Two decades ago, X-Files composer Mark Snow produced a compilation dubbed Songs in the Key of X: Music From and Inspired by the X-Files that included tunes by Nick Cave, Elvis Costello, P.M. Dawn and William S. Burroughs with R.E.M., among others. It also contained a cover of Gary Numan's echoey, new-wavey "Down in the Park" by some alt-rock upstarts calling themselves Foo Fighters, whose frontman was an X-Files megafan. That same year, he got the chance to appear on the show.

Hello, good evening and welcome to our first Voice UK live blog of 2015. In a neat twist of fate, we're going live at the same time as this year's hopefuls. How about that?
Based on previous series of the spinning-chair spectacular, don't expect any overly harsh judicial criticism from the coaching panel - but do expect the Top 12 contestants to take to the stage, plus performances from reigning Voice UK champion Jermain Jackman and the omnipresent Olly Murs.
Join us from 7.15pm tonight to find out how it all pans out. Maybe, if we're all really good, we'll even get a 'Yeah!' from the one and only Sir Tom Jones.
22:09Howard and Lara from Team Tom, Autumn from Team Ricky and Clark from Team Rita are going home. Ricky comes up to the stage to give Autumn a hug.

Going into I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! is a dangerous business.
We're not talking about the poisonous spiders, bitey snakes or what might be lurking in the dunny.
No. When the frightened famous faces leap out of the plane and parachute into the jungle, they are taking their careers in their hands.
And while being on I'm a Celeb can revitalise a flagging career, it can also ruin it if you come out unfavourably during a campside spat or six.
Ahead of the show launching tonight, Digital Spy present our very own Snakes and Ladders. Who had a slippery slide down the public's favour? And who climbed the career ladder when they got to the other side of the rope bridge?
The Ladders
1. Katie Price (and Peter Andre)

Joey Essex and Amy Willerton are flirting up a storm on I'm a Celebrity, with fellow camp-mates commenting on their sizzling sexual tension.
First, the model was teaching the Towie star how to tell the time, the next she was giving him a tender massage.
Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington joked: "I can't take the sexual tension anymore. I feel like I'm watching porn with my parents."
But obviously these two aren't the first contestants to strike up a connection in the jungle, as we recall the chemistry between other camp-mates of years gone by in the jungle by below:

The answer to love's young dream - or so we had hoped - Katie Price and Peter Andre meeting on I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here in 2004. Who could forget the moment Katie slapped Peter's wandering busy, busy hands while the pair were enjoying a cuddle in a hammock?...

Jessie J became the first coach to jump out of the good Voice UK ship today (July 5), claiming that her music commitments rule her out of the BBC talent show's third cycle of spinning chairs.
It's not yet known whether Sir Tom, Danny or will are back for series three, but the search is already on to find a female popstar to replace J-j-j-Jessie.
The bookmakers have already started listing the usual suspects (Cheryl, Kylie, Adele), but here at Digital Spy we've come up with a list of serious replacements, who we believe to be genuine possible contenders for series three.
Joss Stone
If the BBC wants a like-for-like Jessie J replacement, personality-wise you couldn't get much closer than Miss Stone. She has a Marmite effect on the general public, she isn't afraid of speaking her mind and she's fond of an impromptu warble. We can easily imagine her dancing...

The Voice UK series two may only just have ended but here at Digital Spy we're already looking ahead to more big, red spinning chairs in 2014.
After two years of Jessie J gurning, Sir Tom Jones growling and name-dropping, Danny O'Donoghue standing on his chair and will.i.am being dope, it's highly likely that we will see some new faces in next year's coaching lineup.
So who would you like to see swinging around in the Blind Auditions next year?
Will Young was originally lined up for the first series, but was ditched at the last minute for Danny O'Donoghue. Does the Pop Idol champ deserve a second chance?
Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have helped turn the Us version of The Voice into a monster hit. If the BBC could borrow them both for a year, it would be a massive coup.

London, Dec 27: Vinyl records are set to make a one day comeback on BBC Radio 6 Music as the station will be playing only vinyl on 1st January.
Most BBC stations phased out vinyl in favour of CDs in the 1990s and the majority now use digital versions of songs.
But 6 Music bosses have turned the clock back with an 'All Vinyl' day to round off a month-long celebration of vinyl.
Singer-songwriter Richard Hawley will host a show talking to prominent acts such as Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead about the joys and the pitfalls of vinyl.
Dance DJ and producer Andrew Weatherall and singer Cerys Matthews will be joining.

"Things are getting strange I'm starting to worry, this could be a case for Mulder and Scully," screeched Catatonia's Cerys Matthews back in 1998. This was at the height of the X-Files phenomenon, which had steamrolled popular culture with its conspiracy theories, little green men and haunting theme music. But at the core lay the intriguing 'will they/won't they' relationship between the central FBI Agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder. Here's a look back at the very first meeting between the pair in the pilot episode, first broadcast in 1993. A smartly dressed red-headed lady called Dana Scully enters the FBI headquarters in Washington DC and meets several government officials in a room.
