John Mahon

Author of: A Life of Make Believe: From Paralysis to Hollywood (Paperback).
Most notable as a police chief in L.A. Confidential (1997) and as an astronomer (who spots and reports the giant asteroid) in Armageddon (1998).
He appeared in episodes of both MacGyver (1985) and Angel (1999) entitled "The Prodigal": The Prodigal (1985) and The Prodigal (2000).
