New York, Sep 20: Michael Jackson's close friend and former physician, Dr. Allan Metzger, has revealed that the late singer wanted medication only when he really needed it.
Metzger, who testified it in a court during Dr. Conrad Murray's involuntary manslaughter trial, also claimed that he refused to give the King of Pop intravenous anaesthetic even when the star requested him in April, 2009, the New York daily News reported.
Metzger's testimony contradicted many accounts of Jackson as an unwell sole, forced to commit to more concerts than he was capable of doing and dependent on prescription drugs in the final months.

Los Angeles — Michael Jackson's ex-wife broke into tears on Wednesday when she took the witness stand in a civil case and described the singer's fear of pain and trust of physicians.
Debbie Rowe said the pop star trusted doctors to prescribe pain medication to him, but they sometimes tried to outdo each other while losing sight of Jackson's care.
"Michael had a very low pain tolerance and his fear of pain was incredible," Rowe said. "I think the doctors took advantage of him that way."
She said she was with Jackson when he received treatments from his longtime dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein and from plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Hoefflin. The two doctors would try to out-do each other in the pain medications they gave the singer, she said.
"These idiots were going back and forth the whole time, not caring about him," Rowe told jurors.

Los Angeles -- Jurors hearing the case against the doctor charged in Michael Jackson's death are getting another look at the singer's life as defense attorneys try to portray him as desperate for sleep and eager to obtain the powerful anesthetic that authorities say killed him.
The panel will hear Tuesday from Cherilyn Lee, a nurse practitioner who has said Jackson repeatedly asked her for propofol to help him sleep, but she refused. Lee began her testimony Monday, the sixth witness that Dr. Conrad Murray's attorneys called to try to shift the blame for Jackson's death to the singer himself.
Murray's team plans Tuesday to call other witnesses who they think may support that theory, including Randy Phillips, the president and CEO of concert promoter Aeg Live, and Jackson's makeup artist and hairstylist, Karen Faye. They will also call several expert witnesses who will try to rebut the testimony...

He told the court Jackson felt sure he could no longer be cured by any oral drug and has urged the physician to give him an anaesthetic to sleep. But, the doctor refused.
"He asked me about intravenous sleep medicines. He used the word 'juice'. I don't think he mentioned.

After performing, Michael Jackson had such bad insomnia that he said couldn't be cured by any oral drug and urged his longtime physician Allan Metzger to give him an anesthetic to sleep, Metzger testified Monday. Metzger, testifying for the defense at the start of the fifth week of Dr. Conrad Murray's involuntary manslaughter trial, said he told Jackson during an April 14, 2009 visit - two months before Jackson's death - that administering an IV anesthetic outside of a hospital was dangerous and he would not do it. "He asked me about intravenous sleep medicines. He used the word 'juice,' " says Metzger.

After an autopsy of Michael Jackson found lethal levels of the anesthetic propofol in his body, the Los Angeles County Coroner has reportedly ruled the singer's death a homicide, the Associated Press reports. Los Angeles, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's death has been ruled a homicide according to a law enforcement official who spoke to the Associated Press. Click Here to see all of X17online's Michael Jackson photo galleries According to the Times, Dr. Conrad Murray said he'd been treating Jackson's insomnia with 50 milligrams of Propofol every night for the previous six weeks. However, the doctor claimed he was worried Jackson was becoming dependent on the drug and tried to reduce the dosage. On the day Jackson died, Murray had tried giving Jackson valium followed by lorazepam and midazolam to help him fall asleep. At 10:40 a.m. Jackson was still awake and demanded Propofol from Murray. The doctor then injected Jackson with the powerful anesthetic.

Although Los Angeles County coroner's officials have put a security hold on the official autopsy results in the Michael Jackson case until police complete their investigation, the Los Angeles Times reported that a search warrant unsealed in Houston on Monday (August 24) revealed that coroner's office investigators found lethal levels of the fast-acting, powerful anesthetic propofol in Jackson's body. The documents reportedly quote the L.A. County Coroner's Office as reaching that conclusion after Jackson's autopsy, according to the Times.
It should be noted that the court documents are not the official autopsy results, a fact that was reflected in a statement the Jackson family issued through a spokesperson late Monday afternoon.
"The Jackson family has full confidence in the legal process, and commends the ongoing efforts of the L.A.

Michael Jackson was recently warned against the dangers of the powerful anesthetic propofol by one of his former doctors, according to a lawyer for the physician. Dr. Allan Metzger, an L.A.-based rheumatologist who also specializes in internal medicine, paid a visit to the singer's home in April, says Metzger's attorney Harland Braun. "Jackson was looking for propofol and Dr. Metzger turned him down and advised him how dangerous it was," Braun tells People. "Apparently, Jackson was shopping around for the drug or looking for someone to administer it to him." Jackson, who was a patient of Dr. Metzger's...
