He lives with and has 2 children by the actress Jo Unwin
Although known as a "media terrorist", Chris is actually one of the shyest people in comedy, hardly ever doing interviews. During his only appearance on a show with a studio audience, "Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge", he was asked by co-star Steve Coogan if he had anything to say to the audience. He said no and quickly went backstage.
During Chris Morris' radio career he is thought to have filled the newsreader's booth with helium, introduced a news flash about a train crash by saying "Tell me your favourite joke" and given running commentries over serious news bulletins, each time resulting in sackings.
Following the end of the Brass Eye (1997) series, he placed his own obiturary in The Guardian newspaper. The final words were: "After his glorious student years at Bristol he went on to a varied broadcasting career before consumption ailed his later years. A good friend, he will be sorely missed."
