Baras Khalzanov was born on 1 September 1938 in Zhargalantuy, Buryat-Mongol ASSR, RSFSR, USSR [now Buryatia, Russia]. He was a director and actor, known for Posledniy ugon (1969), Kochuyushchiy front (1971) and Protiv techeniya (1981). He died in 1993.
