Her parents, Henry Lind and Maggie, were both born in Sweden. Henry was a stone cutter in Minnesota. She had four siblings - John, Hazel, Clifford, and Arnold.
She had a daughter named Jean Coleman in December of 1923. After Jean passed away in the early 1960s Myrtle adopted and raised her grandson Steven Harold Frary.
According to Myrtle's granddaughter she was born Margaret Victoria Anderson in 1898. Lind was a family name she later adopted. Myrtle's mother Elizabeth Anderson was born in Sweden.
