Deadpool is slicing his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe — and the record books.
The first trailer for “Deadpool and Wolverine,” which debuted Sunday during the Super Bowl, has broken the record for the most-viewed movie trailer within 24 hours with an astounding 365 million total views, per Disney.
The previous record holder was the trailer for fellow Marvel movie “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which had 355.5 million online views in its first 24 hours back in 2021.
Deadpool had some help from this year’s Super Bowl, which ended up as the most-viewed telecast of all time and reached 123.7 million viewers. Sunday night’s game had the highest number of people watching the same broadcast in the history of television — and it no doubt helped that superstar Taylor Swift was in attendance rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

Acclaimed novel “All the Light We Cannot See” is landing the small screen treatment courtesy of Shawn Levy’s vision for a Netflix limited series.
Mark Ruffalo and newcomer Aria Mia Loberti star as a father-daughter duo who escape German-occupied Paris to flee the Nazis. The Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Anthony Doerr was adapted by “Peaky Blinders” scribe Steven Knight.
The official synopsis reads: The series follows the story of Marie-Laure (Loberti), a blind French girl and her father, Daniel LeBlanc (Ruffalo), who flee German-occupied Paris with a legendary diamond to keep it from falling into the hands of the Nazis. Relentlessly pursued by a cruel Gestapo officer who seeks to possess the stone for his own selfish reasons, Marie-Laure and Daniel soon find refuge in St. Malo, where they take up residence with a reclusive uncle (Hugh Laurie) who transmits clandestine radio broadcasts as part of the resistance. In his fourth time at the podium in the last six years, “This is 40” and “Knocked Up” director Judd Apatow will preside over the 75th Annual DGA Awards, often seen as the belwether for deciding who is favored to win the best director Oscar. The awards, which will take place on February 18, 2023, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, will honor the best in film, TV, commercials and documentaries, however, there has already been some blowback about the lack of women represented among this year’s titles.
In a statement, DGA Chair Beth McCarthy-Miller said she’s “thrilled that we landed Judd for this special anniversary DGA Awards show 75 years in the making. Never underestimate the power of a Chipotle gift card,” said McCarthy-Miller. “Judd’s a comedy genius that can be counted upon to keep things moving -and as host, he doesn’t have to worry about getting played off the stage.

The Directors Guild of America has released their nominees for their annual DGA Awards ceremony. These ceremonies usually serve as markers of awards season moving forward, while highlighting some of the more overlooked aspects of a production. Not only are directors themselves honored when a movie or show of theirs is nominated, but unit production managers and assistant directors are, as well. It's really cool that the DGA honors these types of roles in their nominations, as they and many others truly are the unsung heroes of our favorite pieces of media.
It's just a shame that they aren't more diverse in their honors. The main film category includes expected favorites like Steven Spielberg ("The Fabelmans") and Martin McDonagh ("The Banshees of Inisherin"), while also sliding in new voices such as Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. Unfortunately, no female directors were nominated, not even awards favorites like Sarah Polley ("Women Talking"). On the bright side,...

As Natalie Portman famously pointed out at the Golden Globes in 2018, “here are the all-male nominees” for the 2023 Directors Guild of America Awards.
In the main category for feature film, the group nominated Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert(“Everything Everywhere All at Once”), Todd Field (“Tár”), Joseph Kosinski (“Top Gun: Maverick”), Martin McDonagh (“The Banshees of Inisherin”) and Steven Spielberg (“The Fabelmans”).
Despite critically acclaimed movies from female directors like Sarah Polley (“Women Talking”), Gina Prince-Bythewood (“The Woman King”), Chinonye Chukwu (“Till”) and Maria Schrader (“She Said”), the DGA voters failed to recognize their achievements. This comes after the Golden Globes gave Spielberg its directing prize on Tuesday, where no women were nominated.
Also missing from the lineup are James Cameron for “Avatar: The Way of Water” and Baz Luhrmann for “Elvis,” both considered very competitive in the directing races.

The Fabelmans had its premiere on Saturday evening at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival.
The film was met with a standing ovation at the Princess of Wales theater and rave reviews by critics. Read The Hollywood Reporter’s review Here. Oscar pundit and THR’s executive editor of awards Scott Feinberg writes in his wrap-up, “As for the film itself? It is, at least for now, the one to beat in the best picture race.”
Variety’s Peter Debruge says: “The master of escapist entertainment gets personal in this 150-minute self-portrait, crafting a loving homage to the complicated relationship with his parents that has informed so much of his work.”
Indiewire’s Eric Kohn states: “While Spielberg made history last year as the only director to receive Best Director nominations across six decades, he has never received a nomination for screenwriting. The movie is positioned to elbow its way into...

Deadpool, Bruce Banner and Gamora are all finally sharing a screen together — but not in a Marvel project. The first teaser for Netflix’s “The Adam Project” has arrived, teaming up Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana and more in a time-traveling adventure.
In the movie, Adam Reed (Reynolds) is a fighter pilot who accidentally crash lands in present-day 2022. Of course, in the timeline of the movie, Adam was only 12 years old in 2022. Now, he must team up with his past self “on a mission to save the future.”
You can watch the full teaser for “The Adam Project” in the video above.
To be fair, it’ll take more than just one adult and his 12-year-old self to fix things. Adam has a partner, played by Zoe Saldana. He also needs to seek out his father, who’s played by Mark Ruffalo. Evidently, there’s a bit of drama in the family,...

Jonathan Tropper penned the script, with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger producing for Skydance. Levy also will produce for 21 Laps Entertainment as well as Reynolds, who will produce through his Maximum Effort banner.
Plot details are being kept under wraps other than it having a time-travel element. In the near-future, where the sport of boxing has gone hi-tech, Charlie Kenton is a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. I have much respect for Dakota Goyo! Truth be told, the child actor stole .Real Steel. from Hugh Jackman and he is one of the main reasons I.m recommending the movie 100%! He has been working virtually all of his life, yet, Dakota remains grounded, but he truly loves what he does! And he goes to a regular school and he says he doesn.t bring this .acting stuff. with him back home. Smart kid!
In the movie, Dakota plays Max, Jackman.s character.s estranged son. He awakens the fighting spirit of his wayward father. Dakota reminds me of a young Ricky Schroder from .The Champ.. And sure enough, there.s a scene in .Real Steel. where his character chants .champ, champ, champ. and I was in tears. (Read my "Real Steel" movie review right here)
In this interview, we talked about:
*** His interest in the character Max
*** The audition process . he auditioned 4 times!
