Earlier this month, Uber released a 30-second preview of their Super Bowl commercial, which featured Sean Combs, aka Diddy, being asked to record a song for Uber One.
While the preview shows Diddy refusing to do a jingle, he does agree to record a hit for the company and invited the viewers to “meet me at the studio.”
With the help of Diddy, Uber did indeed deliver “one hit for Uber One” – or rather multiple versions of multiple hits for Uber One – in their Super Bowl Lvii commercial.
With throwbacks to classic songs like “This is How We Do It,” “Milkshake” and “I Love You Always Forever,” the ad shows Diddy recording in the studio with strategically placed Uber Eats deliveries, and includes cameos of artists Montell Jordan, Kelis, Donna Lewis and even “What Does the Fox Say” Norwegian comedy duo, Ylvis.

For football fans, the Super Bowl is a time to see how the end of the NFL season plays out, with extra pressure if your team made it to the big game. For non-football fans, the Super Bowl is a time to gather together, eat lots of food and hush everyone around you during the commercial breaks.
For decades, the Super Bowl has been the most-watched television event of the year, and for that reason it usually plays host to the best-produced commercials around. There are literally whole TV specials dedicated to showcasing just Super Bowl commercials, packed with everything from celebrity cameos to surprisingly heartwarming messages.
2023 was not lacking for big talent or showstopping ads, and we’ve rounded up the best Super Bowl commercials that aired during this year’s game below.

The Super Bowl is almost here, and the ads are as big as ever.
As usual, brands have been getting the jump on the Big Game, releasing and teasing their ads online ahead of time, and some are already going viral with big stars and bigger laughs.
Perhaps the biggest ad so far features the reunion of “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, in-character as Walt and Jesse, recreating moments from the show, but with PopCorners instead of crystal meth.

We can already tell that Netflix's final To All the Boys film, Always and Forever, is going to be an absolute delight. On Wednesday, the romantic trailer dropped, and it's giving us all the feels. Not only does it feature some adorable moments between Lara Jean (Lana Condor) and Peter (Noah Centineo), but it's also set to the perfect song. As the couple live out some of their final high-school moments, Betty Who's 2016 cover of "I Love You Always Forever" plays in the background. The singer even reacted to the trailer on Twitter, writing, "The Noah Centineo stan in me is *squealing*."
The track was originally sung by Donna Lewis in 1996 and has been featured in a handful of romantic comedies ever since. Interestingly enough, the song was actually inspired by H.E. Bates's 1977 novel Love for Lydia. The lyric "I love you always forever, near and far...

Plenty of the quasi mainstream queer movies are quickly labeled as not queer enough, the queer intelligencia (however rightfully) upset if gay life is reduced for the straight masses. Yeah, Diamantino has never heard of any of them, nor is it all that interested in your intellectual approval either.
And still it delivers something batty enough (and honestly flat out sweet enough) to knock potential naysayers off of their pretentious perch while delivering something foaming with queerness to fill all of its corners. Get ready for a fantasia of giddy gender confusion to glitterbomb the square conformity delusion, all set to Donna Lewis' "I Love You Always Forever". Diamantino is an absolute gas.

Super Dark Times? How about Super Fuckin’ Dark Kick-Your-Teeth-In Stressful No Good Very Bad Times. Writers Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski construct a backyard crime drama – like if Brick followed a cover-up instead of investigation – while debut filmmaker Kevin Phillips acts as visionary/our soul’s executioner. You know what’s going to happen. It’s obvious. That still doesn’t keep this maliciously pitch-black thriller from ripping your guts out, locked eye-to-eye all the while. Tension is tighter than a leather gag and adolescent unpreparedness heightens reaction. Choke on your fancy words, because there’s only one phrase that captures our reaction – holy shit. Savage, sincere and so very unsettling.
Collins and Piotrowski open on death – a dear carcass that’s been dragged into a school cafeteria. It’s a short intro that leads into Zach (Owen Campbell) and Josh (Charlie Tahan) sitting on a basement sofa, discussing boyhood pleasantries.

Australian pop singer/songwriter Betty Who is gearing up to finally release a brand new single. Following up her one-off cover of “I Love You Always Forever,” the fresh track, titled “Human Touch,” is expected to be the first taste of a new album due out next year.
Her last record, Take Me When You Go, only released two years ago, but the need for new Who was strong. Despite being in the studio working on new music for a while, there was a bit of disappointment when the first new song that dropped was the aforementioned cover – a take on the 1996 Donna Lewis classic. Though the cover was fine in its own right, fans and the mainstream alike were itching for something original, and now, “Human Touch” is going to give that to them.

Fox hasn’t officially confirmed it, but sources close to American Idol are buzzing that Season 12 Top 4 week will be a two-theme kind of party: One-Hit Wonders and Contestant’s Choice.
The former — which topped an At&T “fan’s choice” vote — has the potential to be fantastic, as long as producers don’t try to force the contestants toward novelty hits or tired old songs that have been covered on Idol a million times before (and simply happen to qualify under the one-hit wonder header).

There are at least three certainties in life: death, taxes, and Jukebox The Ghost winning your heart. We recently had the pleasure of watching the Philly-based band play an acoustic set here at Paste.
