as soon as I’m so dehydrated, I look like one of them trees from a Tim Burton movie…
“Do the Right-est” thing is simultaneously Ted Lasso at its most heartwarming and Ted Lasso at its silliest. It’s an episode in which the team has several opportunities to bond through a common, noble cause, and also one where Ted unleashes his ridiculous alter ego, Led Tasso, before trying to explain Chuck E. Cheese to Dr.

This is a good news -- bad news situation. The Grantchester TV show has been renewed for a fourth season on PBS, however, season four will be James Norton's final outing as Anglican priest Vicar Sidney Chambers. Grantchester, season four, will premiere on PBS in 2019 at a date Tbd. An ITV and PBS Masterpiece mystery, Grantchester also stars Robson Green as Di Geordie Keating, Sidney Chambers' partner-in-crime-fighting. Co-stars Al Weaver, Tessa Peake-Jones, and Kacey Ainsworth are also returning for Grantchester season four. Meanwhile, the production will be casting for a new...
